Pretty sure it's one of the guys he summons in his final smash. I think they said his name in the trailer, but don't remember it myself.

The yellow furbal (Riki) and man (Dunban) are two of the party members you get in Xenoblade chronicles.

And honestly the Japanese voice acting is much better.

All I can say is, that was some QUALITY voice acting.

That voice may be even more annoying than Sonic's continuous taunts on how slow I am. Crimony, that guy sounds off.

I wonder if we'll have the option for Japanese dialog? It didn't used to be the case, but with recent games having that option (e.g. Fire Emblem) it's something we may have available.

On the other hand, that may be weirder since almost all the characters in Smash are ones where I'm far more familiar with their dub voices.

Finally watched some videos of the 3DS Smash and was pleasantly impressed. There's a noticeable difference in graphics quality from the Wii U, obviously, but everything looked quite smooth and easy to tell what's going on. Seeing it on a small 3DS screen may take some of that away, but it still solidifies my decision to grab the 3DS version over the Wii U one.

We already know that, thanks to the leak: it's everyone announced so far except for Lucina. The unlockable characters are Lucina, the remaining veterans who aren't cut, and the unannounced newcomers.

Personally, I still really wish that everyone was just unlocked from the start, so we wouldn't need to go through the trouble of unlocking them. Or that they'd at least offer a free DLC that automatically unlocks everyone, for those who would rather not have to. But what can you do?

Every weekday for quite some time now (possibly since E3 2013?) Sakurai has been posting a screenshot of the game to Miiverse and the official site for the game. Usually it's nothing interesting, occasionally it is. It's like a half-assed version of the Dojo from the pre-Brawl days.

Pic of the day. This time, you can challenge every fighter in All-Star Mode from the moment you turn on the game!! This is a survival battle with limited recovery items and no option to continue. However, this mode will be incomplete until you've unlocked every fighter... Until then, you can only play against characters that are already available. This is a picture of the bottom-screen menu, with a padlock indicating that the mode is still incomplete.

In these battles, multiple opponents appear in one stage, and you clear the battle by defeating a number of them. The rest area that appears between battles displays the next opponents and the year the characters made their first appearances, and it also holds recovery items and an occasional reward. The characters you fight against appear pretty much in chronological order. Behold, the history of Nintendo games!!

Huh. I wasn't even aware there was an image of All Star mode among the leak, honestly - nobody ever talked about it in the discussions I've seen I suppose. Still, it doesn't necessarily mean that, since the images don't all have to have been taken at the same time. It does give me slightly more hope for that other leak that the big one lines up with being real though. Which would be nice, since I would very much like to have Mewtwo back, and I know many people would be happy to have Ridley.

Hey, in any of the preview tournaments we've seen, did King Dedede get a Smash Ball? This page seems to have a new Final Smash for him, which involves a long-distance inhaling and some sort of smash, I don't remember hearing anything about that. Then again, I'm forgetful about things.

Yay! Finally got to see dome duck hunt and bowser jr footage for smash. I like the character concepts. Cant wait to try them out.

So, seeing the trickle of character confirmations as the early-release guys unlocked them made me realize something that is kind of a double-edged sword for me. All of the newcomers I'm interested in are in the starting roster. Which is good, because it means I can try them out immediately. But on the flip side, it means that the task of unlocking characters will be that much more tedious, since I don't expect to play most of them - just Falco, Ness, and ROB, really, who are all veterans. I guess there's always the chance I end up liking Bowser Junior or Duck Hunt, but I'm not currently expecting it.

Just another reason to wish they'd do away with the whole practice of locking characters in the first place I guess. But that'll happen about the same time that Ganondorf actually gets his own moveset.

Same reason they did in Brawl: they want to show off the exciting characters before the game releases to get people hyped, but for some reason they refuse to reveal unlockable characters before release. (Except Lucina this time around, oddly. Not sure what's up with that.) So we end up with the unlocks being mostly veterans, with just a few newcomers, including our surprise oddball character (ROB last time, Duck Hunt this time).

Of course, not helping this time is the return of clones who account for several unlockables, which have always been underwhelming. Brawl was at least a step in the right direction there, ditching Doc, Roy, and Pichu, plus giving some new moves to Falco and making sure Lucas and Wolf had fully unique normals, even if it did leave Ganondorf largely unchanged and just swapped Young Link for Toon Link. But now Smash 4 puts Doc back in and adds two more clones, Lucina and Dark Pit, while still leaving Ganondorf, and for some reason dropping Lucas and Wolf but keeping Toon Link. Just a baffling set of decisions there.
