Turn reverted: a player leaving the game when it's their turn does not advance the turn order correctly, apparently.

GPuzzle, are you really going to play this game? 25 skipped turns, including the last five in a row, when we're only in the mid-80s is not a good sign.

Ah yes, religions. I should probably do an update on my next turn as I've got a bit to cover there (since, as is becoming tradition for, I've gone and named a religion after a fictional one). Including the results of forgetting to play a turn myself while I had a settler out...

Yeah. They're not the most helpful at city placement either.

Anyway, GPuzzle apparently hasn't visited the forums since early March, so I'm just setting it to kick him from the game after his next turn comes around. Although now Ilven's in, it balances out again.

    - "Oh most stern and able Master Builder, who resides above in the great building without flaw, look down upon your humble servants as we endeavour to serve you and uphold your ideals."

With those words was the final stone placed of the Hagia Sophia - the new central church of the Hammerite order. It is only fitting that a such a structure be placed within the walls of Gao, the greatest monument to The Builder and His works.

But now one work is done, new foundations must be laid. It is without question that of the various tribes that only we, The Songhai, are capable of bring these lands into order. The lesser cities lack purpose; their lands are menaced by Pagan barbarians. The trial the Builder has set before us is clear: we must bring the hammer to the all corners of the world, to smite all heretics who would defile His creations and to fortify civilisation for the virtuous.

Hello. Been a while, hasn't it?
Here's how The Songhai lands are looking at present

For anyone wondering about the placement of Tombuctu, please refer to an earlier comment I made about leaving settlers out when you skip a turn.

The other noticeable thing is that I have yet to encounter any of the other players. The reason for this can probably be determined just by looking at the world map: as it's becoming apparent that I'm not only alone on a chain of islands, but that this chain might well be an ocean away from wherever anyone else is.

So yeah, could be a while before anything particularly interesting happens.

Yeah, this game was kinda on the back burner for a long time. Let's try to fix that now that it's got a better pace going.

    WARSAW!

Growing quite nicely, lots of food, lots of production. Just started Chichen Itza, and it should only take 6 turns. Hopefully I can poach it.

    KRAKOW!

Hasn't seen as much attention, as the AI kept messing up where my workers were going when I had to miss a turn or two, but that's getting fixed now.

    LODZ!

Likewise, should grow quite nicely, but hadn't seen as much attention until now.

    NEXT CITY!

Yeah, about to settle a new city right there. Then there will be one more to its south, and then that'll be it for cities.

    CULTURE!

Yup, going for cultural victory. With so many of the other civs right beside me, this should be very interesting.

    RELIGION!

Fractalism is a good all around religion. Gives me money, gives me faith, spreads far, and Cathedrals for great works. Solid.

So it's past turn 100. Now it's time to evaluate my position for the mid-game.

I think I'm in a decent place right now. I have a good capital, good two more cities, and an okay-ish one. Right now, my priority is to catch up on Science to the tech lead, and try to find Askia.

I'm somewhat wary of getting DoW'd by the Aztec, but their UU is no longer useful, so if he does he'll be picking on a better military force then he himself has right now.
