That's an interesting one, because there has actually been a thread based on those two strips talking about a similar topic. I find if interesting how several people have noticed this.

Yes, I was joking There are legislations where you can have access to the internet if you are condemned to extremely long sentences and a judge agrees, and there is the chance for a prisoner to work in jail, but I think you can't work more than 8 hours a day. Anyway, I don't really see something like "polysyllabic cogitation" as part of the common jailbird's speech

I also am not sure of if, how or why a prisoner could move from state to federal prison. I hope I'll never need to find out

And I have had prisoners that paroled out of my custody straight to Federal custody, since they had violated both State and Federal laws.

I've always assumed that the reason he wants to know Vaarsuvius's gender is to know whether to lust after or or not lust after him. This also explains why Vaarsuvius believes Belkar only has two reactions.l In V's case, it's true; Belkar is in fact unsure which of the two to feel about Vaarsuvius.

Thog's "STOP TALKING" is iconic, but I never really noticed Miko's using the same line in her throne room duel until just now.

To be fair, Roy deliberately tried to provoke that kind of reaction in Miko. Maybe not that line specifically, but he was clearly trying to make her uncomfortable and distracted.

I'm certain it wasn't a callback on the Giant's part either, but it could be an interesting commentary on what Roy's enemies find his most annoying trait. Maybe I noticed because I tend to provoke that reaction in real life. (Not the hitting part, but the "stop talking now" thing.)
