Hey I've had my avatar for awhile, and I think I'd like something in the actual style of OOTS.

Anyway I'd like an anthropomorphised white rabbit with floppy ears. In addition I'd like him to be wearing clothes that give him a mobster type look. Preferably I'd like his clothes to be black, for him to be wearing a bowler hat, and for some sort of stabbing implement to be visible in someway.

Hello all, for the last few months I've really been digging the fluff of a shifter druid/moonspeaker. I've never used anything but the stock GiTP avatars and was wondering if anyone would be willing to make me one in the OoTS fashion.

Hey all, I am requesting an avatar of a character that have been playing for some time

Race: Forest Gnome
Class: Rogue/Cleric/Skullclan hunter (dnd 3.5)
Gender: Male
Hair Color: Chestnut, but see the Description section.
Skin Color: grayish
Description: Blue eyes, short of stature Wearing an open black cloak, showing his mithril shirt, with the hood up but not covering his mask. He also has a collar of umbral metamorphosis on. I'd like him to be holding shortsword out (it has the vicious enchantment, in case that inspires you to make it look extra cool). His mask cover his entire face (purple in color, has holes for his eyes, with a large silver smile, like a big evil cheshire cat. The mask is also the symbol on his family crest). Because he is wearing the mask and has his hood drawn, you can skip the hair. If you can fit some wands on his belt too that would be cool. I have never really described his pants before but feel free to make them whatever fits.
Pose: He has his shortsword out, ready to strike, and is casting obscuring mist (if you can make it look like he is presently casting it, and also have mist around him, that would be awesome)

Chiming in to see if anyone would like to make an OotS style avatar based on this picture I drew/edited.
The current pose, special effects, and negative coloration (touch of corruption) are unnecessary. I would love to see a cartoony version of the scythe. The colors should stay roughly the same, but can be rounded off to the nearest most recognizable color (purple, gray, etc.) rather than anything fancy.
Also, most such avatars seem to be made in Flash, judging by the line patterns and such, as best as I can tell. However, if anyone uses photoshop or gimp instead, I'd love to see an explanation of the process.

I now make all my avatars in Inkscape, a vector editor like the Adobe Illustrator (which (I think) is) used to make OotS.

But once upon a time I did work in the GIMP*, and the key to that is layers. Lots and lots of layers. Every different color should be on a new layer.
I had a reference layer with basic OotS shapes, drawn in outline, and on a layer above that I would redraw the black lines that make up the body.
Then the same with clothes, another layer for effects like that Touch of Corruption. A layer for the outline of the hair behind them, then a layer below that for the color of the hair, then a third layer between those for any highlights or effects. Repeat for the hair on top of their head, etc.

*I do not recommend anyone try to do this. I once made avatars in MSPaint too, and the differences are similar MSP->Gimp, Gimp->Vectors

Equipment: 8 gauge double barrel shotgun (currently wielding), .44 revolver (in holster) and 2 tomahawks (one on each hip) also has 2 pet hyenas (the hyenas have the same fur coloration as him.

Pose: Shotgun in right hand, barrels resting on the right shoulder. Left hand resting on one hyenas back. One hyena on each side, crouched and growling at the viewer, Stone bull looking at the viewer with a slight smirk.
