Re: Can someone please explain comic #10?
A Twoll and three uncroaked (undead) troops came to the end of their turn in a field. Because this world is based on turn based strategy games, characters who end a turn can't move again until the beginning of their next turn, so they stayed in the field, even though the Twoll complained about feeling they were in a dangerous position.
Jillian and her Gwiffon swooped down, and the Gwiffon ate a uncroaked soldier. The Twoll was confused by what had happened. Did he suddenly have one less undead follower than before? Since he knew he could count to three, he knew he should be able to figure this out. He started to count the undead troops, but before he could realize that he now had only two uncroaked troops, instead of three, Jillian's Gwiffon swooped down a second time, and ate him. Jilian's Owlies attacked and killed the other two uncroaked troops.
Jillian then used her magic hat to report what she was doing to Prince Anson. The hat teleported the note she'd written to Anson.
When Anson learned from the note that Jillian was disobeying his orders, and attacking the enemy, he instructed another of his subordinates to take a group of cloth golems, and other heavies, and catch up with Jillian. Anson knows Jillian may need to be rescued.

Jill attacked Bogroll and some zombies with her gwiffon and the orlies. She sent a report back to Ansom with the magic hat. Ansom sent out a regiment of cloth golems and suchlike to serve, nominally, as ground reinforcements.
I no longer actively read the forums, and probably won't respond to any PMs. I'm fine with people using my homebrew in anything, including fan-compilations and wikis, as long as you credit me.

Re: Can someone please explain comic #10?
It wasn't Bogroll. Bogroll doesn't have any facial hair, and he looks much less serious.
And the white stuff is the Gwiffon's gaping maw.Belkar's Bad to the Bone.

Re: Can someone please explain comic #10?
Bogroll is Garrison class, which most likely means his job is to guard Lord Stanley's capital. So he's not going anywhere. Besides, he's a natural henchman, the very idea of him leading other units is ridiculous.

Re: Can someone please explain comic #10?
Right.
Then again, a Twoll who can barely count to 3 probably wasn't leading those uncroaked either. They were just assigned to move to another location, for some reason or other. Maybe a general patrol.
What I have to wonder, though, is why uncroaked are abbreviated as 'INF'.Belkar's Bad to the Bone.

Infantry. That's their particular fighting class, not their actual unit class, I'm thinking.

Re: Can someone please explain comic #10?
Don't forget, this comic's humor is part word game, too! Notice the magic words that operate the hat of sending:
- "Hoffa," which causes the message to disappear, is a reference to Teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa, who disappeared in 1975 and has never been found.
- "Livingstone," which causes the message to reappear at the other hat, is a reference to African explorer Dr. David Livingstone, who was thought lost until an expedition led by - as if to add another layer of irony to an already complex joke - Henry Stanley relocated him.
That's the kind of humor that keeps us guessing!

Oh, ugh. Wikipedia says it's Livingstone. I'll fix it in the comic.

Re: Can someone please explain comic #10?
It's not a quibble, he's merely helping the author by pointing out a minor issue. It takes a lot of time and effort to make a perfect spontaneous joke.
