Thorael lets out a gasp as the troll makes to flee. He takes a step to his left and drops his bow. "NOUS SOMME CHATEAU GAUCHE!!" He bellows in a thunderous voice, the depths of which are surprising for the svelt elf. A beam of what looks like clear water sparking in the sun ladened with diamonds there in shoots from his outstreatched hands striking the creature square in the chest. The trolls arms visibly wither and look of victory comes across the face of the mage as he realizes his beam struck true.

Calthoric sights down the length of the arrow shaft. He is about to release his knocked arrow when he sees a flash of light and the troll scream and turn chasing after the new threat. Narrowing his eyes at the new comer Calthoric frowns and runs across the street and into the bushes. Ducking behind some cover. He watches the battle unfold paying close attention to the new comer.

Grinning to herself, she takes advantage of the troll's lapse in concentration, following through on her first strike to attack at the unprotected backside of the burning beast.

In one sweeping motion, the man secures his bow and draws a great sword. The sword flares with fire as he swings it around his head and then brings the sword crashing down upon the troll. The fire licks across the troll's chest burning as the sword rips the vile creatures flesh away from its bones. The troll boils with anger and howls with rage.

Watching the battle hidden, Calthoric ponders the reaction of the troll. The enemy of my enemy is my friend but something about this guy makes him appear more dangerous then the troll. Has he been tracking this troll and if so he must be quite capable to deal with such a creature on his own. Or did he see his opportunity when we engaged the beast.

He decides observation is best right now and remains watching the battle. He pays close attention to the maneuvers of the new threat. He knocks and arrow and readies it for quick release. He is just not sure who the next target will be the newcomer or the troll.

Her assault paused only by the force of the large beast's blows to her relatively tiny body, she continues to dole out as much pain as she has received, her golden locks fraying out all over the place from the heated movement of mortal combat. "God, just DIE!"

The troll attempts to claw at the target to no avail. The claws harmlessly fall upon the air. The man dances out of the way and brings the flaming sword down upon the creature gashing into it's belly. Brown slug empties onto the ground as the troll falls to the ground. The man quickly moves in for a final blow, severing the creatures head and then nodding to you. The flames on the sword quickly fade out leaving the blade red hot. "Thank you kind sir and madam for your help vanquishing this vial creature. Your help will be compensated greatly after we dispose of the body along with a cut of any treasure we find." The man says in a high voice. He then removes the closed helm and you see flowing sliver hair followed by the face of a female elf. "Greetings are in order, I am Leaf, slayer of trolls, founder of the troll hunters. Whom are my enemy's enemy?" She asks with a smile.

Still not trusting the female that has hidden her identity well with magic Calthoric keeps an arrow knocked. His bow is lowered to his waist as he walks from the bushes to the right of Thoreal. "Well done...Well done indeed. A gallant effort made by all to be assured. Leaf, did you say? My name is Calthoric and the two that had rushed to your side when the troll charged you are Bolvar and Rasellia. Both are strong in weapon and even stronger in belief. This one to my left is Thaeal, master of the arcane arts, and his companion..." He looks about the area spotting the goblin off by some trees. "Ah there it is. Mister...uhmmm...well to be honest I can never speak goblin names that well. What brings you to these lands of land milady? Do not see my not looking at you as a sign that I am not listening it would seem two of my companions are in need of some aid. Thoreal can you aid them?" He then continues across the bridge to inspect the wounds of Rasellia and Bolvar. A look of confusion at not knowing exactly how to treat any wounds other the scrapes crosses his face. "May I assist you two in anyway?" His gaze keeps passing rapidly over the two injured as well as the female knight to give her the impression that he is listening.

I one day hope these creatures will be gone from the earth, then I will be able to rest. Until that time, I must continue my quest. Do you mind if I start burning the corpse? They do start to smell rather quickly." She reaches into her robe and produces a flask and starts dumping the flask onto the corpse.

However, since it was your kill and my assist, then maybe you owe me compensation for my efforts?" She smiles and sighs, "Well, why don't we just split the treasure five ways and call it even. That is if there is any treasure. I there is nothing on this naked beast except hair."

First, you say you have been tracking this troll for days? Well this bag of bones here could not possibly be a victim of our late toll taker. This poor bastage has been dead weeks if not months. Second. We are on the trail of a group of vile bandits. They are close and in the vicinity. Fire... may not be such a good idea. Third. As these bandits took all that i have, I'm afraid we cannot offer much more compensation than say... oh... my witty banter."
Thoreal gives a nauseated look, and half smile to the elf before he returns his attention to the corpse. Moments later a large raven circles above, and lands beside the mage. Stroking it gently under the beak, the mage wispers to it. "Find me the shineys". Without a sound the raven takes off and begins circling the area. "You too Gilly". Unstringing his bow, the wizard begins poking at the remains, ready for something to jump out at him...

The elf frowns at Thorel's comment but then elf smiles at Bolvar's request. "Surely, Thorel, you know that trolls regenerate, only fire really destroys them. I would hate for this creature to come back to life. I have seen even the most wounded creature slowly start to heal from a pile of flesh and bone. See, even now this creature is slowly healing. The time is now, maybe the bandits will see our fire and come to you. Surely you are not fearful of a small tribe of bandits. I lost the troll in the rain, surely, you understand that. Trolls love bridges, they are a great trap."

"I disagree with you Bolvar, trolls are worse than bandits. There can still be a small fragment of good in any man. However, these vial creatures can sometimes be more cunning than even the smartest human. Like the one that killed my family." A lone tear streaks down her face. "Tis my quest to kill trolls, not men, except in self-defense." With the flick of her finger, a few small sparks fall onto the oil soaked troll and the body quickly goes up in flames. Greasey black smoke fills the area as the fire quickly rages. Strong heat waves flicker off the flaming troll distorting the air so that she, Bolvar and Ras seem to flicker a bit. However, her image fads while the barbarian and cleric stand tall. She seems to have disappeared.

The raven circles the sky but sees nothing shinny. Gilly returns with a bent gold piece he found on the road. A large tooth mark can be seen in the middle of it.

As their foe falls, Rasellia quickly attends to both her own and Bolvar's wounds. Digging her sword tip into the soft earth, she lays one hand on her chest, closing her eyes as she infuses herself with positive energy.

All this while the talk is going on. However, upon hearing the mention of whose kill it was, she turns her attention to the ensuing discussion.
"Please to meet you, Leaf, and I for one am thankful you showed up when you did. We would have left that encounter with more than cuts and bruises, to be sure. As to the matter of dividing the spoils..." She gives a stern, but not icy, glance to the elf of the party. "As one of the three who actually engaged this creature, I say you deserve most, if not all of the spoils. This thing was merely an obstacle in our path, and we engaged it due to its own stubborness."
She looks back at Bolvar, inspecting the visible wounds, ensuring that her handiwork had been thorough, then looks back to where Leaf was, only to find her gone. "Wait, what...? Didn't she want compensation...?"

You pack up and leave continuing south until you come to a fork in the road. You take the path to the left remembering the hags scrying. You soon find yourself nearing a rocky hill. As you can kind of make out a door slightly ajar in the rocky hill. There is what also appears to be a large blood splatter on the ground near the door. You see no one around.

Coming upon the door and blood, she looks more quizically at the man-made device embedded in the side of the hill - she had never seen such a thing before. "Who on earth puts a door there?"
