What do you Girls want from a Guy physicaly?
Part curiosity, part insecurity, Im just interested what you the girls/ women/ ladies (whichever you prefer) find preferable physicaly in a guy/man. Im about 100% likely to regret asking this, but I am becase I wont have the guts to ask later.

Re: What do you Girls want from a Guy physicaly?
This would depend very much on the individual asked.
While there are some generalisations that can be made (good personal hygiene is typically a given), beyond that it's a matter of personal taste.

Re: What do you Girls want from a Guy physicaly?
Yep - to better visualize this point, just invert the situation: it's the same with men.
As examples: one could go to stereotypes and imagine that all men are attracted to large breasts and such, but that would be far from the actual reality; some even prefer small breasts. Some men care highly about women's feet and/or hands, while others don't really think about that at all. Roughly half of men prefer tall women and the other half prefer short women (and some might not really care about height either way). Etcetera.Last edited by Ellye; 2014-06-13 at 11:25 AM.

If you really want lots of varying opinions from many different women...
For me, it's faces and smiles. Can't elaborate what about faces, other than nice faces.

Tall, blonde, blue eyes, clean shaven or a bit of scruff. Cut but not burly - still a hint of prettyboy about them. Also has to be Chris Hemsworth or Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Re: What do you Girls want from a Guy physicaly?
Now, this is coming from a guy. Specifically, this is coming from a guy whose concept of the romantic is about as stunted as can be, so take everything I say with a large grain of salt. But I used to work in a place that was 80% women, a good portion of whom seemed to enjoy gossiping about their significant others more than anything else. A friend of mine had a crush with one of the girls that I was friendly toward and asked for some information about her. Which is when I actually started paying attention to what they were saying. This is what I believe seems to be the type of guy that was most liked.
1) Not obese. There were some who claimed to enjoy liking a guy that had "more to snuggle" but being a complete ball of fat never seemed appealing.
2) Fun. There was only one girl who I don't remember ever talking about what fun time they had with their significant other. She seemed to only be in it for the tall dark and handsome thing and never made a mention about what they did together beyond screwing.
3) Decently well groomed. Now this is deceptive. Some seemed to go for the whole stylishly tussled hair and unshaven look. But if you actually went around without showering or with obvious bedhead it wasn't appealing. Odor seemed important as well.
4) Not a terrible dresser. Now, I have no idea about fashion at all. I wear shorts and t-shirts every day I can get away with it, but I heard so much crap about what was being worn and how embarrassed that their significant other wore these pants with those socks or whatever else. So I have no concept of what was considered good dressing, but evidently not being bad was somehow important.
That's really it. Some girls would go on and on about their guys eyes. Others seemed to only go for a guy who looked like he could bench press them with one hand. Others would go on and describe how beautiful their guy was and then describe someone who sounded completely plain to me. It depended upon the person.

I know this seems shallow, but I really do like it if a guy takes care of their body halfway decently...

Hmm, I'm not really often attracted to guys, but when it tends to be towards femme-y guys. Don't like facial hair at all, good hygiene is important of course. I really like expressive faces too.

Re: What do you Girls want from a Guy physicaly?
The truth is that Disney has it right.
Everyone is a fixer-upper. But fortunately for the propagation of the species humans are also equipped with enormously powerful filters capable of shutting out almost everything. "Bad smell" becomes "manly odor", "disgusting habits" become "endearing quirks" and a "below-average appearance" can always be transformed into "I'm not one of those shallow people".Avatar by CoffeeIncluded

*insert crass statement about competent, responsive lovers that combine the best parts of being able to listen and being able to just read minds here*
Indeed. I didn't know anyone really liked men with blond hair all that much until now. I had some suspicions, of course, but nothing concrete.
Hey, my musk is highly attractive! It's just only attractive to women who are already sexually attracted to me.
No idea how it began to smell like cake that one time though.

Making my love life suffer more like.
Got a pic of you without a shirt on?
Apparently I have a type and that type is blonde hair and blue eyes. Five relationships - two are blonde and blue eyes, one brunette with blue eyes, one with green eyes and blonde hair and the fifth was an abusive so and so. Admittedly they were all girls but the guys I like also fit the spectrum.Last edited by Zorg; 2014-06-13 at 11:23 AM.

Re: What do you Girls want from a Guy physicaly?
Speaking with the voice of experience:
1. Stay clean.
2. Stay reasonably neat.
3. Stay reasonably in shape.
Beyond that, be yourself. You're never going to be able to maintain a "look" that isn't you, and if the lady can't accept a clean, reasonably neat, reasonably trim guy who doesn't sprain something trying to look like some kind of imaginary perfect fashion plate (which is going to differ from individual to individual anyway) and has some individuality in the way he dresses (even if that individuality is expressed as "absolutely nothing special, comfort and practicality is king"), then there's nothing there to begin with and you're better off moving on to the next lady to see if she's more reasonable.Spoiler
So the song runs on, with shift and change,
Through the years that have no name,
And the late notes soar to a higher range,
But the theme is still the same.
Man's battle-cry and the guns' reply
Blend in with the old, old rhyme
That was traced in the score of the strata marks
While millenniums winked like campfire sparks
Down the winds of unguessed time. -- 4th Stanza, The Bad Lands, Badger Clark

Re: What do you Girls want from a Guy physicaly?
Eh... I guess that if we start giving advice on how to get a lady's interest, I might chip in as well...
My 2 coppers: make her laugh. That's basically it.
I'm not saying "be a buffoon", but if you can manage to make a girl laugh and smile, while also teasing her (if you're good at it), tickling her interest, I find it doesn't take very long for them to open up. Get it? Open up? I'm talking about SEX! I'M SO SUBTLE! ^_^

Re: What do you Girls want from a Guy physicaly?
I guess I am technically a girl, so...
The basic stuff is basic: clean/doesn't smell, doesn't scare small children with crazed appearance, washes clothes on a semi-regular basis. I'm not really into "hot" or "cute", I'll happily date someone quite strange-looking if I think they're an awesome person.
As for personality? My real "must have" thing is that he has to be nice. And I don't just mean "does nice things for me because he likes me" or "is nice to his family and friends" but that he is in general thoughtful, good, caring, kind, helpful, sweet, nice (pick an adjective, any adjective).
Other things I like: smart, funny, similar worldviews, someone I can enjoy spending time with and is relaxing/low-stress to be around. It's important to have similar interests or the ability to be happy in a relationship where people go their separate ways a lot (i.e., I don't want to limit the hobbies I enjoy if he doesn't want to do the same thing).
In my low self-esteem moments, I ask myself things like: why does anyone even like me? Why do they want me around? Who would ever want to date me? And I think the way to deal with those questions is to consider, in general... what am I bringing to this situation, be it work, family or social. Am I a pain in the ass? Do I whine and complain too much? Do I pester people? Am I, in general, a drag? Or do I help people with a smile, or make them laugh, or do they have more fun when I'm around, or do I give good advice? Try to be a positive influence on every situation that you can, even if it's in a small way. You want people to look forward to seeing you. In the long run that's why people, girls included, will want to spend time with you. Not because you precisely ticked all the boxes on their mental chart of the ideal man.
Edit: I just realized you were specifically only asking about physical stuff. Sorry I guess the answer is: I'm not that picky, physically...Last edited by SarahV; 2014-06-13 at 01:21 PM.
