...Did Janine think they were talking about toilets at first? I don't know how she could possibly interpret it that way.

Or does "bog" mean something else that only exists in this comic's setting?

EDIT: Bunch Of Guys. Nevermind, I didn't think to check the Wikipedia disambiguation page, instead just googling "bog definition."

Probably. I have some editing I need to do too.

Also, the Bogs are sort of the slums of Runite. There are a lot of Plavaan there. It's played a role in the Tales of Aequar campaign that's currently going on.

Ugh, mosquitoes I feel your pain, Matt. If those things would even stay in the bogs, but noo... They have to be everywhere.

Should there be some indication that Radic is about to wildshape? A glow perhaps?

Remind me of one episode from Magic School Bus where it reminds on how swamps are important to ecosystem as much as they breed mosquito and yucky.
AKA they protect water supply and prevent floodings.

No. The entire plot of the episode centered around a debate on why a swamp/wetland was better for the city than a new mall.

They also learned where marshmallows come from. iirc.

    Loved that show.

Not really sure what it has to do with Murphy's law, but whatever.

Well, that had to do both medium's topic on importance on swamps, which the old idea of "let's drain it, it's useless" turned out to be a bad idea in the long run.
edit: well, it's not pleasant but the good part is usually ignored.

Wow... I just started reading this comic as a lighthearted substitute for OOTS, while waiting for the new strips to come out...
Turned out this comic actually has an even darker feel to it than OOTS. Why is it that all my favorite webcomics always make a turn for dark and edgy at some point?

I'm beyond page 200 now and I feel depressed. Even the upbeat Janine suffered a mental breakdown already. :(

Anyways, you have an engaging story here! Amazing job! I first thought the characters appeared to be pretty one-dimensional, but I actually like them all now. Except for tinder. I couldn't bond with him yet... maybe because he didn't contribute much to the story except for a few hoarding jokes so far.
Seems like he will develope a kind of Bro-mance to Lloyd? I'd be okay with that. :P

Oh, and kudos for the "What? You expect me to make a joke about class skills now?"-reference. ;)

You really nailed some of the visual gags, like that giant dwarven beer in the tavern. Please more of that. I almost died laughing when seeing this. XD

If you're open for suggestions, here are my thoughts:
    - the selection of colors is sometimes a bit intrusive visually. You tend to apply large contrasts in backgrounds, which takes away from the depth-of-field effect to focus the viewer on the action in the foreground. Maybe apply weaker contrasts to the backgrounds so they blend better? Just imagine it like having some volumetric fog hanging over the background, that tints the background in the color of the environmental fog. Imagine a mountain range turning blue, blending more and more with the sky as it approaches the horizon.

See this image for a reference on what I mean:
    http://cdn.superbwallpapers.com/wall...05-400x250.jpg

    - the order in which speech bubbles should be read is sometimes a bit confusing. Remember that people read from the topleft to the bottom-right. You sometimes drew panels in which (by context) you are supposed to read the uppermost bubble first. But that uppermost bubble is actually on the right side of the panel. Think of it like drawing a diagonal line from the top-left to the bottom-right of a panel: readers will intuitively read those bubbles first that are closer to this line. If a bubble is far away (for example, in the top right corner), no matter how much higher it is placed, readers will probably read a bubble on the left side first.

Oh, and here are my comments on the individual characters:
    - Lloyd: damn, I never thought I could like a Paladin character, but Lloyd is actually pretty awesome. Keep up the good work! I loved the strip where he talked about burning books. Also, bonus points for being super flawed for a paladin, especially when it comes to treating his collegues.
    - Matt: Didn't like him at first, but the jumping and climbing thing really got me hooked on this character. I just hope there's more to him in the future than just the relationship with Radic. I'm curious what Todeem will reveal about him.
    - Tinder: As I already said above: I hope he will contribute more to the story in the future. So far, he just seems like a comedic relief to crack a dragon or hoarding-joke here and there.
    - Radic: Also a character that started out a bit more boring, but then quickly grew interesting as her flaws became more apparent, especially in her relationship towards Janine and Matt. In the dating scene with Matt, I couldn't believe how she could be so insensitive towards Matt about his climbing skills. At least she apologized properly. Adorable Remus is adorable.
    - Janine: Wow, I hated her at first for being so pointlessly over-the-top fanservice ... and then I hated myself for not considering that she might be bipolar. I definitely should have seen that coming. Now I feel like a terrible person. I just hope Lloyd learned his lesson now that he eavesdropped on her conversation with Radic. She really deserves a hug.
    - Serrin: My favorite so far. She is the upbeat happy-go-lucky character that I was expecting Janine to be. And her family is just awesome! I hope she doesn't end up being a tormented soul aswell, because I think you absolutely hit the sweet spot between sugar-coated comedic relief and seriousness on her already (her surprise-lecturing sessions are awesome!)...
However, you have to accept me cracking a bad pun on how the cat familiar feels ... familiar. ;)

I meant to say this long ago, but vet school stuff got me distracted. I did want to say, thank you Zwiebelchen. Your comment was an absolute joy to read, and in fact I've read it several times. It puts a smile on my face every time. You'll all be happy to know that I'm working on a comic, although I haven't had too much chance to work on it lately because I'm starting vet school tomorrow! Wish me luck!

And your suggestions are really good ones. I'll keep them in mind.

Thank you all so much, and I'll do my best to keep things going, even if I can't pick the pace like before.

I don't know if this will hold true for you, but personally I found that as I progressed in physical therapy school, the classes actually got easier once you had all the base knowledge they give you in first year. So hey, here's hoping things will lighten up enough for you to do your hobbies again!

Oh I certainly hope so. I barely even have time to read anymore. The newest update is sitting in my computer about a quarter to a third done but I just don't have the time to work on it. And then comes the guilt spiral.

So Coffee, are you familiar with Warhammer Fantasy? Well, ever wonder how would Murphy's Law be like if they were Warhammer Fantasy characters?
    Like
    - Due to WHFRP's underdog who would most likely die, the team might be problematic (entire party would go insane by Serrin alone due to WH's magic being unstable, Radic's magic would be problematic depends if Elves have taught humans how to use magic safely, Llyod would be professional soldier at best and poorly equipped militia-man at worst, Tinder would not be since WHFRP is more of average joes than ultimate heroes, and Matt would be a pickpocket).
    - If going by Warhammer Fantasy generic universe; Serrin would be high elf and arrogant, Radic would be Amber Wizard, Llyod would be Sigmarite Warrior-Priest, Matt would be Dogs-of-War mercenary, Tinder...ummm, we'll go with Lizardman, and Janine would be Light Wizard. Also all the "nice-but-called-as-Evil" races are actually evil and good guys are much morally better than WH40k but have black comedic quirks (corrupt nobles of Empire, dwarves' obsession with grudges, and Elves' arrogance).
