"We should attempt to initiate comm contact with the Jedi contigent on the planet and scan those stations. If that fails our Jedi can attempt to guide us to them." DAN moves to the comm station and attempts to contact the Jedi, he also initiates scans of the weather stations.

Once they've jumped into hyperspace, Pampy unbuckled and began exploring the ship. By the end of the first hour she's likely explored every nook and cranny. She likely spent a couple hours training with Allyson as well.

As they arrive, Pampy steps into the cockpit to get a view of the planet. "It looks so dry. Is that blotch the storm?"

On hearing that they might need the Jedi to guide them into the settlement, she takes a seat and closes her eyes, trying to open her senses to the Force, and those on the planet.

SCANNERS: battering the keys telling the computer to scan, the information fed to you makes little sense. There is static on the holonet comm system: no, and I mean NO transmissions are coming to you from anywhere. While you can't pinpoint the source of the interference, it is clear someone is jamming all signals in the system.

The scanners can pick up images, and on your screens you (and everyone there) can see the atmosphere more closely, and a much closer shot of the stations as they float silently across the sky. The weather stations over the calm portions of the atmosphere are in perfect, syncrinous orbit with the poles. Those over the massive sandstorms, the disturbance, are spinning out of control, out of alignment with the others.

THE MONOLITH is the next thing you notice: a massive block of white material about ten kilometers long. Is it a ship? It floats exactly over the center of the sandstorm.

THE FORCE: Pampy and Master Solitaire (and the other padawans) can sense only fleeting images through the force: a massive temple, and people running through dark tunnels... they`re being chased. This includes young children.

OOC: soooo.... well, I have been busy. I'm still around, despite slow posting due to heavy course load. Currently editing some higher ed textbook material. Today I was advised that, if I went freelance, my training in this certificate gives me added value over even experienced editors with no training (yay!), though I still need to decide my own editing rates. That said, all pbp games I'm in are floundering, and that includes this, the one I GM. Moan.

    Anyhoo, still kicking around.

To sum up: You see a wierd object in orbit around the planet (seemingly the cause of the busted weather stations and the giant storm cloud).

And the Jedi have a spooky force vision that something or someone is hunting the Younglings on the planet below.

And if this game is still going we'll find out more about both. And if not I'll figure something else out!

    OOC:

    I'm still here too.
But as Fobok, I hoped someone else would post, perhaps reacting to my small attempt to start a conversation (I'm looking at the “Oh, by the way… I am Rogan, Rogan Duneklimber. I think we haven't seen us before” part.)

Maybe everyone still interested/playing might want to 'raise a hand'?

    IC:

Like Pampy, Rogan used the Hyperspace flight to make himself familiar with the ship, its rooms and systems. His tour finally leads to the bridge, where he stands at the background, making sure not to disturb the others doing their work.

As they arrive, Rogan takes a look at the planet and shows a little smile before answering the question of the twilek girl. “Yes, I think so, even if I have never seen such a storm from space. A quite impressing view, isn’t it?”

As the images get clearer, Rogan frowns “This thing is not normal for a sandstorm, is it? Has anyone ever seen something like this? It would not surprise me if we found the source of any problems at this planet? What do you think, can we handle it?”

"Has that monolith over the center of the storm always been there? I don't recall it being mentioned in the briefing." DAN focuses the sensors on the Monolith, attempting a more detailed scan.

OOC: We are still in orbit. And yeah, I sometimes forget to check. When I'm not in an intensive program, I check throughout the day. The last little while, though; or if I'm spread out across too many sites for these games...

IC: One of the clone troopers answers you.

"I haven't been here before, sir, but I doubt it. It's not like anything I've ever seen. And the readings coming off it... it's scrambling our sensors, making it look like a blip. I don't even know how that's possible."

OOC: I know Pampy said the Jedi would help steer the ship to land. I don't know if that's what you all want to do, or if you want to change that action with this information.

From what you can tell, the Weather Stations around the planet are large. Think bigger than the ISS, each one, and with artificial gravity. Not as big as Deep Space Nine.

The monolith is larger than any of them.

    OOC:

Still here, waiting for others (mostly Fobok/Pampy) to write.
I would vote no to a landing operation as long as we dont know if the monolite might do anything aggressive.
The ships ability to avoid getting hit wont help if we are sitting on the planats surface like a practice target.

However, I could also agree that we need to land fast in order to help the jedis so they wont get captured / killed - but this is something Rogan does not know yet.

OOC: no worries. Honestly, I'm so bad about updating this thread or checking in. However, when I get time from my course and fam (and production on my first publishing endeavour! woot!) the game will pick up speed.

Also, I did some art way back (though the perspective and background are blegh... gotta redo that one!)

Pampy sucks in a breath and opens her eyes wide after the vision hits, her lekku twitching and her face looking to be in a near panic all of a sudden, "They're being chased! Through tunnels... we have to get down there!"

OOC: Oh, frak. Sorry this took so long... I swear I remember coming to the site to make the post when I said I would, but guess RL distracted me and I thought I'd posted.

"Are you all right? What happened?" Rogan asks Pampy and seems worried about her sudden panic. Of course, he did not receive the vision, nor was he used to seeing things like that to happen.

He turns to the clones piloting the ship "Is there a way we can land without the risk of getting shot by this… thing?”

    OOC:
To sum up the situation, we are in Orbit around the planet and see a huge monolith that might be a ship and probably is the reason for the storm. Communications and (to a lesser degree) scanners are blocked.
Our force users feel the planets inhabitants being chased by someone/something. Pampy told everyone on the bridge about this.
Is this correct? Did I miss something important?

Other questions: Does the monolith react to our arrival? (Or rather, can we tell if it does?)
How far away is the temple? Can we land there without getting close to the monolith?

    Jharumi Richards.

    Is everything okay?
Jharumi looks at the board as she can't identify a thing (As the scanners aren't working.)
I just can't make this work, we're blind on communications and scanners.

Nodding a little to Rogan, Pampy says, "I.. I'm fine. It was like I was there. We have to help them." She's calming now, as she puts the basic Jedi training she's received into practice, though it seems a lot of effort for the youngling to calm herself. Being chased hit a soft spot.
