Street of Slavers

There's three main options. A shop formerly titled SLAVE but recently renamed to GIRLS, which specialises in young, humanoid girls, aged between thirteen and thirty- though most are at least fifteen. A shop named MALE, opposite, specialises in young, male humanoids; the range of ages is similar to that of the first. The final shop is called EXOTIC, and specialises in those slaves that cannot fit in the standardised enclosures used by the other stores due to their size (fairies and giants), are too dangerous to sell without specialist precautions (medusae, lycanthropes and shapeshifters) or have special environmental needs (merpeople).

Lucretia considers entering GIRLS for a few moments, but changes her mind after a glance at Nightraven.
"Perhaps not another female slave. I know you become jealous when I spend my attentions on other women, my little Nightraven."
"I do not recall ever have experienced such, mistress."
"No? Still, I think I could use some male toys around the household... and I think they would be less likely to become damaged, should I leave you alone with them."
"Whatever you feel is appropriate, mistress."

Street of Slavers

The slaves will not be wearing much, and in most cases the restraints used will cost extra or even have to be bought from other stores. Unless, of course, E brought even chains, manacles and so on to subdue and transport all the slaves he bought today. The slavers will not sell anybody he has selected whilst he's fetching any equipment he needs, so that's good at least.

Well, E did bring some chains, but not quite enough. Well, he's willing to pay for the needed equipment. Anyways, out of the random group of slaves he's gathering, he does select for his private twenty-five more of the pleasure slaves than of the other groups.

Street of Slaves- MALE

The shop is well-lit and professional, with a number of cages within. Each cage has enough room for a cramped bed and a bucket, and all of them house somebody. All the 'somebodies' are male, and all are humanoid; the most exotic ones are a twenty-year-old green-scaled Argonian with a cluster of blue feathers on the top of his head and a fifteen-equivalent lanky gnoll with bone rings in his ears. They are also all clad only in loincloths. Humans are a minority, though the largest one; there's about one human for every five slaves. There's humans, half-elves, half-orcs, elves, drow, goblinoids, the Argonian, khajiit, various animal eared or tailed Faunus, a twi'lek, some grey-skinned Nebari, dwarfs, orcs, and many others, depending on Lucretia's choice. The proprietor, a female feline Zygerrian, is sitting in a chair along the side of the wall stroking the reddish hair of a kneeling sixteen-year-old pale half-elf wearing a silk collar and an ephemeral robe that just about conceals more than the loincloths.

Lucretia looks over the inventory briefly, then approaches the proprietor. "Excuse me, I was thinking of buying in multiples. Do you perhaps have any matching sets?"

"We have some, yes. They're this way; follow me." The feline alien smiles and stands, walking towards the back of the store. The half-elf is left behind.

At the back are some larger cages containing the sets; a pair of muscular dark-skinned Redguard twins with brown hair and dark brown eyes, aged about sixteen, three small reddish-orange goblins, equivalent to fourteen, with large, purple eyes and black hair, a pair of slender, pale-skinned half-elves with curly brown hair, blue eyes and aged approximately seventeen, two fourteen-equivalent goblins with dark purple skin, luminous yellow eyes and spiky white hair and two halflings aged thirteen-equivalent with olive skin, green eyes and shoulder-length black hair.

The lot bought for E himself will be in one of his twisted games, the rest for the purpose that Adel (ThirdEmporer) wanted. And so away he goes, the groups in chains after him.

Well technically they went to GIRLS before, back when it was SLAVE, to buy up unwanted discount creatures, and this time they're at EXOTIC.
But still.

A slightly oddly proportioned man in a suit and bowtie and sunglasses that he doesn't remove even on going indoors and looking around.

Elsewhere on the streets there's a little stand st up by a group of abolitionists. They aren't protesting to try to change some law, of course, because there aren't any. But to try to make customers think twice and provide information about why owning slaves is a bad deal, all in all, boasting outrageous and likely skewed statistics about the frequency of escapes and hero attacks here in the Nexus.

The shop has been divided into several sections, with the area at the front holding a variety of human-sized or smaller individuals in specialist cages. The wall by the counter has been covered in small bottles and jars, and a doorway leads into an area for significantly larger individuals or ones with specialist needs- merfolk, for example. The shopkeeper, a hybrid of drow and orc, stands by the counter, preparing a bottle to hold some small variety of fey.

But the front room contains caged lycanthropes behind bars of silver, a brown-skinned, lanky and faceless doppelganger wearing a metal collar, halfling-sized one-legged monopods, a creature that looks like the right half of a human, without the left half at all, scaly lizardpeople, kobolds, several winged elves, and some avian humanoids. There are others, but those are the most obvious ones upon entering.

There's a group of slavers headed towards the abolitionists. There's ten hairy bugbears with thick brown or black fur wearing polished steel breastplates over red jumpsuits and wearing modern-style police riot helmets. Each bugbear is carrying a number of nets, a stout oak cudgel and a cattleprod. In front of the group is a singularly ugly man, with too-long arms, a wide, froglike mouth, beady little eyes, an upturned nose and a slightly bluish complexion. He's a hagspawn- his mother and any sisters are full Green Hags, whilst his father was magically enslaved and used as breeding stock. He is wearing a tailored business suit and bowler hat, though the chain shirt beneath the suit jacket spoils the effect, as does the crude-looking orichalcum sword of Orsimer design hanging at his waist. One of the bugbears drops a sturdy wooden box in front of the hagspawn and he steps onto it to address the crowd. "My name is Naodan the Reject, and I am asking you to disperse in the next five minutes. Other squads are being equipped as I speak, and in five minutes we shall gather anybody left in this group. In other, unrelated news, there is a flatbed lorry over there, and in an hour's time all the squadleaders shall host an auction." Though the squadleaders do not currently have any slaves to sell at auction.

What would you do with half of a human? Seems less practical than a monopod, and too weird looking to be of much interest besides.
He looks over the avian humanoids, those being the only ones of interest here, before moving on to the area for larger and stranger beings.

The human abolitionists grumble but start packing up. They're not here for a violent confrontation if they can avoid it. They have more moral high ground to stand on.

Nas-Nas are naturally skilled fighters, as well as being interestingly magical for anybody that wishes to study such. But yes, the right half of a human does seem a bit pointless without the left. Also, the owner will smile and nod back.

The avians are Aarakocra, and these particular examples resemble a cross between humans, eagles and a parrot, with bright blue plumage on the two males- the three females are green. Their body shape and limb proportions resembles humans more than they do another humanoid, but their bills and taloned feet are the weapons of flesh-eating birds. The females are slightly larger, though not by much, and all five have heavy iron shackles on their ankles. Their arms are covered in feathers, and serve as wings. Both hands and feet are capable of holding and manipulating objects, though not at the same time- the hands are occupied during flight whilst the feet are needed to walk. All five of the Aarakocra are at least two metres tall, and powerfully built with large torsos to anchor their flight muscles.

In the room for larger individuals, there are fewer cages, and some of those are empty. A white-skinned cloud giantess with long, blue-white hair and piercing sky-blue eyes stands just under four metres high. She wears a long, white robe and appears to be the equivalent of eighteen at the oldest. Three centaur are housed individually, two female and one male. The male is built for speed, with the sleek, black-furred body of a racehorse; his humanoid torso is just as slender and graceful, with brown skin, green eyes and black hair; he appears about sixteen. The girls are the equivalent of fourteen, with piebald coats and pale skin; their equine parts are slightly stouter, not race-quality but would still be judged as fine horses. They are so similar they can only be twin sisters. Curled up in the corner of another cage is a three-metre long naga, with black and red striped scales terminating at one end with a rattlesnake's rattle and at the other with the head of a twenty-two year old human woman. An albino drider glares from his cage, long white hair cascading down his back; he appears the equivalent of seventeen. Three orange-skinned ogres are yelling abuse in their crude language at each other; they're massively built, chunky individuals. One is female, with rank black hair and deep purple eyes. They all appear to be in the equivalent of their twenties. In the enclosure next to them, a male ettin is trying to sleep; his skin is dark red. He is slightly taller than the ogres, though their tusks are bigger. A tank against one wall contains a male triton, his humanoid frame covered in fine green scales. He has fins along his arms, legs and spine, and lacks a nose- he has a blow hole in the back of his neck. It's hard to judge how old he is; the differences between him and a land-dwelling humanoid make his appearance too alien.

Keeping to their word, more squads of slave-catchers appear after five minutes; ten gnolls wearing leather armour and carrying long, spear-like electric goads led by a half-orc in denim dungarees and a checked shirt, armed with a taser, ten orcs in black riot armour with stout clubs led by a hobgoblin in red riot armour carrying an electrified mace, ten grimlocks in biker's leathers and carrying cattleprods led by a human wearing a blue Vault 120 jumpsuit with a pistol at his waist and six graceful drow with whips and bolas wearing loose shirts and pantaloons. They'll converge on where the protesters stood, approaching from different sides. Any that are still there will be variously snared by whips, nets or bolas, or disabled by club or electric shock before being carried into the slave guard's barracks.

The customer frowns at the aarkocra, and starts making a list.

Bird things with the hard to pronounce name - no. Feathers all over, not a good sign. Too reptilian, usually.
Giantess - yes. Useful even as a singleton.
Centaurs - yes. Unfortunate that the two appear to be twins, but still a sufficient set.
Naga - No. Again, too reptilian.
Drider - No. Even worse than the naga, with its arthropod structure.
Ogres - No. Unnecessary, inefficient.
Ettin - Same, though the two heads are interesting and possibly useful.
Triton - Not worth the effort. They are in the sky, and have no intention of spending much more time near bodies of water where he'd be useful. As for vanity things, exotic fish do fine.
Winged Elves back in the first area - Yes. Can always do with more slightly-better-than-generic humanoids.

He returns to the shopkeeper and inquires about the prices of those 'yes' marked beings.

They find nobody extra to clap in irons.
The people were peaceful demonstrators.

And that includes, to them, not being subject to violence either.

The cloud giant is expensive- she's pretty, young, long-lived and hard to capture and transport. Easily 500 standard currency. The centaur twins are likewise expensive, though less so- easier to transport, harder to catch, not so long lived. Also, as a pair, they're perfect for somebody that wants to show off their wealth by harnessing them to their carriage; together they're about the same as the cloud giant, with the male slightly less than the girls. The winged elves, all three of them, are cheaper, at about 150 each; they'll live longer than the others, but the shop-owner has a contact that can provide them regularly, and few customers can take advantage of their entire lifespan.

The ettin, should he be chosen, would be the cheapest. Ettins don't live as long as true giants, and aren't as attractive either. He's just under 100.

The three winged elves are two male, one female. The eldest is one of the males, at the equivalent of early twenties, whilst the other male is the youngest, at approximately fourteen. The female is the equivalent of seventeen. They all have cloud-white skin and feathered wings, with white-blond hair. The girl's eyes are brown, whilst the man has blue and the boy green. They're all wearing specially adapted sets of underwear.

Should also be maybe noted that the triton has a blow hole- he can live on land indefinitely, though he'll need to submerge himself in water periodically.

The slavers don't care- they're paid enough that the added slaves aren't necessary, and due to the proliferation of slavers around here selling them at auction won't get a good price unless any are really pretty or unusual.

The cost for the giant is deemed fair. Giants, you know? Rare, valuable. Of course.
For the centaurs, well, the customer hasn't quite reached that level of decadence. And he prefers his transport to be much flashier than a wheeled carriage. The elves the same. The customer would be interested in this contact, if he knew about it. As it is he merely intends to outlive the elves, and while he'll need a few hundred eventually three makes a start.
And the ettin as well. They can study how the two heads work and then put him to work somewhere or other.

But he's not buying the triton no matter how many reasonable features the slaver points out.

So, is that the three elves, the cloud giant, the ettin and the three centaur, or only one centaur, or? The male is slightly less than one of the girls, by the way. Rereading it, it wasn't clear.

I don't understand the 'classic pricing ' comment, I'm afraid. Could you please elaborate?

The drow/orc hybrid smiles when the deal is done and checks that any bags he is given do at least contain coins. He won't count it out, but he will just check to ensure it's not a bag of gravel again.

If the currency is indeed currency, he'll call for some backup and, with the help of his previously-hidden hobgoblin employees take all the chosen slaves out of their enclosures and into some simple shackles. They aren't pretty, but they are effective and shorten the strides of the centaurs, ettin and giant enough that they can't take advantage of their long legs of speedy nature to escape. On the winged elves, they are heavy enough to stop them from flying away.

Pricing the girls based on being girls, or at least being a pair.
It's a shame.

The currency is real currency, amazingly.
And well shackled, with assistants on the way to watch all the prisoners, the customer should be able to take them all away.

Then you are mistaken. The female centaur aren't more expensive than the male one because they are female. They are more expensive because they are two years younger than the male centaur. They are priced identically to each other; the price was given initially for the pair because the shopkeeper assumed that anybody interested in one fourteen-equivalent centaur would be equally interested in the other and, if they are buying the giant as well, rich enough to afford the pair.

The slaves, unable to effectively run, and with both giantess and ettin having their hands bound behind their backs, will follow. The drorc knows how dangerous they can be if they are given a chance, and a dead customer is only rarely a repeat customer.

Lucretia definitely seems to be biased towards humanoids (perhaps a consequence of being one herself), giving the two half-elves a quick notice, but seeming to be attracted to the muscular Redguards.

If you need a food taster, they make a poor choice. They aren't a group known for their skill with magic, but they aren't magical nulls- far from it; their homeworld is full of mages and wizards, and Redguards traditionally prefer the martial skills to the magical ones. These two were with a trading caravan that was ambushed by one of my suppliers; they were apprentice merchants, making their first contacts and learning the best routes and so on, though they've still had some weapons training." The two boys look apprehensively at the vampire and notably her attire, though they aren't so apprehensive they don't glance at her, ah, neckline.

A group has arrived here. It comprises of a wagon pulled by a large black, shiny beetle. The wagon's back comprises of a cage, with five scared people in it- all young, human and male. Driving the wagon is an Aasimar woman with golden skin, silver hair and glowing white eyes. She's wearing a long chain shirt that ends at her knees under a red tabard emblazoned with a double-ended centipede. Her legs are clad in thick, padded jodhpurs and a tall silver helm sits next to her. She stops outside MALE and starts unloading her captives- a dark-skinned sixteen-year-old, a pale nineteen-year-old, a pair of tanned fifteen-year-old twins and a twenty-year-old covered in dirt and clad in tattered scraps of clothing. The others are all wearing blue jumpsuits with different numbers on the back- a 13, a 104, a 99 and a 78. Three orcs have left the shop to help the aasimar with the slaves for sale.

To blend into a crowd, to hide in plain sight, is a piece of cake. A throng of bodies conceals you. A swarming mass of flesh and bone envelops all who flow through the veins of any thriving city. The trick is not to try to make yourself inconspicuous but to be inconspicuous. You, like your living, breathing shield, are traveling from Point A to Point B. In that, each and every member of this traveling freakshow is alike and indistinguishable from any other. In their purpose, however...

"Peace is a lie, there is only passion."

This whisper drowns in a sea of noise. The speaker, a buxom woman of nineteen years with silky blond hair, icy blue eyes, and an almost unnaturally pale complexion, moves through the scum who waddle up and down these streets, this filth that should be wiped from the face of this planet, these ****heads that claim that those who are less fortunate than themselves only in luck of birth or circumstance are their possessions! They'll bleed for what they've done. She'll drain this city of life drop by drop until all that remains is a dessicated husk of what was once a mockery of civilization.

She'd kill them. She'd strike them down one by one or two by two, man, woman, or child...

But not today. Today, this glorious day, she hunts a much worthier prize.

"Through passion, I gain strength."

"Through strength, I gain power."

This is a place of suffering and despair. She can feel the anguish of those held captive within these walls. Hatred that burns within them, hopelessness that even dreams cannot dispel, and wounds that will never heal bind Toy to them. They understand. They are the only ones who can understand. But understanding is not enough! Understanding is not enough!

They are weak. They are fools. They are unknown variables in an increasingly complicated equation.

She can only trust Shantelle. Toy and Shantelle are two parts of a whole, and only together can they survive. Without Shantelle, Toy is nothing.

She's nearly upon them now. Toy keeps her head down but pulls back the hood of her black Sith robes so that Lady Azurelle will be able to see Toy's expression as her (Azurelle's) world comes crashing down around her. With a hum, her red-bladed lightsaber ignites, and with one fluid motion, Toy attempts to bisect one of the orcs at the waist before kicking his or her torso at Azurelle. If all of the orcs are clustered together, Toy will attempt to bisect all three of them at once. She does not care if any of Azurelle's merchandise is in her way - she'll slice straight through 13, 104, 99, and/or 78 to kill all of the orcs in one turn if the three orcs are all in close proximity to one another.

Shantelle, clad in her usual outfit, moves to the side of the crowd of meatshields/orcs and Azurelle, and as her beloved makes her move upon the monster who stands there, she grins a wild, twisted, mad grin. In one swift, lethal motion, Shantelle aims to press the hilts of her sabers upon the form of two orcs, and impale them as her blades ignite, the glass-coated handles fitting in her grip with security.
Swiftly, the psychopathic poculokinetic moves to free her blades by cutting the hapless slaves through and bring them up. Like the axe of some vengeful executioner, she swings the reaping blades down to slay the next one who stands before her.

The orcs are all male, and Toy is quite able to bisect the closest and kick his corpse towards the Black Paladin, who deflects his body one-handed, reaching to her waist with her other hand and pulling free her spear. The hand which deflected the orc's corpse is raised, and with a sienna light a spectral sword-shape of writhing worms appears behind Azurelle's back- her Individual Magic Effect. A more physical beetle appears in her hand and flies toward Toy, though it is the same colour as the sword behind her back. The beetle flies towards Toy, buzzing and weaving erratically, aiming to land on the former slave and lay its quickly-gestating eggs upon her flesh.

Shantelle, meanwhile, kills the remaining orcs, and the slaves, seeing the slavers dead or occupied, try to escape. Shantelle can easily cut down 13, one of the twins, and the raggedy man, but the others are fleeing as fast as they can. The beetle pulling the wagon is aware of its mistress' peril, and that the Knight of Dalachrech doesn't yet know of Shantelle, but harnessed to the wagon it is severely hampered, able only to squirt a stream of potent acid at the Sith Devotee's face. The acid won't dissolve glass, stone or metal, but bare flesh is vulnerable, and wood is affected at a much slower rate.

"Well, no. Not yet. But they were only apprentices, so obedience should come easy to them, especially if combined with physical punishment." But they are a martial race, so they might not bend easily.

A pregnant beetle, however fecund, is little more than a nuisance to Toy. The power of the Sith is her's to command, and even the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
Her mind, a canvas.
That and she's something much, much, much more lethal than a common Sith, though I doubt that will be of any real consequence in the immediate future.
Her pain, a promise.

It's a shame that the energy it might transfer to Azurelle's insect is far less than 1.21 gigawatts. It won't be going back to the future, but it may be going back to Azurelle's hand. The red lightning should then flow into the metal tip of Azurelle's spear, which might be a major problem for Azurelle, seeing as it will either have to jump a gap to reach the ground or, alternatively, surge through her armor.
