Questo progetto è mirato alla creazione di un rifacimento nella lingua di Dante dei testi del fumetto in rete di Rich Burlew che riesca quanto più a coglierne e riprodurne lo spirito sotto ogni aspetto. La formattazione seguirà il modello di TheWombatOfDoom. Chiunque voglia contribuire è ben accetto.

Glossario
Old post:
I'm opening a thread for the Order of the Stick's unofficial Italian translation, since we don't have one yet.
Here are some provvisory guidelines for myself to follow:
- I'm following TheWombatOfDoom's transcription format (see here).
- Phrase Vaarsuvius's speech in a way that doesn't specify V's gender. But other characters can still use a gender based on their own subjective perception of V.
- In order to render Durkon's Scottish accent, we can give him a dialectal or foreign accent, but any help from a person with actual dialect knowledge would be very appreciated here. Here is an approximate scheme for german accent caricature:
Spoilercc (chiusa) -> c
g (chiusa) -> c (chiusa)
qu + voc -> kv
s (sono, casa) -> z; davanti a p, t -> sh; ss -> s
v -> f
parola che termina in -e a fine frase -> -en
gli -> li - Make the dialogues as smooth and natural as I can, while also preserving or adapting jokes and puns.
- Adapt sound effects when needed.
- Proper names with an explicit meaning in English (which represent the common tongue), like "Greenhilt", can and should be translated.
- Keep the swearing at a moderate level, like in English.
- I prefer not to put a capital letter at the start of every word in the title, so I'll write "Nuova edizione" and not "Nuova Edizione".
So, here are some translations:

Belkar: Ma...

Roy: Starai scherzando.
Vaarsuvius: Affatto.

Belkar: Dove diavolo eri?
Elan: Ehmm... da nessuna parte.
Darkon: <sussurro> Shhhh!
Roy: <sussurro> Quanti sono?
Haley: <sussurro> Dodici... anzi, tredici.
Goblin 1: Shuk da yub-yub!
Gobin 2: Gruuta!
Vaarsuvius: <sussurro> Messer Elsaverde, ritengo di avere un'incantesimo che possa essere d'aiuto.
Roy: <sussurro> Mi sta bene.
Haley: Ottimo lavoro, Vaarsuvius! La tua magia ha addormentato i goblin!
<sfx> Zzzzzz.
Vaarsuvius: Ma... Ma... Non ho ancora lanciato nessuna magia.
<sfx> Zzzzzz.
Spoiler: Striscia 11Divergenze di allineamento
Roy, Darkon, Vaarsuvius, Elan, Belkar, Haley, Chierico Goblin
Elan: *AUU*
Roy: Colpo di Grazia! Colpo di Grazia!
Darkon: Oh-oh...
Chierico Goblin: Miserabili buonisti!
Roy: Pare che a qualcuno sia riuscita la Salvezza sulla Volontà...
Vaarsuvius: Ma io non ho lanciato NULLA!
Chierico Goblin: Ed ora tocca a voi! INFLUSSO SACRILEGO!
Haley: Non riesco a pensare...
Elan: Non riesco a muovermi...
Vaarsuvius: Schiacciati dal Male assoluto...
Roy: Odio i mostri... con livelli di classe...
Chierico Goblin: Ah! Voi sciocchi puri di cuore non potere reggere il potere del Male!
Belkar: Ehi, che succede?
Chierico Goblin: INFLUSSO SACRILEGO!
<sfx> Pum!
Elan: Ehi, perchè Belkar non ha-
Roy: Meglio non pensarci.
Belkar: Mi prendo l'amuleto.
Spoiler: Striscia 12Su di livello, giù di livello
Roy, Haley, Vaarsuvius, Belkar
Roy: <pensiero> Finalmente, le scale in giù!
Haley: <pensiero> Uuh, quel chierico goblin valeva 1000 PE!
Roy: È ora di scendere di livello!
Haley: È ora di salire di livello!
Roy: Salire? Ma l'abbiamo già fatto.
Haley: Certo, e ora lo rifacciamo.
Roy: Perchè, cosa c'è nel livello superiore?
Haley: Più agguati!
Roy: Cosa?? Al livello di sopra ci aspettano degli agguati??
Haley: No, sciocchino, sono solo per me.
Roy: No, abbiamo già finito quel livello. Dovremmo scendere.
Haley: Su!
Roy: Giù!
Haley: Su!
Roy: Giù!
Vaarsuvius: Haha! Un nuovo livello di magia!
Roy: Dove?
Vaarsuvius: Eh?
Roy: Ho chiesto dov'è questo livello.
Vaarsuvius: Ma sei un guerriero, non puoi accedere ai livelli di magia.
Roy: Non posso? È un'altra battutina sull'ottusità dei Guerrieri? Basta così, ora si scende di livello.
Haley: No, saliamo!
Vaarsuvius: Ma se scendiamo di livello, perderò il mio livello di magia.
Roy: DOVE LO VEDI 'STO LIVELLO?
Vaarsuvius: COSA???
Belkar: Quanto casino dobbiamo passare ogni volta solo perchè nessuno a TSR ha guardato "livello" sul tesauro?
Spoiler: Striscia 13Ehilà trama!
Haley, Roy, Belkar, Elan, Darkon
Roy: Le scale in giù! Siamo un passo più vicini alla meta!
Haley: Perchè non hai detto subito che volevi scendere?
Belkar: Abbiamo una meta?
Roy: Certo. Secondo te che siamo venuti a fare?
Belkar: Beh, immaginavo che volessimo gironzolare qua e la, accoppare qualche creatura senziente perchè loro hanno pelle verde e zanne e noi no, e poi fregargli la roba. Che c'è?
Elan: Certo che abbiamo una meta, Belkar. Fammi raccontare...
Roy: Oh no, ecco che inizia...
<cutaway>
Elan: <fuori campo> Siamo in missione nelle oscure e profonde Segrete di Dorukan, un orribile abisso pieno zeppo di mostri malvagi.
Haley: <fuori campo> E tesori!
Elan: <fuori campo> Creati dal folle lich Xykon, un mago non morto pazzo per il potere. Uuu, licio cattivo!
Haley: <fuori campo> E tesori!
Elan: <fuori campo> Ma distruggeremo lo Xykon e riporteremo la quiete nel paese!
<sfx> Cric crac!
Haley: <fuori campo> E tesori! Aspetta, qui non ha senso...
<cutback>
Belkar: Questi "tesori” mi intrigano: dimmi di più.
Darkon: Com'hai fatto, giovine, coll'immagini?
(D): Come hai fatto, giovane, colle immagini?
Elan: La mia ultima magia da bardo: Invoca Esposizione di Trama!

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation
I have no idea about Italian language and not any way to help.
Just wanted to offer my encouragement and support to you. It's quite a monumental project you're undertaking and I wish you the best of luck with itAdrie, half elven bard. Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
I'll write both in Italian and in English for this reply, as I am a professional translator and this deals exactly with my field of expertise.
For everyone else: just don't mind this post, we're talking about an Italian translation of OOTS.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
Come avresti fatto a trovare copie tradotte negli anni '90?
Translation of Italian Hippy's post:
Spoiler
"Ordine dello Stecchino" is the first in a very long sequence of errors. I've bought all books with the Kickstarter campaign, and it is explained why it's called "Order of the Stick". It's a pun based on Roy finding a stick on the ground and choosing to name his party "Order of the Stick", also the comics are made with Stick Figures (Omini Stecchini, in Italian, but it doesn't give off the concept).
In addition, an Italian translation of the comic EXISTED (or better, used to). Evidently it wasn't selling enough to justify the payment of a professional translator, and it went up into oblivion. I remember seeing the translated version of the first Book in a Comic store in Bologna, but we were in the nineties.
I contacted Rich personally to propose him a translation of the book, but I got a negative answer (also because I wanted money to make it, for me it's a job, as well as a passion).
If you want, I can act as a translator or (better) proofreader for the strips. One thing I ask thought is for my word to be the last. I have an immoderate trust in my capabilities. I can do this job, and I can do it very well. It's almost 15 years that I do it, and my specialty is exactly RPGs. You can see my name in the credits of Golden Sun 3 for the Nintendo Ds.
If we want to make this happen, we can make it and we can make it well. You can contact me at the address Milano Ancona Domodossola Roma Imola K Empoli Roma at gmail dot com.
The translation of the first strip is dignifiedly made, but it contains so many errors it makes me shiver.
Translation of my answer:
SpoilerThanks for the offer, but I'm not planning to make an official translation: I purposedly wrote "fan translation" in the title.
I'd appreciate very much any help or evaluation you would give me, but I'm no professional translator - actually, I'm no translator at all.
As far as I recall, Rich Burlew allowed for a short time the hosting of translated strips on this site before they before they were removed due to quality problems, but for the time being all translation projects are on halt and he only accepts transcription. So I think it's strange that he allowed the translation of his books.
Then, excuse me, but didn't the OOTS start in 2003? How could you have ever found translated copies in the nineties?

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
Sono abbastanza sicuro che al momento non sia permesso fare traduzioni.... Bisognerebbe chiedere prima di iniziare un lavoro che potrebbe poi venire bloccato.
A parte questo, Durkon dovrebbe parlare in piemontese o in lombardo (non stretti), per analogia con la scozia e con il fatto che i nani sono "nordici".
E penso che sarà un casino con i millemila giochi di parole intraducibili, ho paura di una traduzione del Dashing Swordman
Eh, che dialet?
However, I thought that translation were forbidden.... we shoudl ask the Giant before we start a work that could be blocked.
Said that, I think Durkoun should speak in northen dialect like piemontese or lombardo, because dwarf are "northen".
And I'm afraid of the translation of some puns, like the Dashing Swordman ones

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
The FAQs read:
Q: I speak a language other than English. Can I translate the Order of the Stick for my game site?
A: At this time, the translation program is on indefinite hold. Some of the existing translations apparently suffered from accuracy issues, and all suffered from a lack of support from the translator, most of whom faded away after translating only a fraction of the strip's run. Also, there was no promotion or advertisement by the translators in their native language, resulting in a great deal of work for very, very few hits. Please do not contact me regarding translating OOTS into your native language until such time as I decide whether to continue the translation program.
Then there's this post from the Giant: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/shows...11&postcount=8
Per riassumere, non vuole traduzioni ufficiali in linguaggi che non parla, non potendone verificare la qualità.
Ma possiamo comunque mettere trascrizioni tradotte, basta non toccare i fumetti.
Un dialetto settentrionale qualsiasi andrebbe bene. Sapresti far parlare Durkon con uno di essi?
Già, tradurre i giochi di parole di Elan sarà un lavoraccio, ma a chi non piacciono le sfide?
To resume, he doesn't want official translations because he can't verify quality of languages that he doesn't speak.
But we can still write translated transcription, just don't touch the comics.
Any northern dialect would work well. Can you make Durkon speak in one of them?
Yeah, translating Elan's puns will be very hard, but who doesn't like challenges?Last edited by Apani; 2014-09-12 at 06:47 AM.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
tl:dr I don't think it's a great idea. Not worth the time investment and, as an amateur translation, it would lose a lot in quality.
Just my two cents.
Un LOL a Durkon toscano.Last edited by Gandariel; 2014-09-12 at 07:46 AM.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
You got some very good objections right there, in fact I'm planning to do this just as a pastime for my own amusement, as I don't expect to achieve much.
It's fully legal, thought: The Giant said that he's fine with text-only fan-traslations. Publishing translated strips or books, thought, that is unallowed for the time being due to unverified quality.Last edited by Apani; 2014-09-12 at 07:58 AM.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread

- Ho cambiato qualche esclamazione e altri dettagli. Penso che il "weapon shrinkage" sia da tradurre come qualcosa dell'ambito medico.

Questa questione della traduzione anni '90 mi intriga (ma sei certo di non starti confondendo? D&D 3.0 è uscito nel 2000, credo).
Spoiler: Google-aided and quickly corrected translation for modding purposesHello, I write directly in Italian, so I think that those involved in the translation are all able to understand
So, I like the idea. Maybe not worth the effort, but, after all, write in this forum does not do anything in monetary terms. We are fans and we like to have something to do with the work that we love, and it is a way to translate it as another.
I am a linguist, I'm not a translator.
About Durkon: his accent should be protected, I think that the problem is that, in Italy, we have both accents dialects. For example, I think it is not difficult to understand when you are talking with a man from Brescia or Bergamo, even if he speaks in Italian. The problem is the transcript of accent. Italian normally does not show the difference between è and é, or vowel length. You can play it instead on the presence of the consonants (too many doubles -> South Central, too few double -> North). On the other hand, there are dialects, which are relatively easy to transcribe, but are often too difficult to understand. Or you do one thing or the Trilussa Camilleri - a dialect already not too distinct from Italian standard, developed and eventually expanded - or you have him speak Italian mixed with elements of dialect, as one who has always spoken dialect and that, for reasons of employment or service, is forced to speak in Italian.
There's to choose the language that mixes with Italian. I do not know why, but I always thought that the Sardinian, because of his extremely conservative character, is a bit of Italy's dwarven. If you want to the north, the eastern Lombardy, the Veneto and Piedmont seem quite suitable. Otherwise Calabria, is a mountainous and relatively isolated region. I find the idea of the Tuscan interesting per se, but in Italy Tuscan enjoys a certain prestige, which, it seems, durconian lacks.
Apart from this, Durkon you might as well just get a nice German accent . Bolzano is the northernmost province of Italy, and a Tyrolean dwarf does not seem too unbelievable.
If I can help, I do it willingly.
I did a review of the ones you've posted, you can have a look:

Thanks for the post, Vinyadan. I applied some of your changes to my version.
I think too that the choice of Tuscan accent for Durkon is not the best one available, I just used that one because it's the only one I'm familiar with. If you can render his accent with more appropriate dialect, whathever you choose, I'll leave it to you.
About the revisions, here are my replies:
-Personally speaking, "Plop!" makes me think of poo falling in the WC, not something appearing.
-I don't think V using the passive seems intellectual, more like needlessly complicated (unless that is the intended effect). The Ritengo + Conjunctive seems elegant while also natural and fluid to me.
-I think it's funnier for Durkon to have search issues despite saying the whole first word, but I'm not certain if those are actual cleric spells.Last edited by Apani; 2014-09-12 at 12:36 PM.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
On second thought, I have to agree about the PLOP sfx
One accent I could use is the one from Brescia, the other would be ye olde German accent (a la Sturmtruppen). Let's see how feasible they are. I can look for a strip where Durkon talks a bit and try them out, and then we can try and reach a consensus. If there were any Sardinian speaker, I would gladly leave the task to him.
Anyway, here are some proposals for the translatable names. I hope there also are other ideas.
Roy Elsaverde
Haley Lucedistelle (argh)
Belkar Fogliamara /Asprafoglia /Fogliacre / Fogliaspra (Bitter leaf is an edible plant. Radicchio? Cicoria? Cicoriaceo?) (Halfling=Mezzuomo?)
Elan il Bardo
Mantorosso, or Manto Rosso
Durkon Scudotonante / Tronscudo
Argent could be called Silver in Italian.

Gerard Dentedidrago
Serini Toorfango
Banjo il Clown/Pagliaccio

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
It is obvious that the common name should be translated, because in english they are commons names, and in Italian they would come personal names. This is a theory of a Tolkien's translator, who made Rivendell "Gran Burrone", to make different name in common (overstron?) from name in Quenya.
So Redcloak must be translated. Nero Lee etc should be translated to preserve meaning (and Lawfull Evil is Legale Malvagio, not "rigoroso" :P) if able. Azure City should be translated, Clyffport doesn't. Belkar Bitterleaf should stay Belkar Bitterleaf... at maximum, Little Death's Helper become "Piccolo aiutante della Morte" as the Simpson's dog.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
I know they should be translated - I was just kidding. The LotR model is a good example of how much is possible to translate.
But why should we not translate Cliffport or Bitterleaf? We can assume Belkar is a Halfling-language name, so it can stay like that, but Bitterleaf has a very clear meaning in English (which exists to represent common tongue, and should be fully replaced by Italian when it doesn't carry cultural connotations).
Cliffport is called like that because it is a portual city on a cliff (see this), which in italian is called "Falesia". So "Porto Falesia" seems a very valid translation. We already have cities named like "Porto Santo Stefano" in real life, so this name sounds pretty natural.
For the IFCC, you can't make names with the initials M+L/R/N/C. So it is better to use the first syllabs: Ma Le Ri Ne Ca.
Also: a Legale Malvagio is a lawyer which is evil, not an evil person strictly abiding to a set of rules.
(We really should use this joke for when the lawyer couple shows up)Last edited by Apani; 2014-09-12 at 04:00 PM.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
Sorry, I can't really answer that. I'm a big fan of "erring on the side of caution", so in this case I would only use Italian where it is absolutely needed: For the translation itself. (Obviously also for translation possibilities. It should imo be at least be possible to discuss whether "Phrase A" is better than "Phrase B" without violating the rules.)
But the only one that can give you an answer are the mods itself, so to be safe you could PM a mod in charge for this subforum or the Board/Site Issues subforum, though I think from the last time it came up the answer is probably not what you would prefer:
(This was the question to a non-English PbP-game. The rules for fan translation - since those are allowed - might not be as strict as this sounds.)
You could check some other translation threads (best found through the link to the transcript in the OP) - I did a really quick scan of the first few posts of those, and I had the feeling I could easily follow what is going on. In this thread there are just some posts I have no clue what is going on.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
A'ight, sorry if I broke any rules. The only excuse I have is that I wasn't aware of them in the first place, although I know ignorance of a rule does not give me a right to break it. I hope my infraction will be tolerated, but I'm ready to face any consequence if it's not. I am, after all, Lawful Good in real life :)
As for the project: I think that it's possible. Hard, but possible. What my post meant is that I'd be willing to help, but only if I'm given the project lead and the last word on every issue. I am, after all, a professional translator. I am not unreasonable, and I recognize a good idea when I see one. My only problem is with incompetence and inaccuracy. I demand no less than absolute perfection from every work which carries my name.
Moving on to actual issues:
- I think Durkon might be translated with a German accent. After all, who're the beer drinkers? I've lived in Germany myself for several years, so I can attest personally to their Lawfulness. It won't be the prettiest thing, but it could work.
- "Porto Falesia"? Where does THAT come from? I don't think it would be an accurate translation, but I'm curious how that idea came to mind.
- Erring on the side of caution, I would try to be as conservative as we can with the names. Translating "Serini Toormuck" or "Blackwing" into Italian could work against us, especially since we don't know the whole master plan behind the story, yet, since it's not been finished.
- Elan's Dashing Swordsman would be pretty easy. Anyone here remembers Monkey Island, and especially how the game was rendered into our language? I already translated a lot of strips in my mind, and as a matter of fact I use OOTS as an exercise in my chosen career path. I never had a problem with Elan.
- Lastly, a project of this magnitude should be VERY WELL organized. We need a Lead Translator (which I believe should be me), guidelines (which we could agree on) and a Mailing List. Going into this blindly will spell failure. We'd get our arses kicked harder than Durokan's.
By the way, yes, I might be confused. It might have been 2001 when I saw the Italian version of the OOTS book. Bear with me, it's been a long time.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
I personally don't like translated names, but if I would translate names, "Blackwing" would be one of the easier choices to translate. If you translate "Greenhilt", "Redcloak" or "Draketooth" it makes no sense to me, not to translate "Blackwing". All of these are just the simple concatenation of English words. (On other names which have no English meaning, like Toormuck, I think it is better not to translate them.)
Seeing an Italian OootS in 2001 would be really amazing:
- To my knowledge, there is no Italian version of any OotS book. At least I haven't ever heard of non-English version, and even the Wikipedia article (both English and Italian) doesn't list one. (Though I don't speak Italian, so maybe it is somewhere. But the "Raccolte"-section only list the English books.)
- More importantly: finding any OotS publication in 2001 would be an astonishing find: The first strip went online 2003 and the first book was published in 2005

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
Alright, I will trust your experience.
Here are my replies:
-German Durkon sounds good, I agree.
-This is Cliffport: a portual city-state on a cliff. Cliff is generically a "Dirupo", but since it's on the sea I think the name "Falesia" comes closer.
-I get the feeling Rich wouldn't give some intricate hidden meaning to all names, so I'd feel pretty safe translating most of them (Leeky Windstaff, Thundershield, Starshine, et cetera). "Toormuck" looks like a nonsensical name to me.
-As ChristianSt says, I find it pretty strange that you found italian OOTS books.

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
A'ight, guys, my memory is hazy on the time, but I remember VERY clearly seeing an OOTS book printed in Italian in a comic books shop in Bologna. Maybe it wasn't authorized? I also remember Italian strips being published on the website itself, although I preferred reading the original ones.
I agree with ChristianSt, I don't like translated names as well. They could work, ("Durkon Scudodituono", "Roy Elsaverde", "Haley Lucedistella") but I don't think they'd bring any more on the table than the original ones.
Now, can we PLEASE resume saving the world? ;)

Re: L'Ordine dello Stecchino - Italian fan translation thread
There actually were italian strips on this site (it was, like, 2006), but they are long gone, due to quality issues. They're archived on the wayback machine.
Personally, I prefer to have names adapted and translated like with the LotR, since they exist mainly to give off a meaning without any cultural connotation.
I'm going to quote a French translator on this:

There is also a matter of sounds. For example, in italian tlotr Bilbo Baggins stays Bilbo Baggins. Some names are written in english to sound something, or to be familiar for the reader, some others are just names, and they should not say something, but they should sound good. If oots had been written by an italian author, he would have never used english name: Roy Greenhilt is an english name with a english 'meaning something' surname; Roy Elsaverde is an english name with an italian 'meaning something' surname; it isn't the same. So, not all names must be translated: someone should only be changed to sound more similar the original (like Took become "Tuc" in tlotr just to preserve sound).
In my taste, "Elsaverde" sound very worst then "Greenhilt". "Fogliamara" sound worst then "Bitterleaf"; maybe "Tuonoscudo" sounds as good as Thundershield or even better. Starshine in italian is very longer "lucedistella", maybe we should use something less litteral.
However, we can translate some english surname; Durkon Tuonoscudo sounds great. Maybe even some name, there is nothing wrong if Sabine becomes Sabina.

I think you should translate D&D words with the official translation: the "ranger" class is called "ranger" in italian, "spot" is "osservare" etc.
Did you choose "stecchino" instead of "bastoncino" just because it starts with an "S" like "Stick"?
About names you may consider the possibility to write them differently in order to be faithful to the original pronunciation
e.g. every italian will pronounce "elan" as written and not "EE-lin"Last edited by Red Bear; 2014-09-13 at 10:46 AM.

Yeah, I don't have a glossary so I just used my own translations. Isn't d&d no longer officially translated, anyways?
I picked "Stecchino" simply because that's how I'd define the characters' limbs.
On translating names, look at what I just found out: Frodo Baggins is just an English translation of the Hobbit's name in Westron, Maura Labingi. Maura is supposed to mean "Wise, experienced", which was rendered with German word "Frod-", and Labingi is supposed to the Westron word "Laban", which means Bag. In fact "Baggins" was transled in most languages to keep the sense of "Bag".
Guess Tolkien was a supporter of semantic anthroponym translation.

Tolkien's view and those of his translators didn't always match. As far as I remember, he opposed translating names of places, because, he said, it was like translating Firenze with Blooming and Como with How. I don't think we should try to follow one of these external standards, but just use the ones we feel are right in the right place. There aren't that many names, after all, and the geography is quite simple.
I do like the idea of writing the Italian pronunciation of names, however. There remains the little problem of Italian not giving semantic value to long and short vowels (they exist, but they don't matter).
So, these are mostly jokes, but they could be useful as experiment:
Ilin il Bardo
Eili Starscina (cognome declinato alla slava, con suo padre Ian Starschino )
Versuvius (so it's understandable that it's about Vesuvio and not Varsavia)
Pompeo
Darcon Tundoscildo
Roi Elsaverde (Se lo si vuole inglesizzare, Roy Elsaverd! A true superhero! Like Ferramenta New Fer!)
Belcar Bitaleffa
Zaicon
Nili
Sabin(a)
Tog
Ik-Ik
Zizditri
Ilghia Fiammelm
Durucon
Mantorosso - Manto Rosso
Occhio Destro (I think Grìnilt, Recclocco and Raitai are not OK as their meaning is important.)
Mr. Scruffo
Boscolegno
Lichi Ventasta.
In giving the names I followed the pronunciations given by the Giant, although mistakes on my part are likely. I changed Nale (Neil) to Nili, for it to sound opposite to Elan (Ilin). I attempted to limit the length of the names.
To Synesthesy: My tastes about the names are almost exactly opposite to yours. Nothing that can't be talked out
I agree about using the standard translation of D&D 3.5 rulebooks for D&D words, but I don't have them. I used "fregare" for bluff, because it sounded more colloquial. If anyone has them, then he can check out the translation.Originally Posted by J.R.R. Tolkien, 1955
