On another note, looking at the changes to tables, I am VERY glad I did not decide to make a table for all of the spells, especially since the sorting function within tables will be removed with the table update. That was pretty much the main drive toward making it into tables...so I wanted to open it back up to see if anyone still thinks that tables are a good idea for the thread?

Also, the verdict is still out on Abilities of races (such as the fiends teleport) should be in it's own section, or included in the list with a special designation, or should just be included as is, and that's it. Is one more or less confusing than the rest?

Added strip 94 to Disruption, and 14 and 34 to the unknown spells. They look like disruption does, but I'm unsure if they are the same spell. Any ideas what they could be?

Ok. I wasn't quite sure what to put to show that the spell failed. I think there may be a spell or two that fizzled that need this marker. I'll keep my eyes peeled for more!

I very much appreciate it. With the Transcription full tilt, I've been attempting to keep my eyes peeled myself, but the benifit is once the transcription is done, we can just search the text for mentions!

He doesn't say it, but Durkon is virtually certain to be casting Protection from Daylight in the second panel of 932. The spell is also mentioned in 946

And on 932, the two unknown "hands" spells are probably part of the same casting. V is level 16, so the hand should stay around for several rounds.

I ask because you haven't treated them consistently in the recent updates that I've made. In 442, Xykon says he cast Overland Flight earlier in the day and that does not get a "mention". In 946, V says he just cast Dimensional Lock three times and that does get a "mention". In neither case do we actually see the spell being cast, nor see the dweomer, but both spells are still currently in effect at the time the mention is made.

It seems to me that these are basically the same situation, so they should be treated the same. I don't really care which way you go on them, just think you need to be consistent.

That's a me error. It should be a mention, because we don't see the spell being cast, or the spells effect. If you see any, you can go ahead and make a list and I'll be happy to correct them.

Sorry if someone has mentioned this, but the unnamed fire spell the Death Knight uses in 440 is an ability they get called Abyssal Blast.

I think I'd decided to stop doing smite evils, and then started again later because I changed my mind. This was all in one go, so I've likely missed quite a bit. I figured that would be the case, which is one of the reasons I put it up, for help. Especially since I didn't count failed spells my first time through, and likely missed some mentions.

687: Cure Light Wounds

If mentioning magical potions counts the same as mentioning spells (and I don't see why not), then there's mention of Mage Armor and Heroism in 135. The Heroism potions V bought were most likely consumed in 427, but they weren't mentioned by name there.


ETA: The Command Undead that you have in 830, was actually cast in 828. We see dweomers around Redcloak's hands in two panels in 828. I expect the second one was the Command Undead. The other was probably some defensive spell.
