Although I am assuming they are excluding Odivallus since he had been a dumbie from before they met him and has only now been cured. Thus they didn't really get a chance to know him.

That would be really cool. I don't know much about 4e, what classes would round out the team best given the current lineup?

Not really viable. The way things scale in 4E, a 1st level character wouldn't be able to do anything to whatever a 5th-6th level party encounters (e.g. the last story arc). He could contribute with skills, but they have pretty much everything covered. He could contribute with rituals, but I really can't see how he would perform them. He could contribute with minor buffs and utility powers, which would make Cleric the ideal choice. However, that would also make him a target. The two ways I can see him go are to become a familiar (just a feat away), or to stay as the comic relief.

Couldn't he just do a minor thing that doesn't draw a lot of attention to him every so often in combats the higher level party members are having, and gain disproportionate XP that way since he participated in a much higher CR then his level encounter?

You know, at first he'd be leveling up every 1 or 2 fights till he got in a range were he could contribute?




As an aside I think they'd benefit most from a Controller or another Leader type myself, but I'm not much of a 4E fan.

I recently got caught up on this comic, and I have to say I love it so far. Ardon is continually interesting even though he is the archetypical psycho, and the other characters are great. I am excited to find out what happens in this "Evil Circus" which was possibly the most hilarious comedic reveal that I have ever seen.

Oh my. On one hand, I am very interested how the Abyss looks in Will Save World For Gold. On the other hand, I hope that they manage to save all the visitors and the innocent circus workers before sundown.

It's gonna depend on if they can kill the clowns fast enough I'd wager. On the bright side, if they do go to the abyss, they could 1: Stumble across useful info for Odi's quest or what's going on with 45 or Ardon, or 2: at the very least, come out of this all like, level 6 and some change.

Yeah… I really hate it when in stories the protagonists surrender because of hostages when there is no reason to believe that will do more than delay the fate of the hostages, especially if they would have won. It works out for them because it's a story but still really stupid. I guess here I would accept a counter proposal of "You harm them and we kill you anyway, but you let us and the audience go and we won't kill you in return" They could try to catch them later. But if he actually drops his weapon I will be annoyed.
