The hulking man stands transfixed by the light. His jaw descends from his skull, a large amount of spittle flows out and onto his shimmering golden scale mail, like a cascading waterfall.

Ignoring the lights, Halsaephus slides back down the chain quickly.

Leila's hands fall to her sides as the colorful lights reflect against her emerald eyes.
"So beautiful...." she whispers to no one in particular...

Bernard turns tail and runs the other way resisting the wind, not seeming to be affected by the shiny lights, on his way back down the tunnel he shakes his companions on the way hoping to awaken them from the daze.

The lights continue to glow and flicker but the rising wind sends some of the party into a panic and the effects are diminished. Marten delivers a full armed slap to Kavuloia's to snap him out of his trance. Bernard stamping on Leila's toe for the same effect.

Even as Hal slides down the chain you can all hear the wind increasing as more vents by the portal open and the wind whips clothes around, the torches going out and the lantern flickering wildly.

Getting out of this passage doesn't seem like it will be a problem, but I'm not going to stick around long enough to find out. Running back to the chain I slide down after Hal.

Taliesn, for whom the phrase "turn tail and run" has additional significance, does just that, sprinting with the wind to the end of the passage. I hope I can catch the chain instead of just being blown out the end.

The Goliath snaps out of it, turns tail and joins his companions at the chain.

Bernard also joins them on the chain before it is too late.

Marten and Bernard reach the chain alongside Leila and the heavyset Goliath as Mirriana slides down rapidly hand over hand. The wind screaming in their ears now. The bravery of Bernard and Marten possibly about to cost them their lives!

The portals open slightly further the wind screaming down the corridor in an onslaught of noise and dust. The 4 at the top can feel it tugging at their bodies trying to sweep them down the long fall to a waiting Hal!

The Goliath thrusts his holy symbol into the air and howls, "EVEN THE MIGHTIEST HURRICANES TREMBLE IN FEAR WHEN THEY ENCOUNTER A MOUNTAIN! KAVAKI IS A MOUNTAIN OF A GOD! MY FAITH IN KAVAKI IS MOUNTAINOUS! KAVAKI IS WITHIN ME! I AM YOUR MOUNTAIN!"

Having reached the ground safely, I rummage in my pack to pull out my blanket, rapidly unfurling it with a flourish.

"Quick Hal, grab the ends! We have to catch them if they fall!"

Halsaephus

Hal caught on immediately. Back in Myth Seretyn the children would play a similar game where they would toss each other into the air using a large tarp.

He grabbed the blanket and braced himself.

The young cleric and the snow elf stretch out a blanket as seconds later beside them both the wizard tumbles from the ceiling. Seconds later she vanishes and appears a second later, her skills of teleportation leaving her coming out of the portal upwards and shooting some 5ft up in the air before landing with catlike grace.

Above them all the wind continues to strengthen, only Bernard and Marten left to shimmy down as a massive shadow moves to fill the corridor above, the goliath acting as a colossal windbreak!

Scrabbling for a hold, Taliesn is blown out the tunnel and into the long shaft.

Barely catching hold of the chain, he falls almost as much as slides to an unceremonious bump at the bottom.

"nevermind," he mutters, as he picks himself up off the floor.

Even as Marten just manages to catch himself sliding down the chain onto the blanket the slight form of Bernard is capaulted off the top of the shaft - the small amount near hurricane wind squeezing around the massive goliath enough to sweep him down the shaft.

The changeling twists in mid-air reach for the chain... the thief delicately grabbing hold and sliding down safely

What will Goattracker do now?

GOATTRACKER

Spitting into the wind, the Goliath yells, "DANGER IS MY EVER CONSTANT COMPANION! MY FRIENDS WILL PROTECT ME FROM THE LIKES OF YOU, VILLAINOUS WIND!"

With that said, the Goliath carefully turns himself around and runs straight for the shaft, praying to Kavaki to as he lunges forward to grasp the chain.

Reflex Save: (1d20-1)[19]

The goliath follows th others down the chain though the chain creaks under his weight. The blanket insufficient even for 1 buttock cheek as Mirriana and Hal scatter. With a thud Goattracker lands safely as they can all see the wind increasing to hurricane force where the tomb howls with the air flow and the green torch flickers in the gusts leaving the reflective chamber where you stand filled with flickering lights.

The wind continues to scream dro wning out conversation for about 10 minutes before it dues down to a whisper... A faint click as a pressure plate resets just audible...

"Well that didn't work."

I cast my mind back over everything I can recall about the trap. Seven eyes in the face, only the green one lit. I cast my gaze around the tomb. Seven lanterns, green one lit. The coincidence sets off glaring sirens in my watchman's instincts.

"Hey Bernard, can you climb back up again? Don't enter the tunnel, I just want you to check what happens to the face when I try something."

With that I begin to go around lighting the remaining lanterns, besides the missing red one.

Wary about entering the tunnel again he trusts Mirriana and climbs the chain looking at the face.

As the young cleric walks around the alcoves, torches being dropped into the lanterns hanging on the chains the lights in the reflective chamber growing ever more beautiful yet oddly disturbing and distracting as the shimmering waves of 6 colours seem to make strange unworldly patterns

Up the chain and back in the dangerous corridor Bernard pads a few feet down the corridor - although nowhere near where he set the pressure pad off last time. Already he can see the change - 6 glittering eyes in the face, only one unlit...

THough where that lantern is who knows? It could have been stolen or be down the collapsed tunnel from whence the bugs came?

The Goliath smacks his ches ta few times, "We have discovered a place of pure excitement!"

After the ten minute break, he continues, "Our thief must survey the ground and discover where the trigger for the trap lies. Once known, he can lunge over it and discover what those glowing eyes truly are."
