AMEN XLVII: Who's the Leader, Again?

Mr E fills that smile into his memory. That should be useful later.

"There's the loudspeaker system, but since your office is so new, I don't think you have a mic connected to the system yet."

And then there, on the desk is a intercom device. That was not there before.

"Or the base could provide one right now. Well, that's convenient for you sir."

[Candyland - Mister E]

"Ooh, a very clever appliance." Again, things take a turn for the implausibly convenient. He takes a moment to examine the new intercom, but rather than fumble with it now, turns his attention back to the statistics piled before him. "These business ventures, who oversees them? Vhich ones require peasant labor, and for vhich of those vould the necessary equipment be moved vithin the day?" Accumulating gold, that is a universal language.

[Candyland - Mister E]

"I do a partial monitoring, as does BurntBrown. That's one of the henchmen, sir. We mostly leave them alone, other than a collection and some protection work once in a while. The person who did most of the work setting them up arranged for low maintenance on our part. A pity that he is no longer with us."

Mr E continues in informing the Candypire of the details of the businesses, to save myself the trouble of listing a lot of different criminal and not so illegal schemes.

"As things stand, we are sitting at a positive cash flow, but we haven't moved in much on Skyside yet. We needed approval first, and the previous leaders were unavailable to give it."

[Candyland - Mister E]

"Skyside is in my plan, so I vill handle the necessaries there." The dossier is set down, and Candyvamp's attention returns to his guest. "You vill arrange for the needed machinery for one of the businesses, one vhich currently requires laborers, and move them to our location in Riverside. You vill also procure any necessaries for housing a large amount of people there."

[Candyland - Mister E]

"A simple task, through it would be wise for you not to paid that place no more than short visits. Riverside has the most vampire hunters within it, it would be quite vexing for one of them to end your unlife."

Mr E notes that on a notebook which he pulled from his sleeve.

[Candyland - Mister E]

"That vill be all." Candyvamp says, pointedly declining a response to the rest.

Candyland- Mr E

"Very well then."

Mr E turns, mind racing on ways to work around the cookie that will be keeping him in his room. And there were so many things that needed personal attention right now, pity.

[Zefir]

[Main Room]

Since after Zefir brought the female Vampire to the Candypire, he was sitting around in the Main Room. Even thought there was another change in leadership, the activities are still low if there are any. He switch on the TV and Zaps through the channels without any intressed.

Mr E's Room

It's not difficult to notice the gingerbread man escorting Mr E back to his quarters and to extrapolate from that how things will go from there.

So one of three things happen here.

If the guard is standing outside Mr E's quarters, a Moff will attempt to portal step directly into Mr E's room.

If the guard is uncouth enough to follow Mr E into his room and guard him there, then a Moff will attempt to open a portal and drag Mr E through it onto the Yellow Road.

Of course, Mr E might have his room teleblocked, in which case, there's not much Moff can do without starting the revolution prematurely. So if that's the case, nothing happens now.

Knock, knock, knock!

Somebody has come a-calling, AMENites! There's no rush to answer the door as I'm off to Differential Equations, but I'll be back in a couple of hours.

And then...

A Moff answers the door. He's put on weight, and his complexion is bad from eating too much candy.

"Welcome to AMEN. Will you be joining, attacking, or conducting some other form of business today?"

Chubby Moff will likely spot a twelve year old girl patiently waiting upon AMEN's doorstep.

The girl appears to be a fair-skinned average-sized child with silky-smooth fiery red hair which hangs loosely about the base of her neck. Her eyes are of such an intense hue of blue that they are rivaled only by the color of the brightest and hottest of flames. She seems to be proudly displaying red dragon scale armor of the most exquisite craftsmanship that most mortals have ever seen that covers her body from her neckline down. If Moff were to closely inspect the armor, he might be surprised to discover that it is in fact not armor but a layer of scales that covers most of her body.
Across her back, a magical shimmering sword and battered steel heater shield have been slung. In one hand, she holds a bag of hot and delicious takeout from an upscale restaurant.

Alexis cheerily greets Moff with a confident and friendly smile!

"Good afternoon, sir! May I come in? I'm looking for my dad! He works here!"

The little girl, already stepping toward the door, politely requests.

[Candyland - Mister E]

"A spaceship." The Candyvamp's smile broadens into something guilelessly genuine as the conversation shifts to language he understands. A spaceship! Nobody, no matter how villainous, can resist regressing into childish glee when first offered the chance to be an astronaut. "Yes, and vith a tractor beam? Perfect. I vill need all aircraft cued up, and I vill also vant the henchmen assembled. Is there some special vay to communicate vith them, or..?"


[Candyland - Macbeth]

"Vell, that is fair." He says, pushing himself back from the desk and back into a more relaxed pose. It seems the intensive part of the interview is decided, one way or the other.

"For the present, my goal is make AMEN a dictatorship vorth holding. I have some activities planned soon, but later I vould appreciate anything that keeps everyone busy, and keeps us in the news. Vhat is actually accomplished, is secondary."

A respectable goal. I can keep tabs on your subordinates, gathering information so as to best preoccupy or use optimally their skills. Sound good?
Macbeth inquires, leaning back slightly and putting a hand upon her chin in classic thinking position.

"Uh-huh. Is your dad made of Candy?" Moff asks.


Mr E's Room

((Waiting on Phantom))

[Front Door]

"Nope. I'm pretty sure he's made of flesh. His name is Zefir..."

A notably curious Alexis answers with an eyebrow inquisitively raised. She wonders why anyone would ask such a crazy question.

"Are there people made of candy here or something?"

"Loads of them. This guy Candyass who thinks he's the boss keeps zapping people with an artifact that turns people or things to candy. Plus he has gingerbread minions. Come on in." Door Moff leads her inside while calling out, "ZEFIR! Your kid is here!"

Alexis eagerly follows Moff inside of the chaotic base, carefully closing the door behind her. After Moff has finished calling for Zefir, she whispers conspiratorially to Moff.

"Really? He's turning people into candy? That's not okay!"

"..."

"Do you think Candyass will notice if a gingerbread minion or two goes missing?"

Nobody that mean should have any minions, especially not sweet, sugary, and scrumptious candy minions that Alexis wouldn't mind omnomnomming.

Arkhosia, a catgirl with olive skin in a green trench coat, navy blue boots, black leggings that match her short hair, and an orange shirt, comments jokingly.
She has a gummy worm in a shotgun holster on her back.

Zefir is here, on the couch. He had taken a nap while nothing seems to really happen. He looks up as he hears the Moff calling for his name. At first he is confused. My kid? he thinks and stands up immediatly , assuming this some kind of trick or so. Then he sees Alexis and looks at her rather confused.

"Alexstrasza?" he says. Last time he saw her she was his size. Clarissas dragons have really strange abilities.

Doorway to Couch

"Minions are yummy!" Moff says, with a toothy grin. Actually, he's only been eating the extra candy from someone waving around an artifact that candies things. You know, corners of walls, Cyan's mobile that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, buttons that fall off of gingerbread men. That sort of thing. But letting the minions think he's becoming a minionovore is a happy side effect.

Hmm... though now that he's thinking along those lines, even though chromatophore minion meat is reckoned to be tough, that's nothing a good marinade can't handle.... He starts eyeing Cyan with a speculative gaze that the minions have learned to fear.

"I vould consider it a favor. And it's a pleasure to have somevun of your ambitions vith us, Miss Macbeth." He extends a hand, safely gloved of course. Wouldn't do to go spreading the curse with every little touch. "You should head to the meeting room, vonce you choose your own quarters of course. I vill be speaking vith the others there shortly."

There's a tinny squawk of reverb, and the base's little-used loudspeakers come to life in a wash of static.

"If everyvun vould please gather in the meeting room. I believe there are introductions overlong delayed, and then ve have some havoc to cause."

"I vould consider it a favor. And it's a pleasure to have somevun of your ambitions vith us, Miss Macbeth." He extends a hand, safely gloved of course. Wouldn't do to go spreading the curse with every little touch. "You should head to the meeting room, vonce you choose your own quarters of course. I vill be speaking vith the others there shortly."

Macbeth arrives here, adjusting her makeup via pocket mirror (sitting and possibly spinning in a chair).

Moff is here. Though he's looking rather... two dimensional today.

Nah... surely Moff wouldn't send a cardboard cutout of himself to a very important meeting, right?

Meeting Room

Caius Grayle had been startled awake from his relaxing nap by the sound of a harsh German accent. That was less than a comforting thing to be woken up to! The harsh gutteral language had always bothered Caius. However, after contemplating whether or not getting up and doing things would be worth the headache rising up from the soft chair would cause, the man in black rises. He'll then slowly make his way to a nearby bathroom. He had been napping after all, and no doubt his hair looked horrendous. After spending a minute or two combing his hair frantically, he'll step out of the small room and follow the others. Once he approaches the meeting room, he'll move to silently sit down on a chair. Once finding a comfortable position, he'll turn his attention to the room.

He would be one of the first to arrive.

[Zefir]

Meeting Room

Well, Zefir is here as well. Since the scene in the Main Room came to a deadtime, this seems to be another timeline for him right now.

Zefir won't be as fast as the others. He isn't in a hurry after all. As he enter, he will fall into a chair lazily and waits for the main event to happen. No point in talking to people he don't like or don't know at all.

Meeting Room

And Candyvamp is the last arrival, floating in cheerily with his assistant pushing a tv screen along beside him. Setting down in the chair at the head of the table, he smiles a sharp, shiny smile to lot of the horrible little murderers.

"It's been a busy time, and I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. Let that be the first order of business." He puts a hand across his chest and dips his head in a short bow. A respectful gesture, but not too respectful. "My name is Aurel Adal Gregori, and I come from a small, miserable, beautiful little country so far avay I'm sure none of you have ever heard of it. They think I'm dead there now, and they celebrate. They celebrate because, for as long as I can remember, and I have a very good memory indeed, my family has lived in luxury by the common people's misery."

"To me, that is vhat being a villain is about. Living like a king because somevhere somebody is suffering for you. I think that's something ve can all agree on. All of us are here because ve vant something very badly and are villing to step on whoever ve have to in order to get it. Even vhen, sometimes, vhat ve want is only the amusement of stepping on people."

"I don't dress all in black, like a 'normal' vampire does. I'm not a normal vampire, but even if I vas I vouldn't still. My castle is not dark and gloomy. Because I don't believe there's any point in being a villain, unless you have the good things in life. So vhy is this place so drab? Vhy do we not live like royalty here, vhen all of us are so far beyond common people?" Aurel lets the question wait for a moment, and someone could answer if they wish, but regardless of whether they do or don't he'll continue just the same. "I vill fix this. Ve have a plot of land in Riverside, and soon there vill be people to rule over there. Money too, I can arrange. Money that shall seat us all in the lap of luxury. I do not yet know vhat all of you vant, but I can offer my help to you in finding it."

"So, before I go into my plans for today, could you all tell me a little about yourselves? Vhy you have joined AMEN? Macbeth has already, of course, but being new she should introduce herself to the group."

Meeting Room

Well Dark Lords Avatar is here, sitting on a chair made of itself, and its holding a long stick which its trying to poke Aurel with, when the stick turns into candy, it starts munching on it.

Possibly during some time where most people aren't occupied with a meeting (or during, whatever), a resounding knock alerts the inhabitants of AMEN to someone at the door, if the cameras haven't already. Whether it's through a camera or by opening the door, anyone looking at their guest will find her and odd sight in the place like this.

And angel, and not just a winged person either. She is an exceptionally tall woman, broad of shoulder and with a healthy layer of muscle below her dark skin. Six wings of soft gold are folded at her back. Her thick mane of hair shines with the light constantly enveloping her. She waits at the door with a calm expression. Only her wrinkled nose at the smell of the volcano marrs it. If someone takes too long to answer, she simply knocks again. Softer this time, as she realized how hard she was hitting the door the first time.

"Welcome to AMEN. Will you be joining, attacking-" The gingerbread man pauses as he opens the door, and blinks dumbly at the towering celestial standing on the doorstep of all that is evil. There's a glance over his shoulder in the hopes of help, but everyone seems to be off at the meeting or pointedly ignoring it. Oh dear.

"Ahem. Will you be attacking us or conducting other business today, ma'am? It's only, everyone's a little busy right now. It really would be convenient if we could be smote another day?" He puts on a hopeful smile, but opens the door and steps aside nontheless. He's not about to be the one telling the angel who it can and can't purify in holy fire.
