Well, this is... generous. I rather expected to roll a few move silently checks, but no complaining. Let's go cause some surprise!

Anthony's starting in AR52AS53. Writing IC.

Yeah I rolled some earlier and the toad was the only thing even lose to being aware. With the distance penalties applied it was out of luck too.

That area is quite a bit bigger than I was expecting - the original map had tents at roughly 10' X 10'; this one has them at 20' X 20'. Okay, I'll put the illusory fog bank in AQ43-AR56, anyone wanting to use it for hiding needs to be in those squares; Temiryl will hide at AR64.

You are totally right I have pooched the scale (I think - hard to tell on my phone). Let me fix it so it's half as big.

The scale is definitely off - you said in the original map post that the dry area was roughly 150' wide; the current scale has it at about 340' wide.

Yeah the adventure as published had it at 2x but I figured that made no sense so halved it for a more enjoyable encounter. And then when I rushed to overlay the grid I had a lapse of attention. I'll post a new one in an hour or so once the "wifetop" is free :-)

Edit : and in my defense the published text has it at 1x scale in the text and 2x on the map, so it was confusing from the outset grrr

    Much better

The fog illusion will extend from X14 to Y27; Temiryl will be hiding at W32, planning to delay until William starts singing and then attack with longbow.

Speaking of longbows, does anyone mind if I make a retroactive claim to the MW mighty (Str +2) composite longbow the first toad rider was carrying? That extra 2 damage could make a big difference at this point in time.

upd: marked MW comp longbow (+2 Str bonus) as Taken by Temryl

Since this is another encounter, making new checks:
    Know (toad): (1d20+2)[19] => +2/+2
Know (rider): (1d20+10)[14] => +1/+1 (incl. collector of stories)

I'm okay with this. It just means you have less AP for my save-or-die's later on . So Krag and Anthony can both act now, then toadie.

(and for future initiative rolls I could also by default add an AP for any of you who want this as a standard practice)

I'm pretty sure that DrK is around but juggling some extra work obligations right now. I think it's safe for the rest of you to bot Krag to keep things moving (if you want to).

Oh, crit... that's probably of no consequence unless the toad had enough by then and Thunder is a smart enough horse to recognize that. Which I, honestly, doubt. Anyway, here it goes:

Hoof confirm: (1d20+10)[24] for [roll] 1d6+4[/roll] bludgeoning cold iron

This does not seem like it should hit if Anthony did not resort to shield bashing. As per the sheet (auto-transferred), AC is 10 base + 5 armor + 2 shield + 2 dex + 2 potion = 21 total. With an auto-passed ride check for extra +4 from cover it would be a total of 25 (with usual downsides of no AoOs until the next round and move action get back in normal position next round).

There are certain interpretation that with certain sequence of activation of inspirations and/or with multiple bards allow for quite some stacking. The effects are rather profound.

Thanks for keeping the DM honest . This is what happens when I try to rush a post - I confess I simply assumed a 25 would be an easy hit at these levels. I will make a point of checking in the future since you have such a high potentially AC!

Gotta admit, I was expecting one or two dozen backup hobgoblins to come swarming out of those tents. That's why I brought out the big guns. If we don't see more, yeah, no sense blowing magic on empty space.

In the interests of a swift end to the one-sided combat I'll make a call to use an Action Point on Krag's attack:

    Krag AP (1d6)[2]

With the hobgoblin also entangled, that will be a hit and a kill . An overwhelming victory!

Anthony just takes MW composite longbow (+2 str bonus) and 30 cold iron arrows, then follows the party. Should not be much behind William (who sill sings and is easy to find?).
