Relatively low on T1, and at T6, about 25%, iirc.

So if I'm interested purely in efficient time spent/keys obtains, I probably want to hunt them on Torment I - Torment II is about as high as I can go right now.

Another thing I'm unclear about - is there a difference in loot rewards within Torment? I.E., does an item that drops in Torment VI have higher base stats than an otherwise identical item that drops in Torment I? And if so, how do you identity the 't-grade' of a piece of gear?

Gear quality is based solely on level. Higher torment levels don't give you better gear, it just ups the drop rate. (And being in at least Torment 1 opens up access to the Torment only items like class sets).

Higher torment levels are nice because of the huge increases in Gold/Exp/Drop Rates, but if you don't mind taking a while (or are really lucky) you can get full BiS farming Torment 1.

edit: btw page 50. What will the new thread be called?

Diablo III - Thread 2.0 is my vote, but I don't particularly care to start the thread.

    Diablo III: Soul of Grinding

In other news, I have an interesting problem. I got a set pattern for Cain's, which looks pretty nice. However, I'm missing some materials. Not the DB's Not even the Forgotten Souls... nope, I'm missing the Reusable Parts. I've got a Topaz in my hat for magic item find and I can't seem to get a normal item to drop. Heck, I'm getting leggies dropping faster than normals. Does anyone have any tips in getting more normals? Should I play on Normal difficulty with no MIF?

Also, I hit upon a pretty good combo. I got a few +Fire damage items, so I'm running with Blizzard (Apocalypse)/Black Hole (Blazar) and Magic Missile (Conflagrate) as my primary armament, using Arcane Armor (Prismatic) + Magic Weapon (Conduit) as buffs.

Conduit is crack with this build, because blizzard has no cooldown, and hits enemies in a large area frequently, causing massive energy gains with Conduit, causing me to be able to spam Blizzard (Apocalypse) really harshly. Nothing like having a dozen blizzards simultaneously to start stripping the opponent's life fairly rapidly. Blazar goes off on cooldown against named, or if I just have some annoying things running around that I want to pin down for a bit. No legendaries worth mentioning anymore, but everything is at least Rare.

Looking at around 189k DPS and 5.97M toughness at the moment.

From what I remember the act V nephalem tombs are your best bet. A run through clicking on the weapon racks should drop a fair amount. Also make sure you don't have a puzzle ring on :P.

Yeah, as Seerow said, there's nothing like Diablo 2's "normal nightmare hell" tiers of gear. Just the level you are when it drops.

My general rule is to play at the highest level that gives you the experience you want. If that's drawn out slugfests, push it as high as you can handle. If it's mow down stomp fests, drop the difficulty a bit. Playing in a way you like will generally have you playing more, and thus getting more drops.

Indeed, it died because the game itself almost died due to the horrible implementation of the AH and the loot system surrounding it. It could have been something truly great too.

I rather liked the auction house. Right now my gold is begining to feel useless once more.

Another good place for normal farming is the battlefields of eternity in act V. All those decaying armors.

I know, but I've reached the point where all my Emeralds for my monk are glued together and I have all the affixes I want on my items, if not the maximum values. I could start a new toon and glue my other gems together, but I like my monk so much!
