Events for Round 26 and later

Spoiler: Round 26
Show

There has been a wave of temple desecrations in Pryonia! Many temples of the Lord of Fire have been defaced or worse, with some painted slogans decrying the evil fire devil.

Spoiler: Round 27
Show

The iconoclasm in Pryonia has moved into Gunung! The Temple of Fire's Birth is among the victims: the damage is minimal, but the defacement has outraged many worshippers.

Notices have begun appearing across the region, calling on the people to throw off the oppression of the Fire Devil and achieve their own glorious fulfilment. It concludes: 'Cast down the heretics and blasphemers who have so long held your people in thrall! Shun the Fire Devil's priests and the fools who claim to speak for him! Rise up and take what is yours!'

Pryonia now contains a minority of Ascension followers!
Gunung now contains a minority of Ascension followers!

Spoiler: Investigation results from Round 26/27
Show

TN 15: Witnesses say they have seen suspicious people believed to be southerners near many of the attacked temples shortly prior to the attacks.
TN 18: The language is believed to be consistent with the Salterri Ascension religion.
TN 20:The attacks are believed to be coordinated by a renegade Jarrland prince, a traitor in his homeland.
TN 22: They appear to be being undertaken without authority or support from the Priory government in Salteire.

Spoiler: Round 28
Show

If the Ascension followers who appeared last round were destroyed in holy war, militants do not appear in those regions, and there are only 2,000 in Calorum.

3,000 militants have appeared in Pryonia!
2,000 militants have appeared in Gunung!
3,000 militants have appeared in Calorum and march on Caloxdur, declaring they will destroy the temple and kill the Blazing Avatar.

Spoiler: Round 29
Show
Details for the militants who appeared the previous round:
Pryonia militants: leader has Military 3, no technologies
Gunung militants: leader has Military 2, no technologies
Calorum militants: leader (Fydias Jarrow) has Military 5 and a total of +3 in technologies.

The battles should ideally take place at some point between 464 and early 467 for narrative reasons. If the principal army is defeated, Fydias is not among the dead. Destroying each army is enough to wipe out the Ascension minority in that region. Note also that Sun Quencher will not be recovered by defeating the militants (that is a separate, though conveniently-timed, event).

Spoiler: Round 30
Show
Militants in the Calorum territories surviving the previous round:
2,000 militants in Pyronia, Military 3
5,000 militants in Calorum, Military 5, +3 techs

Destroying each army is enough to wipe out the Ascension minority in that region. As previously, the leader of the Calorum army will escape if his troops are wiped out.

Also:

[472] During the opening ceremony of a branch of the Kyaralath railway, one of the dignitaries, a senior courtier, is run over and killed by the train. Witnesses say that he had been standing on the track gossipping, then on seeing the engine approaching panicked and fell directly in front of it.

[474] A Huroshan noble who has been particularly outspoken in his calls for war and sanctions against Faedas has been found dead, with his tongue cut out. A tongue has been delivered to Queen Kyria in Faedas, wrapped in leather together with a single black feather.

Round 26 Ridovo Events

Spoiler: Round 26
Show

• A huge explosion was seen in the north of Zargrim, decimating an old fortress and a nearby town in the process. It was expected to be a fanatic hideout, but that could not be verified, as the evidence wiped away all traces. Locals claim it to be the wrath of the One who Guards Fire.

• The fanaticism spreads in Guilder and Ashenia! Both Guilder and Ashenia now both contain a Majority of Jaaku Na.

• In Genivana, Ridovo fanatics take hold of important resources in the regions, making them unavailable for trade untill they've been dealt with. In Genivana, the Vegetable resource is blocked until the fanatics are dealt with.

• Due to the riots in the Sea of Glass, the region is now destabilized, the riots growing more violent with every passing year. In addition, a rebel force of 2.000 soldiers rise up in the nation, trying to take it over.

Sea of Glass militants: leader has Military 4 and a total of +5 in technologies.

Spoiler: Round 27
Show

An army of faceless stone creatures come pouring into Sulvan's Fury from below! They are said to be running over towns like some cruel wave of relentless stone, crushing them into rubble and pulverizing men, women, and children who get left behind. A few survivors who circled back to try and recover their lost belongings found their village and its late inhabitants had been fused into some great sculpture composed of stone, wood, and carnage that resembled some twisted and demonic dwarf. No one yet knows what this all means or how it can be stopped.

Spoiler
Show

Army of 8,000 Military score of 5, if wiped out the "leader" is captured. The statue originally discovered by the Ashenians in Round 25's Round Opener. Investigation needed to uncover what it all was but this should conclude the drama.

Vapeema Argulus of Kelldria leads a great army into Tuhiland to capture it from Carmine, the war leader who's breastplate of Orichalcum glistens brightly in the sun calls for the head of the Defier of the Dark, that he might show the insolent welps of Tuhiland and Carmine the power of the Kell.

Spoiler
Show

Army of 10,000 Military score of 9, Winning Tactic: Ice Fields to be rolled for, possibly opposed. If wiped out Vapeema Argulus of Kelldria shall accept captivity and demand to speak with the man who beat him.

Ashenia's investigation into GERR and Gerriock reveals that there was once a great Sulvan sculptor named Gerriock who over 100 years ago ventured into Sulvan's Deep for reasons kept largely private. His records which were kept by his family indicated he was searching for a block of mythic 'Abystone', a mythical type of stone on which very little has been written, from which to sculpt his greatest creation. When he never returned and following the Balefrog's path of terror it was presumed he had been killed. The Astrologers who investigated the matter however wonder if this might be an assumption made in error and question if perhaps the sculptor did in fact find his 'Abystone'...

Purple and White Ships Sailing Against the Wind

AQUA has discovered Region X, known by locals as Puerto Melizine! The region appears to be well inhabited and advanced in the avenues of science and exploration though explorers note a reticence of natives to talk with foreigners. Nevertheless the explorers are able to ascertain that the nation has access to the resources of Ships and Dyes but what is more interesting to the AQUAN explorers is the prevalence of mostly abandoned temples devoted seemingly to Aeromancing and a vast catalog of maps of most of the known world's coasts including one of Tar itself describing the region by it's mythic name, Meraska!

Large three toed footprints and fire blackened trees

A shaman in Domhan Abhaile, having gone out into the woods to live his hermitage before returning came back within two days of departing filled with fear. He reports a great scaled creature lurking within the woods whom he saw breath a gout of flame that would have burned down the entire forest if not for the heavy rains accompanying the creature's appearance. The shaman seems quite shaken by the ordeal.

Ice Heart of the Black woods

After losing half its investigators to the search of the Black Woods and the apparent beating Ice Heart within the cautious Cardion family called off any further researchers or explorers and the event largely became a quiet legend around campfires. However recently villages on the edge of the Black Woods have reported that the Woods appear to be unnaturally cold and that they are freezing solid closer and closer to the villages, the ice retreating in the Spring and Summer but returning in the Fall and Winter in a larger area. The trees creak with ice and plants die quickly. The villages have petitioned their leaders to do something before the increasing ice and unnatural chill forces them out of their homes.

The vaults of Gunung have been raided but worse than that fact alone is there was only one item stolen, Sun Quencher, the blade used by the assassin Thamiel to slay the Blazing Avatar Yosi Cedro at the First World's Fair in year 358! What the thief plans to do with this wicked relic is unknown, whether a plot against the current Avatar, a search for fortune from the proceeds, or simply a test of skill for the thief is unclear but all who follow the Lord of Fire demand action to see the thief found and brought to justice and, of course, to see the sword returned!

Terror of terrors! A dark fog rolls down from the mountains and blots out the Sun turning day into night. If this wasn't bad enough, a great dragon of fire and shadow appears from nowhere and lands atop the city walls of Aphinkad, showering the city with embers and fanning fires with the flapping of its wings.
As if by some miracle, a momentary break in the fog causes a beam of Sunlight to strike the dragon. By all accounts, its screams were heard as far as Kyaralath as it was painfully turned to stone by the curse of an unknown spirit or deity. At least, that's what the shamans of Aphinkad concluded from seeing the dragon petrified.
Nevertheless, despite this reprieve, fires still rage throughout the city and the fog of darkness continued for five days. All up, a thousand people are slain.
None know what to do with the dragon's stone body. Some wish it destroyed, others preserved, and a few think it should be carefully removed and either sold or placed somewhere safe.

This one's complex and probably shouldn't be read unless you're actually doing a round opener for reasons.

Spoiler: Anytime Event, Bordeux
Show
Mysterious rumors filter in from drunks and hunters living in the Bordeusi woods near the border with Crima. Horses with the bodies and arms of men and women stalk the woods! They supposedly carry bows, devour the flesh of men, and kidnap both mares and human women!

Spoiler: Investigation Results
Show

1+: After sending a number of scouts into the forest, whinnying can be heard from a distance. After rushing after the sound, the scouts encounter a campful of Khater bandits and their horses! They look ragged, like they've been on the run for days, but put up a fight nonetheless! After a short but bloody battle, the bandits are slain to a man, and the horses are largely reclaimed except for the ones that bolted off into the woods. Hurrah!

Curiosity 16+: (Append the following to the end of the above) However, one of the scouts reported seeing a figure in the bushes nearby, like a legless man with a bow riding a headless horse, staring back at him. When he ran to report and came back to check, though, nothing was present but a set of hoofprints.

Attempting to use military triggers the second event early instead of investigating. Attempting to further investigate a successful investigation result using curiosity above also triggers the second event the next round, with an extra blurb mentioning that the Centaurs take action early because they realized that they were discovered.

(When the second event occurs, the centaurs favor a round where UN forces are otherwise busy, like when putting down other rebellions or fighting a war.)

Spoiler: A later round, regardless of investigation
Show
Screaming for blood, an army of 1000 Centaurs charges around Ashenia through Celero toward the steppes of Crima, attempting to storm several villages and laying siege to Creehold. Their leader is known as Balak-jin the Despoiler, supposedly the descendant of the assassin Thamiel himself!

Spoiler: Militant stats
Show
Balak-jin has Mil 8, pretty competent but not overwhelmingly so. The centaurs only have 1 unit of Soldiers despite this due to low population. They have Winning Tactic: Plains, and a few technologies, including Mithril-Forging, lenses, and Advanced Horse-Riding. They also have Agents (Skirmishers) that grant +2 to tactical maneuvering rolls.

If Balak is defeated, he will ask to be spared by the Good Tyrant and offer the services of himself and his clan in return. If his offer is accepted, Crima gains 9000 population of Centaurs.

If his offer is refused, prompt military action can be used to destroy the noncombatant Centaur population, ensuring that they never again gain a foothold in civilized lands and scattering survivors far enough to doom them to extinction. If the offer is refused but no further action is taken, the remaining 9,000 Centaurs become a band of Nomads simply seeking to get by.

For Round 32 and Beyond
Spoiler: GM Eyes Only Please
Show

Subject to GM revision and veto.
Round 32
• The Tyranny of the Cree has issued a large bounty for one 'Terbishy Stuyvesant', former Professor of Medicines at the University of Ryazen Bay, for "Crimes Against Nature and The Common Good". Approach with caution, he is assumed to be armed and possessed of preternatural abilities.

Round 33
• If anything less then 1,000 troops are committed to hunting Stuyvesant down, every investigator or bounty hunter on his trail goes missing or is found dead. Reports indicate he's being sheltered by various criminal organizations round the world in exchange for unknown services.
• A rising number of unexplained disappearances are being reported among lower class citizens in countries with a significant presence of organized crime.

Round 34 (If not stopped)
• Crime sprees erupt around the world. Most policing forces are unable to keep up with bandits who move with preternatural speed and strength. The still rising number of missing persons cases is now believed to be somehow linked.

Round 35 (If not stopped)
• Doctor Stuyvesant has publicly declared himself First Immortal Emperor of Crime. He is now the ruler of a Nomad nation that is undetectable within the regions it occupies without a successful opposed Investigation Roll.
• Thieves guilds, pirate fleets, and bandit strongholds around the world pledge their loyalty to the Emperor of Crime.

The Seaborne Confederation has been preoccupied with other things the last decade. The embargo around the Bloomenwald Isles has slipped. A random region (not affiliated with the Seaborne Confederation or the Triumvirate) beings to see grape lotus addicts. They can be violent to gain their fix, as the withdrawl symptoms are horrifying.

Note- the guilds in the Triumvirate and the Free Association of Trading Ships know enough about it that they are brutal on anyone attempting to sell grape lotus in their areas.

The turn when 8 luck is reached for WaylanderX, the following happens in the round opening:

In the Academy of Culture and Prowess, the Flask, as it is named, has been reportedly moving on its own. Several students reported witnessing small creatures moving across the campus with impossible speeds.

Investigation yields: the next round opener will report that the flask stopped moving after a couple of months, and the cause could not be found.

The turn before 10 luck is reached: The flask is reported missing, vanished from it's pedestal. Reports claim a tiny Menhîrin sprinting to the Great Lift, disappearing in Shikurai.

Investigation yields: When investigated with Grïend leading the expedition, he will end up at the Ancient One in Gwrîstin, where the tracks are lost.

Next turn I will use a luck 10 to fuse Grïend and the Flask of Prowess to the Ancient One, causing the Ancient One to awaken once again, with Grïend's conciousness.

Spoiler: Round 33 unless specific condition, Nyroth
Show

(Event does not happen if Giant Spider is dead.)

A minority religious group spreads in Nyroth, known to outsiders as "The Weavers". They seem to hold an unusual respect for the Giant Spider that appeared a decade before. Strangely, while the Spider has demonstrated no acknowledgement or awareness of the worship it is receiving, its webs have taken on a unique quality and beauty under the starlight: Shining with iridescent colors and humming a susurrus of haunting songs in the wind, these webs are no ordinary silk.

The Weavers offer to share the secrets of harvesting this "Gossamer" without upsetting the Spider in return for a guarantee of religious tolerance and freedom to continue their practices. (A Faith action may be spent to transform Nyroth's native Silk resource to Gossamer.)

Spoiler: Round 34
Show

(If Weavers are investigated, with or without accepting their offer. Investigation roll must exceed 15.)

The Weavers appear to mainly worship A God named Haldirachnee, one of the old "Lords of Night and Knowledge", and further appear to believe that the Spider is a sacred gift from their God. Their practices are largely harmless, though they do capture insects in the forest to throw into the web as a ritual offering. Oddly, they seem to disregard Sericyx as a pretender to Haldirachnee's title.

Spoiler: Future Rounds
Show
If the Spider is killed at any point, the Gossamer mysteriously loses its properties and becomes normal silk again. There are no direct consequences for getting rid of or re-converting the Weavers, but it's sort of a jerk move.

[494] Lord Philos of Nebelrief, the Seneschal of Glazfell, has passed away. Reports say that he died of an infectious disease, with most reports identifying it as Tellurian whooping cough.

[495.1] The Knights of the Black, an former order from Guilder composed of holy knights revering Oshoku, have been spotted riding across the eastern lands of the Expanse! Their leader reportedly uses a Dünfel skull as his shield, and their steeds are mighty and fearsome, with horned heads and tails like ninefold whips.

[495.2] Apparently a priest amongst the Shahidi has been preaching reverently the word that the new Shahidi Mkuu wished spread abroad! People in Elomaoli and Genivana begin setting themselves on fire. Charles Calciver watches on from the Blazing Temple with sad eyes as his message of love and unity is perverted. The priest remains unidentified.*

[496] Several bloodfire springs have been set alight! The guards posted at them appear to have had their throats slit, the wounds notable by their burn marks. Rumours say that some guards who were supposed to be at their post, were away, having been paid off.

[497] The Wives of Black have assisted Sympol doctors treating the affected in Sympolemou. This has resulted in a minority of Children of Kina in the region.

[499] A skinny ruby menhîrin has been spotted travelling between recent battlefields in Clanships, Frontier and Sah'raa. Oddly enough, it appears to be clothed.

*Feel free to add in minor population loss to either region and/or an introduction of Lord of Fire minority to Genivana. Cur TN 16 to find and catch him.

[508] A book is brought to the leader of the Tuvaak. One of the women apparently found it just lying on a large, flat rock in the middle of the wilderness. It is in pristine condition and appears to describe several old myths with Raaneki-style drawings describing the work of the Lord of Fire.

[509.1] Someone tried to kidnap Ainiveous of the An Nádur! Unfortunately, it seems the kidnapper knew not Ainiveous' appearance and has instead taken one of the elves that had recently joined them.

[509.2] A number of Pavonians have apparently fled to Cridan, believing somehow that they would find salvation from the war there. They bring with them a minority of the Path.

[510] A singing contest is being organized in Bordeux by a Lady of the esteemed Finir family. She claims to have a voice that silences bards and seems intent on proving it! Well, if it results in a night of fun for all, why stop her attempt?

*Only if nobody has gone after him and managed to catch him. At this point, the TN to do so is increased to 18. X = three regions out of Guilder, Maos, Tzalteclan, Elomaoli, Genivana, Nyroth, Woodwind and Grizzland.

**Lamencia is pretty obviously Lover's Lament, one of the Thirteenth Swords.

***Drought afflicts mostly regions that grow food but have little else in the way of it (Grizzland, Pryonia, Minotron, Bjurnja, Elomaoli, Arix'la, Nan Hai Nian, Galomyr). Famine might also afflict any of the regions previously affected by the war (Clanships, Frontier, Sah'raa, Rannara) or regions with little food in general (Bloomenwald Isles, Indica, Ascalaine, Intepeuh). If you include regions affected by the war, include a line to the effect of "even now, the decade of war that raged in the east has left its marks, and the land still needs to heal--as does its people".

In the wall he laid beside, the letters "GE" were carved. A vigilante slaying a youngster committing acts of vandalism? Or is there something more, something deeper?***

[512] With the world being ravaged by disease and famine, religious fervor everywhere sweeps people up. The Rijwak and Cree of Cridan and the various disparate faiths congregate, and over several years form a new faith, heavily influenced by Ascension, shamanism, Cree animism, depictions of dragons as evil demons, and a hierarchy based on and fascination with hats. Hail to the new faith of Ösököör! Hail to Cridan's new majority religion!****

[513] With the advent of the Fiery Faith in Eyrecradia, the elves of Shikurai begin to take more interest as well. A minority of Lord of Fire springs up in Shikurai!

[513] An oracle in Genivana falls to the ground with heavy convulsions, then rises! "In nine and ninefold nine again years shall the Great Man fall, and with him the whole of his House! The skies shall be burnt black as nightly dragons' gall." She then falls to the ground, never to stand or wake again. Those close to her say that she took a concoction of foreign hallucinogens, rather than the regular osuro mirc, but others whisper otherwise.

*Only if nobody has gone after him and managed to catch him. Existing minorities may grow larger or spread to neighbouring regions. At this point, the TN to do so is increased to 22. X = two regions out of Guilder, Maos, Tzalteclan, Elomaoli, Genivana, Nyroth, Woodwind and Grizzland. **This does not spread the disease to Ashenia. Unless you really want to, I guess.

***Probably not. :P

****If the Cree did nothing against the Pavonian immigrants last round, the faith is also influenced by the Path, including practices of runes drawn on hands and communal prayers to the ancestors.

The following morning, a panicking acolyte tells that one of the sacred ancient texts has been stolen!

*The Pusdeath returns! Bahahaha! Note that the cure from way back no longer works. Diseases mutate, after all. The round after (round 42), anyone who tried to help cure it (with the previous cure, that is--new cures may work), by administering it or giving it to Niskovia, will find it has reached their capital. There's a 10% chance that it automatically reaches those regions whose rulers have family ties to the Nisakoviches (Penoccident, Aus-Teire, Jarrland, Ashenia, any other region of the Sovereign Principality of Niskovia)

The Planinfrag, Intepeuh, Valterre and Malkavan, Puerto Melizine and Bjurnja and Sterkelv, Tempestia and Tuhiland and Trinacria, Ri Chugang, Esuma. Any two of these regions could receive a minority. (If picking Valterre or Malkavan, do both. If picking Puerto Melizine, Bjurnja or Sterkelv, put one in each. If picking Tempestia, Tuhiland or Trinacria, put one in each. If picking any of these groups, don't pick one of the other two, but instead take a single region.)

Aus-Teire, Kasumor, Genivana, Farridon, Ashenia, Sympolemou, Tempestia, Woodwind, Aloren, Gunung, Glazfell and Kapital each lose 2d10x1000 population. The Bloomenwald Isles, Indica, Ascalaine, Intepeuh and the Broken Enclave each lose 2d6x1000 population. Krepida and Tletica each lose 1d6x1000 population. Scla'ca, Fraezeid, Cantroth and Glirfrey each lose 1000 population.

The famine could last another round, to a lessened degree. Up to you. The regions I picked are among the most heavily populated ones and thus most likely to be hit the hardest, as well as some without native food resources (and food resources would mainly go to native populations in times of famine). For the population increases of the next round, you could decide that only native food resources count.

A new plague stalks the land. What begins as a cough soon is joined by joint and muscle pain so severe that sufferers are unable to walk. Fortunately, most pull through and make a full recovery after only a few weeks. Some though, aren't so lucky and by the time physicians expect them to start getting better they make a dramatic turn for the worse. Symptoms in the terminal stage vary, but they almost universally include a complete inability to move without severe agony, a bloody cough and the sensation of feeling cold even in direct Sunlight or next to a blazing fire. This period can last several months, though thankfully it is usually as short as a few days. Death is likewise, usually a quick affair as the patient succumbs to a sudden decrease in heart rate that leads to death.
After several years, the epidemic slows and eventually there are no new cases. Records indicate only a thousand people, mostly the young and the elderly, succumbed to the disease.

Three thousand people die due to injuries sustained during this rampage and two thousand others are left with permanent physical and psychological scars.

Called a bank, it allows people to safely store their money (for a yearly fee of course) in such a way that they can always come in and withdraw it and in exchange the bank loans this money and receives a profit on the interest payments (which they then pass on in some small way to their account holders to say "thank you for letting us do stuff with your cash.").
The scheme is perhaps even more brilliant than Concetta originally thought and her wealth grows substantially as other merchant families entrust their money to her protection and then decide to borrow from the Banca del Concetta to finance their own crazy schemes.

A Rannaran scholar, taking an interest in Erlstorm Kina, decides to plot the appearances of previous, naturally-occuring storms. After an extensive study of the Longsight mountains, she plots the locations and paths of the phenomena with exacting detail. While doing so, she notices that they vary in strength, duration, and damage. The group is well financed and made up of a large group of several nations' mercenaries, and makes its way to the hotspot. It is an ardous journey; several times on the climb smaller squalls seem to swell out of nowhere, killing half of the expedition. They return to the Du Lucas, but no announcement is made of the success of the trip.

Spoiler: Pre-Round things
Show
Dark told me about the great desert things, and I have an idea as to how to compute that. At the beginning of each round, roll a d20. If the result is a one, hen the stuff comes around. Just a thought, I'll probably be coming up with more stuff as time goes on.

Any Time, Any Event

Spoiler: Warband
Show
A new nomad nation appears in [Nation]! Severe unrest and discontent in the armies of [Nation] has caused (a large number of them) to split off and form their own mercenary band, led by a man calling himself Warlord [Name]. Strangely, many of the surrounding villages and towns embraced the cause, and many villagers and townsfolk have joined in with the group. The Warlord claims to remain loyal to [Nation], but will not tolerate its incompetent military command any longer.

The following is in effect for 10 rounds:
Experienced: This force of mercenaries is comprised almost entirely of veterans. +2 to combat

This nomad force has the following effect until either 10 rounds have passed or it has been made a vassal:
Underequipped: Exactly what it says on the tin. +1 Losses.
Hate me if you want. But that's your issue to fix, not mine.

Spoiler: Anytime Dünfel Event
Show

The Knights of the Black return! Emboldened by the chaos and slaughter in the world caused by Stuyvesant, they raise up arms in [Insert Nations with small amount of Jaaku Na influence] and march to war! Their intent? To take and mount 12 Dünfel skulls alongside the first. To what end this vile ritual will serve, nobody knows.

Spoiler: Anytime Glazfell Event
Show

A new underground industry has sprung forth in the capital city of Glazfell. Bareback Oil wrestling, a form of naked gladiatorial game inwhich two contestants smother themselves in oil and fight to escape an arena with only on exit. Word spreads of this sport trickling out from Glazfell, and when asked how it came to be an informant reported that "He had witnessed two Dünfel wrestling in tar pots trying to climb ontop of each other and grabbing ahold of the terrain." When asked again about the origins of this criminal ring he stated "Or maybe they were just rutting vigirously."

Spoiler: Anytime the Everburning Horde takes 2 or more Curiosity actions Event
Show

Heresy amongst the Horde! Angered by the flagrant defiance of the Old Ways and the Dünfel's traditional hatred of artifice [Random Dünfel] has broken his oath to Fel Malengorious and with it brings [1-3 other random Dünfel and a few thousand Fleshlings] with him/her! Blood must be paid, oaths reforged, and [Random Dünfel's] ultimatum has been set. [Current Dünfel Leader]'s head on a tree, or war!

Spoiler: Anytime Anywhere Event
Show

Stuyvesant, having fled from Raanara but still drunk off power now focuses his sights on a much darker and grander design. His ultimate mosaic of dark inspiration and mad science rendered into one form. [Random Dünfel or a Dünfel hatchling] has gone missing from the Everburning Horde! At first it was disregarded as a byproduct of their laxed focus on attendance, but unnatural screams can be heard on the winds of [Any Country], the tortured gasps of a being too large to be human, and word spreads of this tortured soul. It is not long after until [Random Dünfel] reemerges as some misbegotten creature of broken limbs and twisted artifice. Knowing only pain, the monster rampages across the countryside, its broken mind hellbent on causing disaster as Stuyvesant once more retreats into the shadows

(Could potentiall split this into two events, one where the Dünfel goes missing, and then a round later emerges as some Frankenstein-esque abomination).

Spoiler: Round 40 Events
Show
[528] Aus-Teire - Someone has attempted to steal Heaven, one of the Seven Swords! The thief, a lithe middle-aged man with glowing green eyes, fails to escape Xianzhi Urbe, and upon capture claims he intended to return the sword after doing something important with it. Not long after the sword is taken from him, the man enters a strange trance. After coming out his eyes no longer glow and he has no memory of how he even got into the Salterri Imperium.

[529] Nyroth - The giant spider eats a sightseer. His family are very upset and petition for the creature to be put down, which causes a massive riot among it's followers.

[528] Hrathan-Tuor - Several high-ranking Dark Moon cultists are found dead, with the words "Down with the Goats" carved on stones stuffed into their mouths.

Spoiler: Anytime events
Show
Guilder - a former Modest Assertion writer produces a play about antropomorphic representations of Tellurian religions living in a village together. The play is mainly a comedy drawing on black humor caused by the varying forms of psychopathy, insanity, or both possessed by many of the characters, but contains some social critique as well; notably pointing out that Yphine, for all her popularity, is in fact a genocidal maniac.

Hrathan-Tuor - people crossing the border into Hrathan-Tuor get a strong feeling they are being watched. Trade traffic decreases as a result, upsetting the guilds.

Spoiler: Round 40 Events
Show
527: Off the coast of Raaneka, a large sea creature has been spotted! Due to the recent craze and rumors surrounding the Watcher, some people in the area have grown very worried, causing a slight increase in unrest. Is this creature the result of drug induced hallucinations, or something more?
Spoiler: Investigation outcome:
Show
The 'large beast' spotted near the Raaneki coast is actually an extra-large whale with absolutely no psionic powers whatsoever. Original spotters declined to comment on the situation.

528: Major Temples of Panshen, Radurja, and the Dragon Cult in Aus-Tiere, Aloren, and Tzalteclan (respectively) have been robbed! Several religious idols have been stolen, and the temple walls have been vandalized with a form of bright green paint. Everyone at the temples at the time of the break-in has been found dead, the green paint covering their bodies. Who would do such a thing?
Spoiler: Investigation outcome:
Show
The thieves did a very good job of covering their tracks, and notable criminal organizations have denied any involvement, claiming that they wouldn't waste time on petty thievery at temples. However, one night, a gravely injured man claiming to know about the robbery comes to the Radurjan Senate. Before his wounds overtake him, he is able to utter one single word: Ridovo. He then collapses, dead.

Of course, you can rewrite these in any way you'd like (as previously mentioned, I am a terrible writer), or not include them at all.

Presuming it's the eggs hatching: Madhav Roberts, Mtambuzi and once politician, goes public with his personal research* on the Watcher. It seems that in the years since his first meeting with the creature he has become obsessed, and is certain the Watcher has plans to destroy everything the Republics hold dear. He urges the Senate and anyone who will listen to aid him immediately in destroying the beast and it's brood.

*His research amounts to years worth of scattered notes bound into multiple thick tomes, significant portions are indecipherable partially because of his great intellect and partially because he is becoming unhinged. Throw in any information you like?
