I don't suppose the takahe is related to the kiwi? I can't imagine too big of an ecological niche that has to be filled with flightless birds. Looks like not. Must be something in the water. Probably where hobbits come from too.

Actually, they're quite unrelated. The kiwi's in the same group as ostriches, cassowaries, emus and rheas.

But yeah. Loving your work. The penmanship on the kangaroo rat and the other recent mammals is great.

Lessee. 245 is a bobcat, or maybe normal lynx, I forget how short their tales are by comparison. 246 has got to be a wombat, since it looks like a koala/groundhog hybrid. 247 is a wolf of some description. And then 248 is a hornbill. Don't know the exact sort.

Bobcat's eyes are a bit funky, but otherwise it's fine. The wombat looks good, all in all. The wolf is also very good, although the side view's the easiest, perspective-wise (challenge yourself! I challenge you to!) You did a great job on the hornbill; you did the hatching very well, without going overboard. Really, my biggest complaint is just that you drew them on backs of each other. For some media that's fine, or with thicker paper, but the marker was a bit too dark, and it shows through to varying extents in each of them.

The face is just generally too small, yeah. My brother was telling me that, thus the first one today being more dynamic then usual. They're not meant to be masterpieces, so I'm okay with that for now.

So we have a dog, which is probably actually a wolf because I can't tell the difference; a short equiniod that looks like a Shetland Pony and a buffalo, yes?

The buffalo looks a little alien: I think that the head is a bit oddly shaped and there isn't an ear on the near side. I do like the shading, though. The water is a very good background detail: it doesn't detract from the buffalo, but it stands out and enhances the picture.

Going by the tail and missing dorsal stripe, I'm guessing that the Shetland is in fact a Shetland. The white nose and scruffy fur gives it a bit of a resemblence to a donkey, and most of the shetlands I've seen in person were entirely black.

Doggy-wolf is nicely done; the face detail is very good. It's also SOFLUFFY! ahem. In fact, all three of these have cute eyes.
