The sculpture is in a rather early stage, but the general shape of a winged quadruped can be made out.

Welllll, I did sort of leave him face down in a pool of his own blood. Buuuuut, he was still talking and Quinn stormed in right away. Sooooo, I'm sure he'll be fine. Staaaaare~

"That depends. What sort of skills and abilities do you have?" Sophie asks.

"I am possessed of a great many useful skills! I'm quite the messenger, for one! I can also move things about, or attack evil things with my light, if I must. I can take care of children, I can sing quite well, I can speak any tongue..." Invidius declares these things with pride. However, that's a sin too, so he cuts himself short a little and adds, "What is it you need?"

"Ollie's my second cousin. He taught me my backstory all our history. Anyway, his name was Namu, this first one of us, and he was a great believer in Vulen's dream. He worked with Vincent, an inventor of machines and tools; they were trying to make a flying machine. But he paused that to work on more practical things. Some means of finding us through our glamours. Namu tried to distract his friend, and then when words did not work, simply to take his motivation, but when it was gone there was nothing left of Vincent at all." Sigh. Poor man. "His work wasn't even needed. Our masters, as I said, lost. That time was unintentional, but when we learned what we could do, and it was only us, our enslavers were too distant from humanity, it didn't stay that way. In the future, when they came down to the worlds, we would be used to track and hunt certain humans for them. But we didn't have much chance to escape. Dealing with people was our skill, and navigating the void between the ten worlds was our masters' close secret. But then, my great great great grandmother, Kreon, she was part of the clan that escaped capture in the war, she stole the sun, and all the ten worlds were dark. The only thing that could be found was the lights of the cities on the seventh world. Without the rainbow sunlight blocking the way, we were able to escape and find our way there. Humans had forgotten, which they do so easily, and there were not many of us to hide. All of them vanished within the crowds of the shining city without being a noticeable fraction. Things had changed faster and faster. We like to think we set the humans on the path to changing so quickly, but, who can say? Metal and salt were everywhere. To even stay alive in such a poisonous place, we needed human thought. Not to kill them; that we just did because, well, they were merely humans. You know, it was a rite of passage once. You weren't grown until you'd broken a mortal mind beyond recovery. But anyway, once upon a time we only took their feelings to protect them; now we needed their feelings to protect us. It's nicer out here. Sometimes I feel like I need nothing but myself."

Tovia knocks on the partition and speaks to the driver. The cab stops, let's say a mile from camp. The cabbie was going slow through the unfamiliar, unlit road. She then leans across Reinholdt to open his door. I won't, but you can.

"Sounds horrible. Glad you could get out." Reinholdt takes particular note of sun stealing and the metal and salt being poisonous thing. That wasn't something he knew about Anchor's kind.

Reinholdt hesitates as Tovia leans across him and opens the door. Would there be a point? He saw something like four people rush into that room. "Why won't you?" He asks her.

I guess I just don't care about him that much. She lingers against him for a brief moment, then pulls back.

"I..." Reinholdt frowns. "Fine. I'll swing by later this evening, ok? Don't go on an adventure without me." Reinholdt will move to get out of the car and start flying back to GLoG.

Tovia closes the door and watches Rein leave before telling the cabbie to take her home. Yeah, that's what I thought...

"As am I. I didn't know all the worst of it, but even the Shining City is not a good place. Oh, and they got the sun back eventually, don't worry."

Anchor hops down from the invisible sitting place, and tries to give Reinholdt a quick kiss on the cheek. Hope that won't freak him out or anything.
"Thanks for listening."

[Reinholdt]

[Outside the med lab]

"Oh good. That was concerning." Reinholdt accepts the kiss with a warm smile. "Thanks for sharing. I'll catch you later." Unless Anchor has something to add, Rein will head back inside the MedLab to sit and wait for continuity.

"Only if it didn't kill me before it swallowed me." Otherwise, she stays a dead chickadee. "I've still got an easier way to reach the top of the roof anyway, and flight's harder to block than teleportation. If you want a long-distance teleportation, you're best off finding a tutor whose magic allows such rather than me." Though given the nature of the Nexus, it's entirely possibly that the restriction with Natalie's branch of Conjuration is lifted, or there may be a form of magic that is actually compatible with the magics of Natalie's world, which aren't compatible with each other.

"I think running messages between members could be useful," Sophie says. She'd rather not have Invidius take care of children. He's a little... not all there.

[TRAIL APPROACHING CAMP]

A flash of...something...signals the arrival of a newcomer on the path leading to the GLoG camp. Exactly what happens is somewhat unclear, but somehow, time and space conspire to deposit a young man in ratty clothes onto terra firma a few hundred meters away from the main lodge. This youth, a mutated human who calls himself "Shame", staggers as he steps into the sunlight from a bizarre realm called "the Path". Once his eyes adjust to the brightness of day, he notices the buildings nearby and approaches slowly, stumbling every so often until he becomes accustomed to walking on solid ground - as opposed to the spongy surfaces found along the Path he has walked until just now.

Unless he is found outside by any of the camp's denizens, he will cautiously make his way to the closest building - the main cabin - and knock on the front door a few times. Unless he is requested to leave, he will try to open the door; succeeding then, he will peek inside to see if anyone is around to help him.

That would probably be the desk. METIS emits light from her hands, plays them over Toby, and then creates a detailed hologram of his body. She helpfully highlights the burst blood vessels in his sinuses. And the intracerebral hemorrhage flooding part of his brain with blood.

Upon observing this, Quinn swears roundly in about 20 different languages, and three more she just made up. "...alright. We're going to have to fix this, and quickly."

It might, possibly, be time for the surgical curtain, wielded by a telepathic doctor!

METIS assists Quinn in the surgery. Although any magic she uses will have to be with Quinn's own energy. Still, she's a very useful resource, even if Quinn only uses her to pinpoint the damage. At any rate, Toby is soon out of danger, although I'm sure he's still very much in trouble. When he wakes up, at least. He's finally asleep now.

"Hello sir. Welcome to GLoG sir. How may I help you sir?"

"Right. Happy people." Reinholdt leans up against the fallen tree and uses his arms to curl up his knees to his chest.

"Anyways to answer your earlier question, I, ummm... suppose I have issues with... overreacting. And lying. Maybe compulsive? I don't know. At first it was to cope, then it became a tool to get the job done. Then it became a requirement for my survival. Now it's just... me, every bit as much as being a cat or using a sniper rifle and I am not even sure I want to change that. But if GLoG needs a place to start, that'd be it." Presuming he isn't lying about it just to keep them distracted from real issues.

"I hope you manage to keep yourself busy as I look for someone to take a look at your sigils, then," Sophie says. "You'll get to meet more of the people who live here, too."

"Oh, cool. I didn't know you had magic music powers for rocks. Good choice though." he adds teasingly.

"Thanks! I used not to have any powers, but a while ago a goddess blessed me and Salix and I've been able to move and shape rocks since then," Brinika explains.

"'Gee-Low-Gee'...? What does that sta- Oh, right: the 'Good League of Good'. Forgot about that for a second..." Relieved to have found himself near a safe haven, Shame steps into the cabin and approaches the polite youth. Upon request, he states, "I, er...(I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask...) I'm hoping to look into a personal, umm...'complication'...It's not- Well, I don't think it's life-threatening, but...Oh man, this is awkward...I guess I'd just like to know if there's a hospital or some such in the area."

((For reference, Shame isn't entirely new to the Nexus, so he's heard some of the terminology, including the acronyms for some of the prominent groups. Also, MAN it's tough to type out realistic fumbling speech; hard to know what's gramatically-correct and what's not.))

If he's been around the Nexus for a bit, then maybe he's heard that hospitals have an incredibly bad rap for being destroyed and/or haunted in all types of ways (from Silent Hill to classic ghosts). Infirmaries, on the other hand, are the best possible place to go for any ailment whatsoever.

Whoa, that was a heavy reaction; whatever Shame said to scare the feline humanoid, he deeply regrets saying it. "Wha-?! No...No no, of course not! I just...I need..." Frustrated, Shame turns slightly and shows his back, exposing a moderately large growth of skin and bone just below his neck. "This is what I meant: stuff like this, plus skin turning into rock and who knows what else under the surface. I need to know why any or all of this is happening to me, preferably before it disables or kills me. Is there any place here that could help with that?"
