Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
Well, my preference is seeing the units move and shoot. Would anyone else care if I recommend those settings reverted to not be quick actions?

"After a few years, the small village of Dublin has finally been set up near the river and the sea."
Spoiler: To Spectators
Dublin's been founded, and if I hadn't gotten a pantheon so fast, I'd gone for Earth Mother in a whim.
Still, God-King can help a bit with the early game.

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
So, I'm currently having trouble submitting my turn. Could you delay the turn skip a bit until I can succeed in successfully submitting my turn?

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
Mainly, spares and bad internet. I'm on a river cruise up the Danube River and we're currently going through the Romanian, Bulgarian, Serbian area and there is a lot of rural areas with low cellular service. The wifi is pretty bad and GMR aborts the upload part way through uploading (It must have a timer). So, I'm trying to submit my turn every time we go through a town with the hope that the wifi will get better in those areas. I have my turn done, I just need to submit it!

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
I finally managed to submit my turn! After attempting to submit multiple times every day! Turns out Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Croatia don't give enough cell service to successfully submit my turn. Had to get to Hungary in order to do it. Anyways, turn submitted. Thank you all for being patient with me.

No worries. Real life happens to the best of us. Hopefully you won't have more problems.
And enjoy the cruise.Last edited by Maryring; 2014-11-01 at 05:58 AM.

Well, we just sailed away from Mohacs, Hungary. So, I'm around that area right now.

Can we get the turn timer back on, or poke Techwarrior or something? It's been five days now...

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
My apologies to everyone.
I've been offline for a... while now. I can get online at other people's houses for things like posting here, but I haven't been able to get my computer online to use GMR/Civ. I'd hate to continue to hold everyone back. As soon as I get my internet fixed (which I don't currently have an estimate) I can start taking turns again, but I guess for now I should be AI'ed.Avatar courtesy of Ceika.

Is the leader or host of this game able to put techwarrior into vacation mode?

No, that is something Techwarrior has to do at account level. I have re-added the turn timer of 48 hours however, which should help things slightly.

I'll take care of the vacation mode thing. (I wasn't aware that was an option)

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
From the GMR facebook page, emphasis mine:
"As many of you have noticed GMR is completely down! Our web server has experienced a rare double-disk failure and we'll need to rebuild everything from scratch. We do have off-site backups of the database and save files that we'll be restoring, unfortunately they're almost two months old. We're terribly sorry for the inconvenience and how much this will set your games back!
We're working hard getting everything back up and hope to have things restored by tonight or tomorrow. Thank you all for your patience!"

Well, I know I've got archived copies of all the recent turns I've taken, so can those, or someone elses' be used to re-upload once the service is back?Board-game and XCOM nerd. Furry. Handle with care.

Re: Civ 5: GMR 8 - A Beyond Earth Prequel (G&K, BNW)
Secondary backups from the way I read it, which explains why they're two months old. Painful to hear that happened though.
