WIP setting: The Void

A bit back I had an idea; create a sci-fi world the players would mistake for a fantasy setting.this is just my rough notes and is all WIP.

Basics:
The world is in fact a gigantic generation ship, created millennia ago by an ancient people in a desperate bid to have as many as possible of them escape their dying world. The common man lived in a gigantic biodome thousands of miles across. The people whose jobs it is to keep the ship running lived in the sky less metal box known as the depths. There was one problem with the ship design, it was made for hundreds not thousands of years. The depths radiations sealing and antigravity units weren't up to snuff and a couple failed. Years later, the dome is roughly Iron Age in tech do to the abandonment of the now horribly twisted and mutated engineers. But there are worse and more mysterious things even than the depths and the horrors they contain. A being or as it insist's a state of being known as the void has approached the ship. With the engineers you can recognize the desires of the horrific monstrosities, but the void seems to want nothing but silence and emptiness in the universe...

Note that my factions and elder lists are by no means comprehensive, feel free to use others(like I can stop you).

Overveiw: The dome consists of about 50% water, 50% land with a relatively balanced ecosystem and somewhat varied climates based on the distance from the artificial sun near the center of the bridge of the dome. The most central land is barren desert and the most distant, a frozen tundra. Various factions and nations live together in a constantly tense environment, while war isn't too common, the threat of it is constant. The engineers or "elders" are whorshiped by many as a pantheon of gods.

Factions:
Caelderon: A wooded series of islands connected only by culture and a single king, the caelderains are a loose group of people, with many local leaders. The only time they get together is to fight off enemies or for their famed mass markets, in which a tiny hamlet can be turned into a city of tents and shops.

Skirmishers: The Skirmishers are an even looser ethnic group of desert nomads who specialize in being mercenaries, traders, guides, and all around hands for hire. While they have a rich culture centered around caravans back home, about 10% of them live abroad. It is quite common to see them in any major city. They got their name from their famed mercenaries skill in raids.

Elders:
The belevolent Mother: An engineer who became obsessed with physical perfection, she has no permanent form, for she is constantly "improving" herself. One day she may be a horrendous lizard and the next a floating blob of armored flesh. Her obsession with creating a perfect creature has spawned many a monster in the dark underground labyrinths in which she lives. Her cult is rather secretive and often performs strange experiments on animals or themselves. In fact some of them may no longer be human.

The hidden: Almost nothing is known about him except that he is paranoid enough to keep himself locked away in a secret fortress. He is mainly prayed to by thieves and those who wish to remain hidden. The most disturbing thing about him is that he seems to understand the void far better than the other engineers, and is coincidentally the most paranoid and frightened.
