Alright, so, based on the impressive investigative abilities of my latest PC (which frankly came as a bit of a shock to me but make very much sense in context), a Tiefling Warlock named Trick, I've decided she's going to open up a Private Investigator's office. It'll give all those folks with mystery plots but no way to implement them someone to go to.

I'm just trying to decide where exactly she'd open her business. Inside is full up to the Gills with weird stuff, so it makes a good spot, but Riverside is more stable and thus supports the investigative aesthetic a bit better. Skyside is... well, actually I haven't looked into Skyside yet, so I don't really know anything about it.

But no, the college is for the beginning of a plot I've planned for some time, and Hatter has...expanded on it more than I ever could've hoped.

Handwaving to Inside, for I just posted. I'm guessing it'd be best for the Water Plant takeover to be done handwave, for it'd be tedious to say all the different ways the goons would kill the workers.

Anyway, here's the plan so far...

1. Goons will be situated all over Inside to prepare for looting and stealing./Marciano will have secretly invested in stock against the College by then, though his main account will be invested in the College, making it appear he'd lose money by the destruction of the device.

2. Special Goons will break into the Water Treatment Plant and use explosives to break into the main piping.

3. Powerful Hallucinagens will be quickly spread through the water all over Inside. (These hallucinogens overstimulate adrenaline and anger, as well as causing anyone effected to see horrible twisted monster things.)

4. As the city begins to panic, Jack would hit the reality-portal thing and make a huge mess.

5. By now half the city would be probably armed and going out to kill or hide. People would see other people as being horrible monsters. Probably a fair amount of death would occur./The goons would move in to loot everything.

6. A team of reporters in the pocket of Marcy and his Criminal Syndicate will mysteriously be the only team to be able to televise the incidents, due to Jack's 'dealing' with other news teams.

7. Marcy and co will run and hide away in a bunkhouse, and wait for it all to be over/Goons will report to hidden areas to drop off loot and be paid./Marciano and Jack will meet in the bunker and split loots.

8.???

9. PROFIT.

This IS a plot that will effect Inside, and it has been discussed with Happy, Wolfbane, and of course Techno.

You don't have to participate if you don't want.

Skyside is grimy, corporate skulduggery and a hundred young minds, each convinced of their own genuis, slaving away for a chance, any chance to strike it big. A private eye would fit right in.

On the other hand, less going on there than Inside. Also less interaction politics than Riverside.

I will admit though I am curious at what Arkant wants. He already mindscrewed Celica so she would give up the hero-ing and never come back instead of getting her name out of her when he could. He clearly succeeded, so why's he curious about it now?
But alas, like I said, my curiosity does not make my minotaur a detective.

It's not very strange that he didn't get the name. Back then he focused on his mind manipulation. Also, how can he know it worked? Yes she didn't appear again, but that's no proove. And he may got other reeasons as well.

How so? I ask because Channel 13 MagNews is a thing I've used every now and then, and while I can understand them showing up late, missing out on the party entirely seems a bit odd.

@MadHatter: We didn't actually discuss all that much since you kept falling from IRC and I never had the chance to point out that after so many Apocalypses and such, much of Inside probably has filtration systems in place. It's something Rem would at least have started to provide. I doubt the hallucinogens would hit the entire city at least. The "Red Zone" area would likely be hit fairly hard, the "Yellow Zone" only moderately, and "Blue" would be the least affected. That's not to say there won't be sections of Blue hit, just that it's not as likely. The Zone system also only represents areas of influence from Remnant/Irregulars, not wealth, so there's probably also quite a bit of wealth to be had in Red Zone.

It should also be noted that Rem facilities, even their civilian peacekeepers and firebugs would have their own filtering systems.

This is just my two cents however and it can be assumed that Rem will likely be fairly busy dealing with any riots/outbreaks/etc that occur. Probably too busy to hunt down a small group of thieves in the midst of it all.

@Recaiden, Arkhosia, and Magtok: Alright, I suppose we have something of a conundrum now. When we started the "Going into labor" scene, it had appeared as if the Ashna/Magtok/Dipsnig/Jezzy scene was pretty much dead and after a month I wasn't going to ask Ark to keep waiting a second time as it wouldn't have been fair. However, I had been under the impression that perhaps Dipsnig/MERC would accept the mission and if need be, someone could be added retroactively to the birth scene if Ark didn't mind.

After talking to Morty though, he's told me there's very little chance MERC would accept the mission simply because of the possible relation to an Apocalypse.

So...well, I don't know how to handle the issue now and wanted to get your opinions. Especially since I know that Ark and MadHatter have something they want to start as well. I just don't believe it'd be appropriate to pause the scene for another month which is why I've brought this to OOC.

Hmm... a quick meeting between Dena and Dipsig and other high-up members to decide?
If it is not accepted: The Lotus Gardens do have some people with skills with weapons... maybe a few of them (a couple of them could even be some of the slaves!) are in charge of dealing with any kid issues?
