    Rolling can be done in here or in a spoiler in the IC thread. I encourage banter during actions and talking being a free action during this game, but that goes for NPCs as well (although sniping a villain while he's talking is likely to work at least once if they're stupid enough to let you do so).

    Important house rules:
    • Spoiler: Character Building
      Show

      • 32 point buy or 4d6 drop lowest rolled if you’re feeling lucky (one stat may be rerolled)
      • Everyone can have up to two flaws, subject to approval
      • Since you're level 8, you have 27,000gp worth to spend as starting wealth
      • For saves and BAB, you can choose to use fractional or the normal progression for multiclassing.
    • Spoiler: Skills
      Show

      • Jump + Balance + Tumble are now Acrobatics.
      • Jump + Climb + Swim are now Athletics.
      • Hide + Move Silently are now Stealth
      • Listen + Spot are now Perception
      • Rich Berlew's Diplomacy rules are being used.
      • Psicraft transparencies with Spellcraft, as does UMD and UPD.

    • Spoiler: Maneuevers, Spells, and Powers
      Show
      • We're using this Iron Heart Surge fix, with the added caveat that it negates Anti-Magic Fields on yourself until the end of your next turn.
      • Eldritch Barrage: Least; 2nd; Blast Shape
        As a full-round action, you may use your eldritch blast multiple times in a single round. Treat this attack as a normal eldritch blast, except if your base attack bonus is +6 or higher, you can (as part of the full-round action) make as many attacks with your eldritch blast as your base attack bonus allows.
      • Detect Magic/Psionics can be used to analyze magic items. It will reveal basic information like bonus type and magnitude, and some weapon/armor enhancements. Identify (or trial and error) is still needed to know everything about a weapon.
      • Teleport Through Time and Epic Magic do not exist.
    • Spoiler: Random stuff

      • Teleportation Circles cannot be made permanent.
      • Self-resetting magic traps do not exist.

      Show
      • Since we're not using experience, you can substitute gold at a rate of 5 per 1 exp when crafting items. In effect, this changes crafting from 50% of the price to 50%+20% of the price.

    Your knowledge check tells you that the creature is an elemental, in this case a jellyfish from the Paraelemental plane of Magma most likely. You know that like a normal jellyfish, its tentacles are going to be something to avoid, and that unlike a normal jellyfish, you don't want to touch the bell either (because, well, magma).

    You also know that it is highly likely that this thing can levitate at the very least, and probably can earth glide, and you suspect that its tentacles are mobile, unlike a normal jellyfish. You also suspect that whatever its tentacles inject into something they touch is probably not poison, but something adapted for hunting other Magma creatures.

    No. Your knowledge of these elemental creatures tells you that while some of them can destroy weapons that touch them, one that would would be radiating much more heat than this one, which doesn't seem to be making much at all.

    If you left your sword in it long enough, it'd definitely melt. An attack? Probably not unless something very strange happened.
