I'm having a problem with loading the current save. Every time I enter in my password, it loads for a second, freezes, and crashes. Anyone know why this might be?

Try reverting, and sending the turn again?

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
Did you manage to get the de-bloat mod working? You have to combine it with another mod to allow it to load hot seat games. Also, everyone please remember to close Civ completely before taking your turn. Apparently is this the main cause of savefile-bloating and the related crashes.

This one: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil.../?id=267554865, which seems different from the one you've already tried. Note that you another mod (Custom Advanced Setup Screen https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...s/?id=75500984) to be able to load hot seat save files with that mod and fix the files.

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
We might need someone with a more powerful system to de-bloat the save file, since it's apparently too messed up for your PC to handle. You can upload it to dropbox and pass a link to me, or you can just skip and see if it works next time.

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
How do I revert the turn all the way back to you? Or do you need to do it? Also, how does a file get bloated? What exactly happened and what does that mean?

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
I don't know if I can revert all the way back myself, or whether we need to cooperate on it. In either case, we should probably get ok's from the other players first.
Save file bloating happens due to a bug in Civilization and it means that loading the save gets bloated for some reason (file size is a good indicator of when this is happening) and gets progressively harder and more demanding of the game to load, until it eventually results in crashes once the file is too bloated. The issue mainly occurs if you have saved previously in the same session - for that reason, everyone should always restart Civilization completely before each of their GMR turns.

I have sent you a PM with my email. Otherwise you can put it in a dropbox (you should be able to create an account for free if you don't have one already) which will let you post a link to the file here.

Spoiler: Bonus spectator update
Operation Ship of the line continues to advance at a brisk pace.
Having finished Engineering, we start on Metalcasting.
India enters the Renaissance era.
We make the writer write until he keels over.
Symbol of pain continues to starve.
And we manage to meet Poland.
Approx 2 turns to go.
Jozan's defense force reports no problems.
As does Pelors.
And we use scout missionary.
Symbol of pains defense force is the best.
Maps of Pelor the burning hate.
Maps of Jozan.
Symbol of hate.
Dawnbreaker.
Our policies.
Best in Population, Crop yield, GNP, and Soldiers. Worst in nothing.
The English intelligence agency.

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
It is with the deepest sorrow in our hearts, that the English empire reports fleets of Impi's were caught trying to sail towards English coastline. The amount of Impi's can only mean an intent to declare war from the Zuluian people.
Thus, we have no choice, but to show the robotic overlords that have taken command of the Zuluian people, why you do not screw around with an English navy.
Zuluian cities that comply with English laws, will be left unharmed. All others will be dealt with as enemies to the empire.
Spoiler: Poland;Narkis
The Zuluian invasion force response canceled our lux trade with them.
We notice you had spare wine, would you be willing to trade if for spare gold?
Spoiler: Spectator war update
Now hopefully that lie keeps them out of my hair for a little while. Long enough to take the Zulu's capital at least.
The first English war was said to start in 1200 AD. After workshops began to be built in the most holy city.
As our people finished this strange wondrous new bow, we started to abide by higher rules of laws in combat.
Zurich fears the coming flames. But they will not be seared by the holy light. At least not yet.
Symbol of pain continues to fast.
Our Caraval scouts out Polish lands.
Welp.
Let's get this party started!
Oh well. Time to trade with Poland.
As the Ships of the line start to descend on their prey.
Wave after wave of divine fire burst forth from the ship's cannons, striking down the Zuluian enemies where they stood.
The Burning hate will offer no mercy to enemies of the Empire.
They descend on their prey like holy sharks.
As screw it. Zutara tries to get the Best ship in the fleet award, raiding a merchant ship, and blasting apart an Impi.
At home, all is peaceful in Jozan.
As a slave band starts to work on iron, for the defense fleet.
Dawnbreaker is quiet as well.
This worker mines a normal hill.
Symbol of Pain watches out for a Zulu scout.
We will upgrade. To Longbows. One day... But perhaps someone seeing Comp.Bows will try to attack us. And fall into our trap.
Our great person waits.
Our cargoship relocates.
Our Trireme continues to move home.
We might ask if he wants our faith.
Poland. Accept our trade.

Spoiler: Dada; India
Would you want us to spread the word of the Burning hate to try and remove Russia's religion?
Spoiler: Spectator update
The pain of our invasion spurs Zuluian scientist to new heights.
Although it is too late to save them, it just proves our words true. All men must suffer.
Poland accepts our offer.
And makes one of their own.
We... grudgingly accept.
Poland reforms their religions.
And Gwen? rigs elections for us.
The Celts open borders treaty ends.
Symbol of pain continues to starve.
And Dawnbreaker loves Pelor!
Operation Longbow trap is still not yet sprung.
The Cargo ship brings food to the capital.
Our Trireme continues to return home.
Our ships of the line continue to blast Impi's
And cities.
And Crossbows.
And wait for the Caraval.
And Civilians. (What they need xp!)
And scout the world.
Nikloas waits.
Our last work boat is deployed into the water.
Really need to ask about this.
Our capital works on a harbor.
And Symbol of pain works on a Colosseum.
And Dawnbreaker can have a farm.

Can we haz open borders again? My trireme wants to come home.
It's so cold and lonely.
Spoiler: Spectator war update
Having finished Chivalry. Even if the Burning hate refuses to practice it, we start to research banking to fund the holy war.
Russia no longer wishes to protect Bogota.
Because they wish to protect Yerevan.
Genoa would have us make a Great admiral to lead our navy to glory.
Symbol of pain continues it's foreverfast.
Our Caravel's continue to scout the western sea.
And discover Mt. Kalish.
.... We need open borders.
We decide to enact operation Don't dare mess with our conquests.
Sir Pikemen the pikest, sits and waits.
The Burning hate fails to take hold.
Shoot, shoot, shoot civilians for xp!
Wait, wait, wait for the cities health to come down enough!

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
Welp. The game decided now was a time to spam me with yet another useless great prophet. And whenever the game spams a great prophet at me, I can't load it. So I'm gonna have to skip this turn. And I finally got another culture policy too. Fingers crossed the AI picks the right policy. I'll settle any deals next turn.
