Marten hasn't exactly displayed rational thought process when it comes with his dealing with the fairer sex. He's done silly things after another. Padma, his Californian gf, the Hippy Girl, etc.. are all examples of situations of bad calls he made, for various reasons.

He's not exactly qualified to criticize his mother's recent relationship antics.
