Re: The Pub: Off-topic chat for forum gamers
Or we could politely ask them not to stay.
On another note, by favorite idea for a game sucks.
It has a secret twist, and would be a train wreck. And I'd need a large number of people.
I have way too many cool ideas for WW games. And I dot even think most of them suck. But a lot of them need lots of people.
Also, how big a game would you need to have 8 wolves?Jon Snow and Ghost avatar (not currently in use) by Gurgleflep 15370262 328.

I actually found it mildly funny, you want them to leave because you don't want players.
For myself, I'll stay for a bit, see what this place is like, then I'll keep playing.Last edited by Visor; 2014-06-03 at 09:25 PM.

Re: The Pub: Off-topic chat for forum gamers
That's extremely unlikely. More players means more diversity of game content typically. You would see more games in general. The large games average size might increase, bit smaller games would likely simply increase in frequency. Especially since structured games has occasionally worries about player numbers. That's part of the reason we have those signstures to advertise around the site.
And the playground is an open site/communty. We have people who have never played the game the webcomic satirizes, DnD players who don't read the comic, role players who don't do either, ect. Staying for only one game is an isolationist stance I have to object to.

Re: The Pub: Off-topic chat for forum gamers
Hey! This isn't the "hello and welcome new members thread!"
I wasn't being serious. The only thing I worry about is that there will be so many games nobody will join mine. (That was a joke, too.)
I'll take more players any day. That means more chances at filling up my big games that I'll never run!Jon Snow and Ghost avatar (not currently in use) by Gurgleflep 15370262 328.

Re: The Pub: Off-topic chat for forum gamers
A lot of people who specifically join JUST for the werewolf section, of which I was one, didn't post in that thread until a long time after my join date. This thread is our public forum with all the players of this area, and as such might as well be the closest thing we have to welcoming.
The minute we start not being welcome to new players is the minute I leave. Because that will be the moment it leaves the spirit that has kept me here for two and a half years.
Don't be too worried about game size, should the player base grow large enough from the influx of players, then it's likely player limits in games will rise in popularity too.
And yes I logged in and navigated my horribad phone just to post this in class."Trust bladescape, Shadow of Doubt,"
My almighty and all knowing extended Signature lies HERE! Now includes awesome quotes!

Re: The Pub: Off-topic chat for forum gamers
Oh, hey, this is new! Just another thing to add to the list, I guess
Anyway, sorry for being gone for such a long time, I hadn't really meant to, but I started feeling awkward about coming back.
But I am, in fact, back, and it's nice to see a more communal area in Structured Games! The statement below is true

Welcome to GitP Werewolf. Please, stay. Play lots of games. Make this place what it was before..... FULL! Seriously. Some of you younguns don't realize just how empty this place still is. Oh sure, it's better now than it was a year or two ago. But it's far from it's old glory days.
Welcome back!

Re: The Pub: Off-topic chat for forum gamers
Why awkward?
There were a bunch of folks that suddenly developed an acute case of gonefromtheforumitis. Nasty disease, it cripples the host... and the players as well.
They are always welcome back. Hopefully I actually get to really play with some of the names I saw when I first joined, Sabeki, LoP...
I had a sad when you all left me. I had a glad when you came back.

It's especially bad on the org. That place used to have huge games all the time. Now games can't even get twenty people.

I always feel like if I'm gone for too long, then I might as well stay gone. But this time I said, these people are my friends, and I ain't gonna leave them! So I came back.
