Yeah, the Adamants are the ones that officially (in-setting propaganda) don't exist, hence their not matching up with any Creation Exalts. And then you add Nocturnals, who also officially don't exist (in canon), who are also Adamant partly because that lines them up nicely.

What do you mean propaganda? The eight nations and tunnel folk don't know they exist at all, the adamants are built to be hard to remember. I'm not sure it's possible to even have conspiracy theories about them.

I mean that officially according to in-setting materials they don't exist but any player who read the MoEP does. "Propaganda" was the wrong word.

Not really. Strong-willed folk can consciously fight the affects of their anima. It's just that...you have to consciously decide to do that, and Adamants don't really interact with people as is, let alone strong-willed ones.

Secret splat gets secret bases. It's like how the Nagah in Werewolf: the Apocalypse operate, being another secret splat with secret spirit allies with secret pull and clout. Their facilities tend to be far, far away from established cities and settlements, but they still have them.

There are five Theopoli, Adamant cities rooted in the Pole of Crystal. Four of them are dedicated to the Divine Ministers, two each, while the youngest is dedicated to the Maker as a whole and doesn't get ministerial support. The first Adamant(s?) came from the laboratories of the Ministers same as the founders of the eight nations.

Don't they describe it in Compass Autochthonia? It's a constant state of low grade selective amnesia. Hold on...

That reminds me, if Om's anima is flaring enough for that to be an issue, shouldn't all the cities be flaring fairly frequently? If that is the case, then shouldn't they be fairly bright all things considered?

Makes me wonder what the Luminators are doing with most of their time.

How did people survive in Autocthon long enough for the first wave of alchemicals to become cities?

I was always under the impression from somewhere that most cities ARE flaring their anima often or always, probably with some sort of schedule worked out to fuel their municipal charms while leaving an emergency mote reserve for crisis situations. as for the brightness, I figured that spreading out an anima across several miles means that it's noticeable from a huge ways off in the larger caverns, but get in close and it would be more like a phosphorescent glow on a moonless eve: you know it's there, but it's not going to light your path without supplementation.

Work just like stunts, sort of.

In the Wyld: describe whatever special effect you want (up to and including the Sun coming down to pour you a cup of tea), and it happens. You get bonus dice like a stunt, and can take advantage of the arbitrary physics you just invented. Light is now a solid you can walk on, mountains drop down on anyne who says "Raksha are bad news", whatever. The effect you just decreed is irresistible by minor raksha and wyld things, as well as mortals with a strong Wyld taint. Anyone more powerful than that can spend willpower to ignore the persistant effects (albeit at a penalty), though the dice bonus you got it still there.

In Creation: it's a stunt. You are explicitly limited to effects weaker than First Circle Sorcery (unless your Essence and Heart are high enough), but it still allows you to do a lot of fun stuff. Unlike normal stunts, you can bring in things that are not there normally, and use effects that aren't really possible. Lots of bluff potential and very effective on the Wyld tainted, but can't actually hurt people unless you're high Essence (and they can spend willpower anyway).

In practical terms, they work just like stunts, except the limit on what happens is much more open ended. An 'empowered' Wyld Stunt (via a high rating in the Style background) is basically "rearrange the environment and everything in it however feels cool - for one trick, and it's illusory enough that it can be resisted, so use it to pull off a one-shot awesome setup and back it up with real power afterward".

Items can be imbued with the power of the Wyld, enabling a single Wyld stunt (via Translucent Dream Sheathing Technology), for one way these things can be exploited. Cheap, short lived fairy tale magic items, effectively. And if you're just stunting on your own, you get to declare that your cloak lets you fly and is imprevious to heat, rather than need to invest the effects. Also see Veil of Glamour, for slightly more durable created items, creatures, and enhanted objects.

Since performing one costs no resources, it should probably be less powerful in a specialized area than the similar Charms - mostly by virtue of being hard to use often, short lived if creating something, and resistible via willpower. That said, it's extremely versatile, while Charms tend to be specific tricks you can repeat reliably and imbue wit power.

Been quiet here lately. Someone tell me of any experience they have had playing or STing for E5+ Exalts. I am looking for some fuel to flesh out the end of a campaign that has gone all the way from E2 to E6, and which isn't likely to see E7 in actual gameplay. Just curious about what the community has actually done with it, as opposed to what the books suggest.

    Thanks.

My advice: From essence 6 onwards, you're playing much more freeform. People have charms that act as absolute trump cards in their field of expertise. Give enemies similar trumps in slightly different fields. At essence 6, your best sources of opposition are similarly powerful exalts, some behemoths, and primordials (though not yet in direct combat for the last). Work with your players to design iconic powers, and don't worry too much about balance.

Yeah. I now just simplify even Exalt v Hordes with a version of Essence roll-offs. The E6 Lunar schooled over 2k E3 and E4 demons last session, in waves of 200-300 (he's a dedicated demonslayer, so it wasn't much of a contest).

Currently they are exploring near-Apocalypse Autochthonia, which is imperiled by the blightzones and the gremlins, among other things. The party wants to talk to Autochthon to see if they can fix the Loom of Fate and the Exaltations. Should be interesting.

It's not so much that they are broken, as the party is looking to improve them.

Great Curse: Though they aren't a 100% certain of the cause, the party knows that something is universally wrong with the Exaltations (or at least the Celestial ones...nobody was really interested in the DBs at this juncture). So they think that Autobot might be able to fix them, or at least deliver some enlightenment as to what is wrong.

Loom of Fate: The party is interested in fixing or removing the part where one of the Maidens needs to sacrifice herself every so often to make new thread for the loom, because, as it is, the Maidens aren't cooperating. And this lack of cooperation has imperiled all of Creation, so they are looking to find a new way to do things that will help get the Maidens back on board (and hopefully remove the self-sacrifice bit from their portfolio).
In my dreams, I am currently a druid 20/wizard 10/arcane hierophant 10/warshaper 5. Actually, after giving birth to a galaxy by splitting a black hole, level is no longer relevant.
