May ventures up with the others, the Lantern Archon following suit floating up in the air attempting to find the serpent. May bit her bottom lip. She softly chanted in an efforts to find her, detecting any magic to get an idea where she might be if she is invisible somewhere near her. The Lantern achon does a similiar effect itself.It utilizes detect evil, looking around for where she might of went.

Spinning in place to keep her eyes on everything, Liresha stepped up to hover near May and Lerrin. Nothing on top of the roof but creepy a angel statue and dusty shadows, then the further oddity of the vast Irespan. She waited. Any minute now the rooftop would erupt into violence, and then be bathed in ghost-ghouls, undead birds, monstrous skin-changers, razor waving cultist or clerics of the gods of murder. It had been that kind of day, that sort of month.

"Oh hey. These pillows are silk. Comfy."

The shimmering detection spells beam out into the darkness before turning around and staring up at the towering angel, a shimmering aura of evil invisibly wrapped around the head of the angel some 15ft above the ground. With May's magical senses she can see the shimmer of magical air at the top as well, a flicker of auras as a cascade of magical items and affects are camped there!

Liresha flinched, wobbling on her feet. When the Law started shouting you got on your knees to avoid inviting a club to the back of the skull. Only these day they were the Law more often than not and that did maybe if-you-squinted mean she didn't need to raise her arms in surrender. Only maybe that's just what the Watch was all waiting for after the entire arson thing, her not surrendering on the spot, and--Liresha stumbled half a step sideways, caught between the old instinct to scuttle when knightly types started shouting and the still-new habit of intrepid adventuring.

Which was probably why she missed the monstrous lurking lamia on top of the Angel and had to use Khazak to steady herself.

The invisible stalker atop the spire twitches and spins as the pair of arrows fly past Xanesha atop the spire. The invisible form uncurls as she leaps down into the party. Spear spinning and claws lashing out the she devil moves like death herself is amongst you! A brutal stabbing spear revealing the shimmering snake in all her 5 forms!

Five phantom spears for one dwarf. Bad odds. The others responded with admirable ferocity against the attacking lamia. Some blows cutting mirages in half, others hitting flesh, and Liresha had to force herself to respond through the shock of seeing dwarven blood. It was difficult to move or think or act and when she finally did she threw herself at the spear-wielding snake claws first and trailing smoke from a sword suddenly on fire.

Unlike last time the onslaught is immense! Lerrin only 15ft away fires 3 arrows in quick succession that banish two of the images before a 3rd buries itself in the creature who hisses! May standing safely backwards commands the archon that launches a laser like beam of flame at the creature searing scales whilst its owner unleashes the quickening that leave time standing still for the rest of the brave heroes!

Kamo leaps in, the savage dinosaur biting, tearing and clawing and rending the last of the image down. Seconds later Tarok and Galstack move in in tandem blade and hammer smashing into the snake demon drawing a thick flood of gellid black ophidian blood. She hisses loudly even as Liresha explodes in fire and ice, blade lashing out with a terrifying explosion of elemental fury even as the mage and snake mage trade magical blows at rapid speed!

The lamia snake-mage was reeling from a barrage of blows, shed ophidian blood mixing with the splatters of their own. Which meant fire and steel could hurt her, break bone and shatter scales so all they would need would be more fire. For it wasn't yet enough. The spear kept coming. Liresha hissed as another part of her burst into flame, icicles forming on her sword to boil away, and she threw herself at the spear.

"Well, as long as me axe kin hurt 'em ...",

The point of it punched through her shielding, wards and armor in a burst of pain, shredding flesh and spilling blood. She didn't die. And it was an opening to counter-attack, and burn and break and shatter this hateful angry thing that kept hurting her friends. She lashed out with fire and ice.

The Lantern Archon echoed out it's soothing noise. It's words came out despite not speaking a language that could not be identified saying 'stand strong brave heroes'. It fired off two more rays attempting to strike her down.

The spear jams in Galstack's collar bone, metal scraping on bone. Xanesha hisses as the spear gets stuck and in a second the heroes are upon her. Blades hammering, slashing and chopping at the snake demon. Glastack shatters an arm, Lerrin drives an arrow into her chest before Tarok and Liresha both chop brutally at her. Twinned blades driving through the snake demon! Steel soaked in black blood erupting from the other side of the creature as she topples hisses and screaming onto the roof top before slowly the writhing and twisting comes to a halt, the green glow in in her evil eyes fading to a dull black....

Buried in amongst the sheets and silks is also a book. This object is a long scroll bearing an extensive list of names and professions, many of which have been crossed out. The list bears the heading “Sihedron Sacrifices.” Some of these names are of folks from Sandpoint, but the majority are people who live in Magnimar—all of them merchants, moneylenders, gamblers, adventurers, and thieves—greedy souls hand-selected by
Xanesha. Crossed-out names indicate murder victims. The most prominent name on the list, though, is that of Lord-Mayor Haldmeer Grobaras. In addition, it would seem that Xanesha has been taking extensive notes on the lordmayor’s habits—when he takes his meals, who he visits, his favorite taverns, and even the hours he sleeps. Xanesha was planning to assassinate the ruler of Magnimar. Nowhere in these documents does Xanesha give any indication why she was organizing the murders of so many souls.

Standing, Lerrin extends a hand to Khazak "On your feet now. The Gods have smiled upon us this day but I doubt they mean for us to lay around in our victory." Looking around at everyone else he says "Who else can use some healing?"

The Paladin raises his hand, "I took quite the hit on my shoulder." He looks over at their enemy's corpse, "Never before have I fought an enemy so adept at finding the weak point in my armor."

May felt some relief seeing her fall. Her eyes darted to Khaz as he finally slumped up with the healing. She hugged the dwarf tight, tears filling her eyes hugging him tight. "Thank goodness you are alive!" She spoke fighting back crying though failing to do so. She hugged him tight forgetting to even bother with composure before her allies. She didn't want to even think about having a companion fall again... specially after she felt as if there was a bit of a gap between herself and the dwarf.

The Lantern Archon let out another calming sound, hovering over near the party. It's sounds came out to reach the ears of everyone remaining unflinching speaking no mortal language. 'It is good to see she has fallen and your companion is able to take another breath. Might the light continue to protect and guide you all valiant heroes.'

[Blisstake]

Tarok takes a moment to catch his breath, staring at the lamia's corpse all the while. When he's convinced that she isn't going to suddenly jump into action, the ranger does a quick count to make sure everyone in the party is still alive and well.

"We did it..."

He makes his way over to the lamia's possessions, and looks through the hit list. "So she stayed up here in her clock tower, and ordered that cult to kill all these people for her. If we took too long she would have even had the mayor. Don't suppose there's a reward for saving his life do you? If there is we probably shouldn't walk up to his office looking like this."

Tarok pauses a moment when he sees another copy of the medallion he's wearing, this one along Xanesha's neck. He didn't think Nualia and the lamia had any associations with each other, but it was too much of a coincidence to ignore.

"So... why do you think she wanted all these people dead?"
