*waves awkwardly* Hey all. First-timer here, hope I won't disappoint.

Anyway, these are...um, harpies. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they're harpies. Inspired by "No Encounters Today," the lovely wallpaper that came out a couple months ago.

Looks good. A lot of sharp corners, but they seem appropriate in this one.

Just one question, What's up with the feathers behind the head of the left one? Not saying there's anything wrong with them just curious.

Do you mean the mismatched colors? I was trying to go with having a light underwing (is that the term?) with darker feathers on the back of the wing, but looking at it again it does seem a little weird. Doesn't help that three out of four of the wings only show the undersides...

So I tried it out as suggested, but thought it still looked a bit odd. Taking your advice, I fiddled around a bit. Ended up changing the color and trying to make it more distinctively wing-like. Is it better?

Wow, you're new to making oots avis, Paisley? Those are very good, especially for a newbie. Well done.

Let's see if I can think of some advice. I only have minor things to mention. The singing one's mouth looks a bit small I think, though it's barely a nitpick. On the same one, I like the second updated wing one better than the first. Once again on the same one, try curving the lines of her shirt's neckline a bit. the straight lines look out of place.

Um, yeah. I really have very little to nitpick. Once again, very well done.

I feel it actually held up very well to the tests of time, but recently I've felt that it's rather dated now. Compared to my more recent avis that is. So, time for an update.

It is an improvement, and you've at least made som cursory modifications on the hat (changed colour on the ribbon).

You said Salix had an older version as well. Would you mind sharing it too? :3

I agree with Gulagh, though. Furthermore, I want to add that her fingers look a bit weird. I suppose you may be going for a bit more 3-dimensional look, but they're a bit twisted and don't quite link up with her arms at the right points...

I have nothing negative to say about your other harpy in your first post. I like it!

The pose is definitely more fun on the old on. It was back when I had decided that my dryads' hair should be a whole bunch of separate shapes, though. I find now that that doesn't look as good as I thought it did.

It's funny how your taste in what works and what doesn't changes so much over time. I can look back at avatars with both overly straight and overly rounded lines, and ask myself "What was I thinking?"...

Out of curiosity, did you try something of an inbetween? The regular hair with a leaf or two here and there?
