I figured Elan knew she was a demon from one of the following:
-Durkon mentioned/showed him the wanted poster
-Tarquin mentioned it in an anecdote
-Elan's meta-knowledge allowed him to know since the audience now knows

Even so, ive seen a distressingly compelling argument that says that even if they have no ranks in Knowledge (the Planes), there is a moderate chance for male players to recognize creatures like succubi on sight, because the textbooks for acquiring that information have pictures. Ill... just let that comment sit, and go hide in the corner. I didn't even make this up, it was in a Forgotten Realms book I read.

I feel dirty for even bringing it up, but it makes so much sense that it makes me sad.

Sabine is a succubus, quite visibly so. And quite frankly, I always thought that joke was a bit of a stretch.

It isn't even a running joke. When they first fought her, Haley didn't know whether she was a demon or a devil and which metal hurt her. After their first battle, that confusion is never brought up (by the order) again. So there is no reason to think they didn't simply look it up.

Additionally, the joke was NEVER that they weren't sure whether she were a Succubus or an Erinyes, it was that they couldn't remember whether Succubi were considered demons or devils (since it keeps changing between editions!)

HTOH is the High Priest of Hel, the evil spirit that has possessed Durkon.

Durkula is slang for vampirised Durkon. It was the evil spirit I meant when I referred to spirit Durkula. It seems odd to me that it doesn't have fangs, even in spirit form (or red eyes for that matter, but grey red eyes would be a bit of a stretch). That's why I wonder if it is a vampire spirit after all.

He's not a vampire spirit - he's a negative energy spirit who controls a vampirised dwarven body (and keeps its original owner prisoner, but you already knew that).

Rereading this strip, I just noticed that what I thought was just another Thor-Joke, is actually Hel plotting to distract Thor and get Durkon vamped. The plan had already started.

I think that all of the strips with Hel in them look a lot more serious now that we know that she's not just a comedy bit, this strip especially.
