Yeah...I actually ment it to be multiple parts but this was a corny freestyle writing-off thing, so we kept writing more and more in one go.

Into two parts or so, ending the first part with:

So Arkona's got a new album set for April. Just found this out. This is awesome.

Also I was just listening to their song Na Moyey Zemle from Goi, Rode Goi!, and for the first time ever I realised they have like a billion quest musicians in that song. It happened because I suddenly realised someone was singing in Dutch, and I was going "hang on, this isn't Russian. Hang on, I understand this 0_o". Turns out it's Heidevolk. That's even more awesome.

Their new album is just an acoustic remake of Dead End Kings. It sounds like they just replaced the drums and guitars with some different percussion, acoustic, and strings. I really liked Dead End Kings but couldn't get into this one.

    ...oh. Well that's disappointing.

Why do bands do that? Diary of Dreams did the same thing. Makes people excited for no reason.

Dead End Kings was good though, yeah.

Edit: Also hahaha Iron Savior released a new album. That is all.

Edit2: Guys. I just discovered Evertale. German power metal. They sound like early Blind Guardian with some Gamma Ray thrown in. Very aggressive. It's awesome.

Edit3 (seriously someone else post here before I make any more edits): Also apparently Dornenreich is also releasing a new album in May. This day just keeps getting better.

It's been a while since I peeked into the metal thread, but hi.

Just wanted to say, that if any of you are into progressive metal, you should check out the new Caligula's Horse album "The Tide, The Thief and River's End". Maybe not super heavy all the time (there's a few mellow tracks), but nevertheless fans of Leprous and Karnivool should dig this. Personally, it's about all I've listened to for the last few days (that and Slayer of course ;) ).

Heheh, me too, I had an unfortunate run in with their promo lady in france... So i'm definitely not gunna be dealing with century media, even buying records in the future

Also that whole Tom G Warrior scuffle was frustrating, did anybody else hear about that?

Been listening to a chick called Leah recently (oh, sorry; "LEAH"). Anyone heard of her? Pretty standard gothic/symphonic metal in the vein of Within Temptation or whatever, and a mite poppy. But it's surprisingly well done, and she's got a great voice. Might hold on to this for when the mood strikes me.

    Bastard

Huh. Well, on one hand, good for him; but on the other hand, if people want some sort of compilation, then at least now they have it, regardless of who made it.

I've never cared who I buy my music from, as long as I have it Although I do quite like the Bandcamp system. At least then you can imagine the money goes directly to the artists. Also I have discovered so many new bands on Bandcamp.

Seems like Equilibrium is intending to release a new album sometime this year? Looking forward to that quite a bit. Been listening to their last year's EP. Also they covered Skyrim's theme song? lolwut
