I agree that the whole thing is more likely than not to be a throwaway joke, but since it would be genuinely funny if revisited, especially if Haley actually did become a casual Thor-worshipper, I wouldn't be remotely surprised to see it become an ongoing thing.

If jokes were made about Haley being a worshipper of Thor, then that would still be pretty funny. I doubt that fact would be, in any way, helpful in revealing the High Priest of Hel.

Some of the best puns are done by accident. And then there are the puns were someone could have made a good pun, and had been making several puns in the same sentence, but missed the opportunity.
