Um, maybe? Got any ideas about what kind of demon? My demons are typically reincarnated souls of dead mortals that gain power from defeating and absorbing the essence of other demons or similar creatures, meaning most powerful demons are actually amalgamations of multiple souls. Shadowcaller's got their own type, and Wolfy's more familiar with Warhammer type daemons than I am.

Anyway, I'm familiar enough with several different franchises with demons in them to feel comfortable running them.

To be perfectly honest, I kinda ruined the daemons from Warhammer/Warhammer 40k when I brought some to Nexus. >.>

I dislike much of their fluff and reasoning, so while I've taken the ideas that they are primordial beings born of emotions and experiences, I've tossed out much of the One-Sidedness they tend to have. That said, if you need another player or help coming up with ideas, I'm game for either one.

And it's more going back to their original forms- Khorne wasn't always just anger, hatred and bloodshed; once He was honour, fair play and chivalry, too, and His champions only fought those that could fight back effectively. But that was mostly before I was born, and I don't know where I heard that.

Besides, I prefer Tzeentch because I'm a crap general and, that way, I can claim that my defeat furthers the plans of my patron.

You know the transformer possessor role from the Fiendish Codex? That's sort of what I'm looking for, but instead of subjugating the host personality, the demon merges with it.

Then again, Jezebel ranks as one of my favorite PCs in the Nexus, next to Magtok and Clarissa. So I may be biased.

It was one of three demonic NPC prestige classes designed specifically to screw PCs over.

Specifically, it was a six(?) level class where the abilities followed the demon slowly taking control of a mortal, granting the mortal shell demonic abilities in the process, with the capstone giving the demon complete control.

Not exactly. That was the Fiend Folio version. In the 3.5 Fiendish Codex, it was changed to a template allowing a possessing fiend to either ride, help, harm, control or transform their host. The transformation option is particularly mean to the PCs because it causes the demon possessing them to make the host's body into a form they like while also taking complete, irrevocable control of said body.

So, maybe a bit like my Karkassoliths? Think Dam'Bul, though I haven't played him in an age so you might not be familiar. Anyway, Dam'Bul is a demon that cannot manifest outside the Abyss for more than about an hour, so possesses people to control them instead. Since he met Nephrim, he usually eats the native soul so he has permanent and full-time control of the host; before that, he stayed submerged until he could wreak some mischief and get it blamed on his host- or better, a nearby innocent.

Umm...As for a point on the pointy/seducy scale, Marilith. Not a seducy as a succubus, but not pointy enough to not be humanoid-ish. Make sense?

Oh, and Morty, I support your idea wholeheartedly. Perhaps you could separate basic, tech, magic, and powers into four separate categories, so as to make things fair for everyone?

I don't think strict separation is that good an idea, since there's nothing wrong with a psion fighting a wizard or a martial artist fighting a mad scientist. But some categories would be in order.

@Earl: Yeah, the Khorne thing always annoyed the crap out of me. It seems there are only vague references to Khornate Champions who fight with honor and aren't pure berzerkers. I've always thought that the latter were just...I dunno. Less worship and simply using Khorne as an excuse to kill people. Much like Jezebel's view of Slaanesh. Sure, Slaanesh was the god of Excess and Gluttony, but being the latter was just self-indulgent for their own sake instead of actively worshiping the deity.
