Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
The sword reflects sunlight around the room, and at one instance, the reflected ray hits the coin on the wall. When the reflected light hits the coin, beams of light begins to shine from the coin, just like when the mirror reflected light onto it.

Bronsk
Bronsk thinks for a little while longer, and then gingerly picks up the mirror in his other hand. With a bit of careful manipulation, he tries to reflect light off the blade onto the mirror. If there's nothing out there, then what was that noise?

Nothing special happens with the light reflected from the sword onto the mirror.

Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
Varek watches Bronsk fiddle around with the relics, then he sudenly speaks up. "Uh.. you know, what if we have the sides mixed up ? The poem says, the strength shines from the left hand, okay, but then it goes on the truth guides our hand from the right. Which right ? Ours or that of the eye ?"
Varek looks to see if anything special is on the right side of the room, relative to the "eye" like a pedestal to put the mirror on or something.

Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
There is nothing special designed to hold the mirror there. It has to be held up by someone.

Bronsk
Bronsk carefully sets down the mirror for a moment, excitement in his eyes.
"Hyu know...that's worth trying! And...there's something else about thiz; the light pattern; it iz different for sword and mirror when shone on the eye." Bronsk walks over to the other side of the room and tries shining the mirror on the eye.If there's nothing out there, then what was that noise?

Using the glowing bead Mia made, Bronsk continues experimenting with light and the relics. Reflecting light from the mirror onto the eye through the other door gives yet another new pattern of light from the eye.

Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
As the two beams of light both reach the eye on the wall, they seem to meld together. The random beams of light that were sent out before has now changed into a single thich beam of light shining straight down on the floor in the middle of the room.

Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
Varek grins "Sure can do !" and goes to fetch the cup, dipping his finger into the drop of
meadnectar and doing just that.
"Gee, i sure hope this works." he says, just as he touches the coin.

Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
Just like before, when the drop of nectar touches the coin, the light changes into freezing cold frost. Varek barely gets his hand away as the beam freezes the ground in the middle of the room. The ice beam flows for about ten seconds, before the eye suddenly stops shining, leaving only a sheet of ice in the middle of the room. Mia steps close to it and looks onto it. "Hey, look. The ice has melded with the floor and made a window of sorts. There appears to be a room below here." She points down onto the sheet of ice, and through it, the faint outlines of a room can be seen, although the ice makes it difficult to discern any details.

Carefully laying down the artifact, Bronsk walks over to the sheet of ice and frowns.
"So this iz the path...but how do we follow it?" Tenatively, Bronsk touches a finger to the patch of ice.If there's nothing out there, then what was that noise?

Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
Karl leans over, looking down. I could burn it away, and then if we got a ladder or a rope or something we could climb down.

The ice is both unnaturally smooth and extremely cold, so cold that Bronsk removes his fingers immediately from the pain caused by the intense cold.

Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
Varek looks at the icy .. window ? . astonished. Then he says "I dunno... i have a feeling we need to do somehting with all of the artifacts. And we didn't use the staff yet. Uhm. This thing is supposed to be some sort of .. healing staff or something as far as i remember. Any of you happen to know about that sort of thing ?"
Varek looks between the others. "I mean, it makes sense, doesn't it ? There's 5 artifacts and we only used 4 so far. And ... yeah well.. what if this .. uh.. icy mirror is just a kind of portal or something that needs to be opened ? Bet we could hack up the floor and find no cellar below here whatsoever."

Karl nods. Quite possible. What we see in the ice may simply appear to be there, not actually be there.

Bronsk
Bronsk nods and stands, wincing as he straightens up his knees.
"Mfph. Yes, I agree. The staff, then." Bronsk paces over to the table and picks up the relic, admiring for a moment the smoothness of the wood. Pacing back to the ice-floor, Bronsk hesitates, and then waves the staff in the general direction of the ice, hopefully. If there's nothing out there, then what was that noise?

When the sapphire tipped end of the staff touches the ice, it passes through it, causing ripples as if it was lowered into water.

Right, says Karl, so we can get the staff through the ice, but we can't get through ourselves. Unless... he crouches down and puts his hand on the ice.

Re: The Silver Stars of the Eclipsing Moon
The staff goes down a little more until it hits something, though the ripples in the surface make it impossible to see what. When Karl touches the ice, it still feels quite cold, although now it feels more like cold wet water, than a sheet of ice, and his hand pierces the surface easily. Pushing his hand slightly further, Karl realize that the surface is not very thick, and that there is air below it.
