There is a knock on the door, followed by the person letting themselves in. A 'Tiefling' in street clothes, a bit over six feet tall, she looks around, pleased. There are a few oddities: the texture on her horns is a bit off, and her eyes have pupils, but apart from that she seems natural enough.

"Nice place you have," She muses aloud, "Quite presentable."

"Why thank you. Comes with having a fair amount of money packed away for later use," Trick says, taking her feet off the desk. A thing I forgot to mention is that there's a chair in front of the desk as well, though not as stylish or well designed, "I just hope someone picks up on the Ad soon. Nothing more boring than sitting quiet all day."

The woman, a red-skinned beauty with emerald green eyes, shoulder-length brown hair, and ram's horns. Clad in an orange sweater, black pants, brown boots, and fingerless black gloves.

As the other tiefling opens the door, Trick looks towards her. The investigator was standing at her alchemy table, mixing potions when the other tiefling came in. she quickly finishes what she was doing, setting a just to a slow drip, "Hello there. What can I do for you, then?"

"All the same, trying to find a job for my set of skills is... difficult. I have yet to find any group that could use my skills. I would look into the local legislature, but there isn't much use for lawyers here. Not unless they're familiar with demonic law. I've looked into it, and while not the most complex legislative system I've seen it would require a large amount of research," The tall tiefling sighs.

Misaka says, grinning.

"Come on, then!" Cerise lead Misaka through the city of Inside, into alleyways and up ladders, eventually arriving at a tall observatory. It's a building designed to stare at the stars, so it makes sense to be so tall. There's a ladder leading onto the roof, and Cerise will help her friend to get up there.

On top, it's a beautiful view of both the sky and the skyline, with lights shimmering everywhere. "Here we are..."

Well there is plenty of room around Astrid. The fire will keep a safe distance from the two of them. It continues to swirl around them protecting them from the monsters Astrid is imagining. She still looks very upset, though it might be harder to tell through the gas mask. "What is happening?"

Nort stops as he starts starts to feel sick from the waves of nausea. He takes a second to let his stomach settle before turning his gaze sphere. He pulls out a device that looks like a Geiger counter. He uses it to scan the sphere to double check to see if it an inter-dimensional portal or something like that.

The sphere roils and shimmers wildly, emitting a nauseating aura. Or perhaps that's the gore splattered across the stage...

At any rate, the monsters seem to be forming a distance away from the sphere, and don't approach it.

Mister Steward continues to roll himself forward, but he stops when he gets close to the sphere. He then raises a hand, but doesn't bring it close to the sphere, he's trying to mystically examine it.

[Yellow Zone]

A man walks down the street, obviously in a hurry (considering his brisk pace and briefcase in hand). He walks down the street, and...hm. Interesting. There's someone playing some music on the street. It sounds sad...but kind-of good. Jacques, the man, drops a handful of coins in front of the musician before hurrying on his way.

Three blocks later...
The music came back again. Is that the same person, there on the other side of the street? Probably not, that would make no sense...it's the same soulful song, and the same music.

Strange.

A block later...the music's coming from behind him. He turns around and notices a sitting cellist behind him. Wait, how did that person get there? It's a woman, right?

Jacques looks back forward, and picks up his pace. He's almost there. Only a bit further...he's almost there. He looks at his pocketwatch: oh, shoot! He only has four minutes! He'll have to take a shortcut.


One man enters the alleyway.


Several minutes later, two cellists leave the alleyway.

The blow is entirely deflected, in fact. The blade Harnel is using is an anti-magic material, and actively disrupts the magic it comes into contact with, at least for the moment needed for a parry.

Harnel isn't surprised that the knight took such a blow and still kept coming, but with that elbow, his luck is likely about to run out. Harnel's left wing will move in front, and sweep the arm to the side as the half-dragon himself sidesteps, moving himself behind the knight. However, he remains too close to adequately use a weapon - even his claws aren't terribly useful at this range - and instead opts to put the knight in a chokehold with his left arm. His right brings the pommel of the shortsword to the knight's shoulder. Specifically, on his sword arm's shoulder.

The pommel strike by itself isn't intended to have much effect; it's setting up for a much more dangerous attack. With the click of a button on the sword's hilt, a slight shift of the grip, a spiked pole will shoot out of the base of the small weapon. Harnel designed this weapon for several purposes - the first, as a shortsword, the second, as a spear, and the third, as a quarterstaff. However, given the speed and force of the extending mechanism, he opted to put a spike at the base of the spear, for just such a maneuver as this.

Harnel is purposefully missing vitals with this strike, but a few things to keep in mind - this weapon is pure adamantine, meaning it at once disrupts magic it comes into contact with and shears through metal and stone as easily as most blades cleave through flesh. That said, Harnel is purposefully missing vitals here - if the attack works, it should shear clean through the man's shoulder blade and much of the muscle in his upper right back and chest. Harnel still has questions for this man, and a little magic will fix whatever injury Harnel puts to him if they can resolve their differences.

With all his weight and momentum leading into his strike, the knight is caught overextended when Harnel deftly sweeps him to the side and steps past his guard. Unable to regain his balance in time, he's grabbed around the throat, and the adamantine multiblade comes down towards his shoulder-

"Fort."

Runes of white flame burst across the surface of his shield. A bubble of energy blooms from the crest at it's center, and explodes outwards in a concussive blast that knocks Harnel's weapon away before it can draw blood. The windows of the nearby storefronts blow out and car alarms go off all down the street, and as for Harnel... Well, Harnel has the misfortune to be standing directly behind, and right up close with the knight, putting the epicenter of the blast point-blank to his chest.

It's an enchantment meant to help in fighting dragons -the full grown sort- by breaking him free from a hold. Considering the force necessary for that, it's hardly going to be pleasant. Even the knight, shielded from the brunt of the shockwave, has the misfortune to still have Harnel's arm around his throat.

Although I won't hazard the actual physics of that, I'd imagine that even if Harnel loses his grasp, as is likely, the knight is going to be thrown quite some ways himself.

Harnel is indeed tossed, but doesn't lose his grip on the knight's neck. He's taken the brunt of much worse blows than this, and he took the blow to the dense plated scales on his chest, rather than to his hands and claws as would be common; certainly dangerous to have a closed hand around that kind of force, as the hand bones, even those of a dragon, are more delicate and less protected by scales. He loses his grip on his blade, however, which gets sent off towards the curb.

Now, Here's an idea of what might happen. The dragon hunter will be pushed one way, and Harnel the other, but with Harnel strengthening his grip to hold on, the blast will likely be directed down, away from the Half-dragon's ludicrously strong headlock. This'll knock the feet out from both of them, and the landing on the ground will likely result in Harnel laying on his stomach, with the knight laying on his back, Harnel's arm still on top of the knight's neck, but easy enough to escape from the stunned half-dragon, coughing as he is from taking an impact like that to the gut.

Marciano blinks before sighing loudly, rolling his eyes and settling down deeper into his couch, his posture slumping comfortably. Aheh. Nice try, kid. These things are very rare... It was gettin' pretty messy up there. I would've stopped to check some of the old codgers sitting around for car keys and valuables and stuff, but by then it was raining kidneys, so I decided just to run.

Howeeeever, reports are coming in that the lootin's going extremely well. I'll make quite the profit. Aaaall thanks to our cooperation. Then, his eyes flash up to the screen. The News Ate footage was showing!

Channel Ate

The van slams into a lightpole sideways, denting the side of the van in and knocking video equipment over the reporters inside even as the cameras are rolling live.

The wyverns descend, ripping through the dented open door and shattering the windshield, and induldge in their carnivorous hunger for all watching Channel Eight to see. They go for the softer organs first, thankfully lungs are included and the screams quickly die down to gurgles, easily drowned out by the wyverns' happy chirping.

Ritz Casino Bunker

Jack tosses his cigar aside, accepting the new one and the seat graciously, lighting it with a snap of his fingers and inhaling the smoke deeper than he should with no I'll effect. When he sighs and smiles, the smoke escapes between his cartoonishly large, white, and pointy teeth.

"Bloodier than a strict pimp's backhand, my friend. Those ladies you gifted me so graciously did their jobs spectacularly. It's turning out even better than I'd hoped."

The sound of the riots and the nightmares fades away here, the violent screams that split the night deafened at the barrier of willow trees that forms the park's outer edges. The only sound here is music; Slow and steady, calm and serene. It's the sound of a hundred voices raised as one, and as it drifts from the park, more come to join in the chorus, bleary-eyed from their delusions but pulled forward inexorably by the song.

They gather at the center of the green, expressions blank and postures slumped, seemingly lost in the song they sing. It's a spellsong, a little white magic that worms it's way in at the ears and calms the mind, takes the listener to a comforting, familiar place, where all they need do is sing along. A spell originally meant for mischief, but now it holds those who hear it safe from the effects of the nightmare toxins.

The conductor of it all, directing from the stage of an old outdoor amphitheater, is an distinguished gentleman with bright silver hair, his movements spry and energetic despite his age. With a slender baton of carved ivory he leads his choir, and a strange light surrounds him, casting every shadow into a sharp and unearthly focus.

The knight, thankfully, recieves the benefit of a properly reinforced neck brace built into his armor. Otherwise, things would likely end here with his neck snapped like a twig in the scuffle. Even so there's an ugly dent the shape of Harnel's forearm along the front.

Still moving sluggishly, the knight uses his sword as a crutch to aid in climbing back to his feet. He retreats a few steps, moving to put himself squarely in the way of Harnel retrieving the adamantine blade, and takes a ready stance. This isn't over yet.

"Well, actually, we might just be able to help you after all. What principles does your magic work on, m'dear? Hand movements? The spoken word?" The hologram asks.

The demons will see KR floating several meters below them, encased in a translucent force bubble. What they might not see is the concussion grenade floating just near them, outside the bubble.

The grenade detonates, creating a cavity of high-pressure gases under the water, which quickly collapses, sending out a high-pressure shockwave that may cause the two diving demons a good deal of grief, engulfed as they are in a substance that is well-suited to transmitting such high-pressure shockwaves.

[Augmentation Tower]

"I make pacts with entities and they honor their agreement. It's basically just contacting them and forming some form of agreement, I can't really use magic myself." She explains. "Just having other beings do it for me."

[Cliffs]

The demons have a suicidal focus at KR at the moment and don't notice much beyond their prey, so the grenade catches them by surprise blinding and fracturing a couple of their bones as they're hit by the shock wave.

They will fail around some but will likely not cause her any more trouble for this scene.

The rest of the pack keep flying above the surface however, actually splitting to cover more ground. They seem to be counting on that the wizard eventually have to get up.

Meanwhile at the cliffs the landbound demons are quickly attempting to perform a very hastily formed ritual of some sort, KR will likely not be able to see this however.
