Surprisingly, when you look at it closely it's not - it looks more like , but with closed eyes.

After zooming in about 8x on the frame, to me it looks like not so much "closed" as "in extreme pain"; as if this is the poison manufacturer's mascot on the bottle.

Evidently a poisoned arrow makes different sounds when it ricochets off of a zombie dragon, a prison wall, and a Protection From Arrows spell. I hadn't noticed the sound effects before.

Also, in panel 7, I note the clerics have to stand on chunks of rubble to reach the giant soldiers.

You can see the poison on the arrowhead too. That stuff must be pretty thick.

The sound effect when Roy hits the ground in 443 only has one exclamation mark, but when Xykon is watching it on Teevo, it has two.

Xykon must have the volume turned up.

So, I was bored, so I decided to read through the first few comics and I just noticed, in #58, when V casts Owl's Wisdom on Belkar, his shirt turns white.

Yep; it was finally explained to me as a visual shorthand for his changed mental state, like the way V's clothes get way more sinister when he becomes Darth V.

In #387, Elan complains that 'this illusion never works', referring to his Silent Image of a female guard meant to distract the male guards. I went over the past comic strips- apparentally, Elan has only used Silent Image 2 times before. The first time is in #19, where he attempts to distract a chimera by making a fake female. It doesn't work. The second time is in #66, attempting to distract Thog with a female orc. It works not by seducing him, but by scaring him with 'cooties'. Elan might be right?

I originally was going to comment that, unlike most art upgrades where we see steadily improving artwork, Cone of Cold suddenly became visually epic. Then I noticed, so did the rain.

950 - 41 = 909 comics... wow, V took THAT long to use his/her Cone of Cold a mere 2nd time? Probably because it's usually better to use Chain Lightning or something that actually kills the enemy.

Oh, and in #950, the airship has a sign below the propellers that reads 'My other airship is a carpet'. Apparentally there's such things as airship bumper stickers. In the same panel, is a giant crossbow mounted on the side of the ship, the result of the lack of guns. You can see more crossbows in #948

Bah! You and your fancy "seeing spells in more places." If it weren't for 935, my original observation would have stood; 935 did upgrade it a bit, so there's an intermediate visual between "triangle" and "epic cold gust."
