Pleather, as in fake plastic leather. Sort of like the stuff you get on fake binders etc.

I'm guessing pleather is there to emphasize lack of taste and desire for the material's removal would make sense.

It sounds like Varsuvius might be convinced of Durkula's evilness. (S)he's taken a much more passive stance in decisions, which both explains why she doesn't believe belkar and shows some amount of character growth on her/his part. I've been liking how V's character has evolved over this last plot arc and this is another great strip of that.

I'm not sure telling the undead monstrosity that you're on to it is such a great idea: a better plan of action would have been stealing and throwing off board his staff before he could research the Protection from Sun spell.

Belkar does know about the spell in the staff, right?

Very interesting since it nice to see Belkar get a weapon upgrade. But of course it makes sense that it still won't be enough to stop Durkula. Which means he will need to think up a new plan in convincing everyone that he bad news in the long run.

Unless Belkar stabbed him twice, the cut Belkar gave to the HPoH seems to be on the wrong side of his head in the 10th panel.

My first thought was that he imagined it, but on the other hand there are no special graphical cues. Since Varsuvius has turned back to her desk in the last panel (meaning time has passed), and Belkar seems to be walking in (rather than standing in thought) I guess it is real.

On the other hand, he is not dripping in either of the last two panels, suggesting he has not actually fallen in the sea. So I don't know.

Also, Mr. Scruffy is eating food here, does this mean this is Belkar's room and V and Belkar are roomies? Because that would be hilariously disastrous earlier in the comic but based on their interactions in this strip and their respective character development it kinda makes sense.

I know almost certainly that it doesn't do anything by the written rules of DnD, but vampires also don't really work like this is DnD, so...
