    I think so.

The other sorts of distinctive not-plot features I could think of would be particularly unusual panel layouts - the strip of Roy falling, the one of the two armies having parallel conversations before the battle of Azure City, the one in the pyramid where the panel layout follows the swirl of the ensorceled eye, etc.

Those are indeed distinctive, but they're also easily referenced in the summaries. The summary for 887, for example, clearly mentions the layout.

I agree. And even when not described as directly as that, the summaries as they exist make it easy to find those distinctive moments, because those special layouts were designed to serve the plot's dramatization: Therefore, the layout is strongly associated with the plot in the mind of the readers.

I think it would be good to include the tiger's name. Also, the summary can be made even more compact by removing some words without changing the meaning:

"Back on the Mechane, Mr. Scruffy shows Little Whiskers who's boss."

While most or all readers should be aware that Mr. Scruffy is the name of a housecat, it's less-well-known that Little Whiskers is the name of a tiger, which I think is important for that sentiment to be communicated clearly. The intention was probably the symmetry of using both given names, but I think it would be better to use both species' common names. I suggest "Back on the Mechane, the housecat shows the tiger who's boss."

By the way, this index has been extremely useful to me.

No, the intention, for what it's worth, is to use the tiger's actual name. Several reasons for that:
    - As a rule, the summaries use names throughout.
    - It's more compact than "Veldrina's tiger" and less ambiguous than "the tiger".
    - It makes search easier.

There's some reason to doubt that, at the very least, this was the whole story. Perhaps "According to Uncle Thirden" or something similar should be put in there?

To account for crayon ambiguity, I propose the following amended version:

991: Uncle "Squeaky" Thirden's account of what happened to Durkon's parents, Sigdi and Tenrin, with subtext.

Frankly, that level of detail belongs in the transcript. When we try to shoehorn every little matter into a summary, we give up on usability.

I don't think the summary needs to be a full and exact account. Also, the doubts you're talking about may well be warranted, but they account to little more than speculation at this point. However, there's a small chance that Thirden's name is useful for search purposes. Let me offer this compromise:

991: Uncle Thirden's account of what happened to Sigdi and Tenrin.

I'm not even sure where it would belong in the transcription...though maybe the Annotation?

Add their last names and its Golden:

Can I suggest we don't use an acronym? Acronyms are for insiders. The audience of the summaries is wider, I think. We can't assume everybody automatically understands "HPOH". I'd write "High Priest of Hel" in full.

I don't have a huge objection to this - it's a bit of a char count squeeze but not terrible. I think we do have some other acronyms hiding throughout, though, so I'll do a thorough comb in the near future.

I took a look, it's not that many, and nearly all are "MitD". Maybe we can grandfather "'MitD" in, since it's been around forever, so I'd expect most readers to know it. Also "CCPD" and "IFCC" are OK, since they appear as acronyms within the comic itself.
