On this forum, when a Seer or Fool dies we usually reveal the exact role they were. Are you saying that you do it differently?

I was going by this game... thought it was standard practice.

We don't even have Fools, cop variants are typically Watchers, Trackers, role cops (learn power, not alignment) and alignment cops (We just call these cops).

It varies from game to game here. There are also games where the first one to die won't have the exact role stated, but the second will. This can validate information a network had but couldn't act on, so it is somewhat different than keeping the seer/fool roles ambiguous until the end of the game.

With the Fool/Seer- it's generally not revealed exactly which was which until both are dead, that way they don't know 100% which role they had. There's generally some doubt with the issue. So if Pizza is one or the other and we lynch him, then the role reveal would be something like Pizza = Fool/Seer.

Not that we plan on killing Pizza in any games or anything. Right away. Maybe just after FC and Murska.

Voider affects night powers, if you also silence then you're a Voider/Silencer or Voider+Silencer.
Seer/Fool may death-reveal either accurately or as Seer/Fool, depending on the game. This is another one of those questions like what happens when the Baner is successful that is poorly defined.
Vigilante is a more common name than Sniper.
Other roles:
Alpha = Godfather (wolf who scries innocent)
Devil = Wolf Role Cop
Beast = Vengeful. Usually wolf, often random, sometimes random among people on their wagon.
Careless Baner = Doctor that can't target themselves (most Baners are not careless).

Silencers are annoying and generally not a good mechanic.

I've seen games where Seer and Fool roles are revealed as such at the first death. I can't say there's anything wrong with doing it either way. It's just a nudge in favor of town or wolves.

The wonderful thing about mafia/werewolf is that you can have a unique game every time. You never even have to run the same setup twice. Some are classic enough to be enjoyed many times. There are many ways to balance the game.

There are also many ways to unbalance it. Mafia is a tricksy mistress.

I've seen Sniper, Assassin, Killer, and Vigilante. Personally, I use Vigilante, but I think I've only had one town role that could kill. (And he died before he got the chance)

Edit: Another I've seen which probably isn't standard mafia fare is the "Invincible Llama." Now, personally, for a similar role, I would use "Survivalist" or "Survivor." Basically, the Invincible Llama gets an extra life. This may only be from nightkills, this may only be from lynches, or both.

Not necessarily. Since Classic is rarely, if ever, run by the same person twice in a row, then all the games have their own house rules. Lex-Kat's version, for example, told the Fool and Seer immediately upon death (if I recall correctly). I personally tell Seer/Fool upon the first death, then clarify on the second.

Well, it was certainly amusing in Monty Werewolf.

Then, of course, there are the entirely different list of roles typically featured in say, Witchhunt, which in turn becomes the entirely different list of roles which Penguinator always uses (not all of which are from Witchhunt, but I seem to have a bigger list of narrator-specific roles than most people.)
