In retrospect... I kind of understand Marten. I mean, he didn't act great, what with forgetting his hook-ups name which is a pretty **** move if he was in it for something more than a random hook up but otherwise I guess he just isn't used to one-night stands. Someone remind me, how long did his thing withe Padma last again?

Isnt SMIF the acronym for the college he works at? And Discus, hanners doesnt count as she isnt even close to ready for a real relationship of that sort. You might as well mention pintsize, winslow, and momo are all single too. The interns sorta count, but knowing marten he has clarie in the same category as hanners, not really in a place for a relationship yet, (I think they talked about that at the party they all went to when she came clean) Emily is single yes, and we dont know about the third one, she hasnt really had any face time after the initial intro arc.

Think of it like a signed integer where negative is tragedy and positive is comedy. Marten just suffered a stack overflow and wrapped around from negative (tragedy) to positive (comedy).

That's not a stack overflow, it's an integer underflow. Much easier to fix (and usually harder to exploit, unless you happen to be playing a game or something...).

A real personality stack overflow would probably just result in a fainting spell or something, or at most some stress-induced amnesia, neither of which are particularly funny all by themselves.

I kind of understand Marten's reaction. There comes a point where you just break and start laughing and not caring anymore.
