"By the way" seems to be getting shot down, so the current summary stands.

@heavyfuel Thanks for the feedback! We try to reference memorable jokes, but in an index this large, there are going to be some duds. As maintainer, I definitely welcome any suggested changes, and will be amending the #648 summary to include that. If you see any more that seem off to you, feel free to mention them!

I think the adamantine arrows should be mentioned in there somewhere.

I don't quite see why that would be necessary. Haley missed, plain and simple. If the arrows had been mundane, or if they had carried golem-destructing warheads, the result would have been exactly the same, ie "Sploosh! Sploosh! Sploosh!"

That said, thereaper's proposal is fine. No issues if you guys prefer using it.

Yes, we're quite adamant about it.

More seriously, it seems like the type of thing that people will want to reference later - "Doesn't Haley have a habit of carrying around weird metal arrows just in case?" "Yeah, she had adamantium arrows in this strip."

The summary isn't the right medium for this kind of research. A summary can only give a overview of the plot, some highly memorable events, and a very high-level view of character appearances. Usage of such or such arrow doesn't qualify as memorable, imho. If we were to support somebody looking for adamantium, then every summary would have to list unusual weapons, unusual spells, unusual actions, character feelings, you name it. In other words: Familicide is big enough to be mentioned by name in a summary. Adamantine arrows, not so much. (There is a tiny chance that they turn out to be super-important, but we won't know that until later).

If one wishes to find where adamantine arrows were used, a search through WombatOfDoom's transcription (a phenomenal piece of work, I may add) is the correct tool.

The use of wands and adamantine arrows is more memorable than just magic and weapons, because it tells us "Oh, this is the one where they were fighting Crystal".

I don't think anybody needs a reminder of that, not with the summaries for 971 and 972 looking like this:

    971: Crystal Returns
972: Crystal is some sort of innovative golem.

... That said, I don't want to discuss this to death, it's not that big a deal what exact wording we use. I for one don't think it makes for the best possible summary, but if you guys are dead set on sticking the word "adamant" in there somehow, I won't have a heart attack over it

Thanks for the plug and the appreciation for the project! Too bad we aren't edited to that point yet! I've got book 5 ready to post, but I'm waiting on more people to look through previous books to get it up, as I try and keep each book on a seperate thread page, so it won't be interupted by a page end.

There's also this to be considered - while adamantine arrows were indeed used, they didn't actually hit Crystal, so its not like we know if they work or not.

Great to have you back, DaggerPen! I was worried you might have left us

By the way, I think the last comic and its very appropriate summary prove my point about #973: The adamantine arrows were moot, they don't need to be mentioned. Now, a search for adamantine should return #976, the relevant comic on the matter of golem-piercing weaponry.

Typo spotted in #698 - should say "to investigate" rather than "to investigates."

I'd also like to revise my original entry for #902 because I honestly don't even know what I was thinking with that (maybe "however a spider can"?) to read: #902 - The Rift's a no-go. And how do you fight sand anyway?

Depending on what happens, we may need to revise that one if it turns out Haley didn't use Diplomacy but the DC 19 Cha check needed to take temporary control of a berserking golem.

My summary isn't meant to be an exact technical description, nor do I think any summary ever needs to be so, for the purpose we have here. It looks like diplomacy to the non-expert eye, so it's more than good enough to call it that. Maybe the Giant will go back and detail that nuance later... but that's unlikely, imo.
