Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
Why not this SI might be a better question, friend. It has all of the hallmarks for a great ingredient; terrible,, but with a few redeeming qualities. That, and I felt like a bruiser for people's exams were pretty fitting.
I'm going to read up on the 3.0 version of Dwarven Defender, along with the 10ft step rules and get back to you guys either tonight or tomorrow.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
I've got a build done, I just have to format and fluff it and make a handful more decisions, then submit it.
The Vissini is strong in me, though.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
Hope DD will have something at least half as interesting as the past DMG prcs got in Iron Chef (A Shadowdancer that stole buildings, an Arcane Archer that made blizzards out of nowhere and an Assassin that killed people remotely with spoons).

Build submitted! That was a lot less painful than I thought it would be!

I think I'm in this round. I have the glimmerings of an idea in my mind, just gotta find the... um... THINGS... to make the THING... work.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
I really hope the silly thing I have going for this build isn't the same silly thing others have alluded to, or I will be disappointed.
If it is not however, this is going to be glorious. If my text is blue, I'm being sarcastic. But you already knew that, right?

I had the same problem, Seerow. I just ended up slapping the Vizzini in me and building something crazy fun and submitting it.

Just submitted my build. That wound up being a lot of fun.
I have one more silly idea that I might follow up on, but I really should be doing other things. If my text is blue, I'm being sarcastic. But you already knew that, right?

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
Wow, people are submitting pretty quickly for this one.
After 4 hours, I've finally figured out how to make the feats work, and I am incredibly pleased.Last edited by Ikeren; 2014-04-21 at 03:25 AM.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
Got my builds done and submitted, had time this weekend and such to finish them, which was good. I hope they do well.
Anyone judging so far?I am what lurks under your bridge, I am the troll...

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
For the 5ft step ruling:
If the action could be used in place of a 5ft step, consider it fair game. So while Travel Devotion would not work (because it's a swift action), something like a DC 40 Tumble could be used with no problem.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
Just finished the build, chart, and highlights, just need to fluff it out. In the end, I'm remarkably pleased with how it turned out. With slight tweaks, I'd actually vaguely consider playing this in a real (lowish-op) game.

Writing up fluff and level breakdown now. This marks the first time that I am certain* someone else has done the same build. Here's hoping I do well anyway.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
Those prerequisites are vile. BAB requirements are horrendous, worse than skill ranks IMO, because you can at least account for skill ranks in several without "bab grabs"(say that out loud without laughing, I dare you). Especially odd ones, and especially those that high
Poor feats I can deal with.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
I've got one dish in. I have a couple more sketched out, but I'm probably not going to do another full write-up, especially since I'm trying to get a Junkyard Wars entry in as well. If no one else does anything similar, I'll post the stubs after the reveal.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
I'm torn here.
On one hand I have an interesting idea for my entry and am over halfway done.
On the other hand, there has been plenty of interest in entering but no one has specifically said they would judge yet.
I don't want my entry to go to waste but it wouldn't matter if nobody's builds got judged. And that would not be fair to everyone else.Chairman emeritus for Zinc Saucier.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
so far my 2 attempts at a build have fallen apart, one was too weak and the other didn't need the SI. If I can't get together a build I'll throw in my hat to judge. though it'll be my first time judging so i'll have to look at old judging criteria and find one that matches my own thoughts.

Re: Iron Chef Optimization Challenge in the Playground LVI
Chairman... how is my private question on ruling going? I'm jumping hops to fit every damn level in the build
I don't know if I will have things ready for submission but I hope that I will be able to provide a sketch of what I was going for after the reveal. A LOT of work just fell on my plate. Thanks a lot Gengy for the awesome... just a sec... avatar. :)
