Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
He voted for bladescape since he knows he's dangerous and can't be assured he's on his side (oh English and your ambiguous pronouns...). People took that as a way to get dangerous people out of the game, which is good for town if they're wolves but good for wolves if they're town. At this point, there's not much of a reason behind many of the votes, aside from people disagreeing with Helgraf (though the reverse situation is about as bad in my opinion: I don't like seeing new players die early...).
Well, being first lynch (or NK...) is always horrible, as no one wants to leave a game they just started, but there's not much evidence for anyone else. Right now we have Helgraf wagon for above reasons and bladescape wagon for "pressure" as of Gnrlshrimp. That said, bladescape's probably asleep right now, so we won't get much response from him for a few hours at least.

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
This is a common fallacy. Why would suspicions on the second day magically be more valid than ones on the first day? On the second day, we'll have more information which means we might possibly have better targets, but if we lynch randomly on day one and the wolves roll dice to kill in the night, we won't actually have any more information on the second day. And there is no fundamental difference in any case, between the information we have now and the information we will have later, there is just the quantitative difference that later we will have more of it. That does not mean we should not direct our attention today according to what we know today. The only truly random point in a game is the very first point of the very first day.*
*And even this is debatable. A counterexample: Player A knows Player B is online when game starts, and knows from previous games that as a villager Player B wants to vote very early and be loud about it, even when they're willing to change their vote later as the day develops. Player A waits for a while, but several hours later Player B still hasn't responded. So Player A puts the first vote into the thread at Player B, using the reasoning that Player B would've voted already if they were a villager.

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
I'm going to switch to Zar Peter because I don't know if I've ever played with Helgraf before (if so it's been a while) and because Zar Peter singled me out, trying to make a thing out of my random vote. Also maybe I'll earn the friendship of our mystery day vote powerole. (Or at least they won't target me next.)

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
His attempts to strike up conversation having failed, Disc Lorde decided to see whether he could still do magic. Mentally going over his list of spells, he discovered that he remembered all his old ones...plus one more.
"Summon Plot Exposition?"
He cast it. A scroll appeared in front of him, explaining the place where he was and telling about the Reinholdt incursion.
"Well, that was interesting."

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
So, if I or anyone else currently switches off Helgraf wagon and not on bladescape or Zar Peter, we'll have a triple lynch day one.
I'm not sure we want that, given the quality of our suspicions right now...

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
"Hmm. Excuse me, what's that cat's name?"
"Rasmus"
"Hmm, thatRasmus
fellow looks like he's got something to hide. I see some cats are building a wagon around a cat they're calling bladescape, but he's being pretty silent. If we leave him alone, maybe he'll just fade away on his own (be autolynched) or maybe he's in deep thought (busy with real life) in which case it would be unsporting to lynch him now and we should wait until he comes to."
"Meow!" *pounces on catnip and chews it up* "...Why did I do that?"
OOC: Mostly-joke for the first day because
1) This is supposed to be a fun, silly, lighthearted game.
2) I don't really have any good leads ATM.
And I'll be trying to avoid a tie. If no one switches onto my wagon I'll switch onto another.Last edited by Disc Lorde; 2014-03-13 at 09:21 PM.

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
Have two people remove their voted for Helgraf and just kill of 5 or 6 cats. Seems legit.
You know, Aric chuckles, lazily opening one eye, back when I was a prince, the battles got pretty nasty. S'why I have this shield. An old family heirloom, designed to protect against scratching cats and biting dogs. I've saved many lives with this thing...

Oh, I cast my suspicions on reaverb, because he seemed so quick to point fingers. Of course, I have now heard evidence for and against him, but I will maintain my vote. After all, it's only the first day... Aric pulls a rag and bottle of polish out of...his fur? His shield has hair all over it.

I also agree the Ramsus vote is discussion worthy, especially seeing as he's an experienced player, so should be providing more discussion than just a random vote at a newcomer, of all people. Hrmm...
But, I think I'll stay on my original so as not to upset and make a lot of people die with a tie.The statement below is true

We could kill everyone!

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
Hmm, I'd rather not lynch Helgraf as I don't see a good reason to lynch him IC or OOC. We don't have reason to think he's a Reinholdt and a lynch on him wouldn't be very entertaining.
There's still time left in the day and I'm not going to let it end in a tie. If you put a third vote on Rasmus it might change things.
And since night is coming up, I'd like to ask that any Catopians with a "vigilante" role that gives them a night kill hold their fire until they have good reason to believe that someone is a Reinholdt. Otherwise you're more likely to hit a Catopian.

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
So... you agree with me that there's no real reason to lynch Helgraf. But then think we should lynch me instead because.... I random voted on day 1 (what a crime, nobody else did that surely) and decided we shouldn't lynch Helgraf and switched my target to someone who sounded wolfish by trying to make something out of nothing? By that obtuse logic should you not be encouraging people to lynch yourself?
Edit: Seriously, I would like to play, go bother someone who isn't contributing anything if you're that hungry to make something out of nothing.Last edited by Ramsus; 2014-03-13 at 07:47 PM.

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
I'll add to that that the Reinholdts almost certainly have a disguiser and we almost certainly have a fool, so don't trust your scry results.
While I am somewhat tempted to vote for Ramsus, I believe I remember him making the exact same kind of vote in previous games. The intention is not to lynch new players on their first day, since the vote will likely not gain traction. It's essentially a throwaway, which doesn't present much of a reason to lynch him. If I'm interpreting this wrong Ramsus, let me know.
Anyways, LoP answered my query so I'll move my vote from her and put it on Cristo Meyers. I haven't noticed anything that stands out as particularly wolfish...unfortunately the bandwagons haven't really developed enough, and I don't think they can in time for it to help much. I'll put a vote on Tom the Mime I think. I trust my hunches when it comes to Tom and my hunch this game is that he's a wolf.Awesome Lion Avatar by the wonderful Mr. Saturn. Thanks

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
Alright, so despite not being really dangerous since my return to the Playground (Rather because of my extremely limited time) I honestly take those points more on a pride moment. But when I've made it fairly abundantly clear I've been less than active so far due to my life, I find this vote:
Irritating. Since yes, of frigging course I haven't said much.
Anyways, since I think Shrimp hasn't played much with me, I'll let that slide.
What has pinged my radar is the rather interesting jumps on the Helgraf wagon by both Arkhosia and DLD.
I'd honestly rather get Tom the Mime than any other target right now."Trust bladescape, Shadow of Doubt,"

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
There's no reason to be sarcastic, or to make unfounded guesses as to my motivation. Really, my only reason to vote for you was that I thought it would be fun because I could justify it IC. I don't really think you're a wolf more than Helgraf, but if I can't do something that's game-winning I could at least do something that (I think would be) fun. Look, it's a game, and someone has to be lynched, so chill out a bit please.
I was gunning for you a bit more than was warranted, and for that I apologize.
Huh, why? His only post was that one where he made a joke vote. Does he not normally play like that?

Re: Cat Fight II - Attack of the Reinholdts - Game On
I don't know if I'd say that...and it is a much lighter game so even more serious players may be inclined to joke vote, but I couldn't find much through logic so I decided to go with gut for this phase and gut says Tom the Mime's our guy. If I could explain it, I would have.
