    Race is a Selonian, a humanoid mustelid (space weasel!), sable colored and standing about as tall as your average lanky human, less when he compacts himself, or a little more when he really stretches. He wears tough clothing that's less a style statement and a lot more 'this won't get destroyed by accidental engine discharge while I'm working!' While he technically doesn't NEED to wear clothes thanks to his short, thick fur covering everything that might be considered risqué, he does anyway since most folks in the galaxy are uncomfortable without them. And fur doesn't have POCKETS or POUCHES or BELTS or any of the other cool things clothes can do. Also he thinks it makes him look cool in a sort of 'engineering saboteur' way. It does not, but he maintains his delusion regardless of all evidence to the contrary.

    Known as a "Dravas," or Wanderer to his people, Race was given to the Jedi essentially as soon as his people realized what his abilities were. Given his proclivity for being absolutely anywhere other than where he should be, this took longer than expected. He was only a few years old when the Jedi came, but he knew enough already to know that his clan regarded this as something akin to a death sentence, and that pity and disgust followed him. Not only as a male and therefore considered useless until he reached breeding age, but because he would no longer serve the clan as was proper.

    Race maintains that this knowledge is NOT in fact always at the back of his mind souring his mood, but people that get to know him know better know this is not true. Being raised in the temples and praxeums of the Jedi has given him a far more cosmopolitan, egalitarian outlook on the galaxy though, and he's got plenty to distract him from old childhood hurts. Just about anything can get the Selonian excited if presented in the right way, though machines and computers have always held his highest fascination, and he can get lost for hours in them...literally, if they're large enough. He can compact quite a bit if he has to.

    Of course anyone that interrupts his delicate work runs afoul of his spitfire temper, but his nature means this peters out quickly. About as soon as he's spent his annoyance he's already wrapped up in something new, the "old" problem seemingly forgotten. It's not, of course, never is, but nobody ELSE wants to hear Race's sadly typical tendency to dive into intricate speeches on technical details, his opinions on prejudices against him and his people, or how annoyingly restrictive the Jedi code is.

    Which is of course why he wormed his way into the small group of Jedi Shadows and does as many seemingly illicit missions as he can! He gets to do all sorts of fun, dangerous, likely life-threatening things under the guise of keeping peace in the galaxy!

    Random thing I discovered: Violet has a spectrum closer to blue, while Purple has a spectrum closer to red! Despite this, violet flowers are actually fairly bright, and many 'purple' colors are actually darker than the purple color spectrum would imply.

    The only times she seems to truly feel at ease is on missions, surrounded by fellow warriors, soldiers, and scouts. This current reassignment is an attempt by her Masters to break this up.

    Character summary:
    A Jedi Neophyte burned by the death of his Master, he strives to shield the weak form the strong, injustice boils his blood, and inaction is something he cannot readily tolerate.

    Alor was inducted into the Academy because of his fierce spirit. The Jedi whisked him away from his rugged frontier plains world with the blessing of his parents, who felt he would do grand things within the order. While he showed little talent with using the Force externally, his body flowed with remarkable strength.

    The academy channeled this strength into helping the helpless, that those with strength have the responsibility and honor of caring for those who do not. Sometimes the fierceness of Alor's conviction would cause him to act rashly, and while he learned to control his temper he never could completely reconcile his passion for helping and the incessant injustice present throughout the galaxy.

    He was assigned to Master Errol Kynd for his padawan training at the dawn of the Clone Wars. Errol was ice to Alor's fire, but the heat of combat tinted the training given. There were so few quiet times to practice discipline and bring calm to ones self that combat became Alor's focus. He didn't see much outside of it, and since his force capabilities were magnified on the battlefield, he crusaded with all of his might against the Separatists and their robotic minions.

    The pair performed admirably in the field, and gained much notoriety among the troops they fought with for taking point. Alor pressed the attack, while Errol defended the soldiers and held the line. Errol was concerned about his pupil's uneven education, though Alor cared not for his lack of promotion. He felt content on the field with his Master, saving the soldiers, wiping out the machines of war sent to subjugate defenseless populaces.

    Things changed when the Jedi council pushed Errol into promoting the young man. They simply saw his performance, his record. And they felt that he would be strong in leading forces in future battles. After the ceremony, the pair were sent on mission to the Debrak system to protect a fuel refinery on an ice planet.

    While in transit, Errol spoke of his concerns and how she felt, the weaknesses in such one dimensional training, and how even now, during this quiet period, it was simply time passing before the next battle. This news saddened Alor, since he hadn't detected the schism between the council and his master before this moment. He felt his promotion was hollow then, since it was his master, not the council, that knew him most.

    As they emerged from hyperspace into the system, their small fleet was ambushed by separatist cruisers. The Jedi raced to the control room of their flagship, which was being targeted exclusively by the enemy. They knew where the command and control was, and the separatists were keen on cutting the head off of this Republic snake.

    A hit had destroyed the comms, so orders weren't able to be relayed to the surrounding escorts. They stayed in their loose travel formation, out of range of the spearhead attacking the command ship. The shields buckled under concentrated turbolaser fire,and Errol pushed Alor out of the bridge before an explosion ripped through the bulkheads, exposing it to the cold vacuum of space. As alor salmmed against the far bulkhead, he had enough time to lock eyes with Errol. Despite her control, her patience, her maturity, he was seared by the fear and despair that consumed her before plasma fire erupted all around her as the emergency blast doors screamed shut.

    Blinking back tears of fear, rage and frustration, he sprinted to the backup bridge and seized control of the vessel. He input hyperspace coordinates and jumped, leaving the rest of the escorts behind. None returned from the engagement. As if ensuring his turmoil couldn't heal, the council praised his actions as heroic, saving the cruiser from an impossible situation - a situation he knew to be far different.

    Now he moves across the battlefield, purely focused on the objective so he can engage in battle or be left to his chamber, mulling over his first real defeat. The bitterness he feels towards the council, towards his enemy, towards the inequity in the universe makes it difficult for him to stay his hand. He hasn't decided whether he should hold back.

    Fairly average in both height and build, though a bit shorter than normal, Orl does not cut much of an intimidating figure. Were it not for his choice of attire it would be easy to mistake him for a scholar or simple office worker. However, dressed as he is in Jedi robes with added armor plating, and carrying a standard lightsaber, he is the picture of a Jedi Knight in service to the Republic. With his fairly average face, forgettable features, and brown hair the same color of his robes it is easy to lose track of him as an individual and think of him more as an extension of his chosen attire.

    Orl has been a Jedi for as long as he can remember, and a Knight for nearly a decade now. He tries to be the picture of a calm and serene Jedi, and usually succeeds, but can occasionally be caught up in things the same as anyone else. His favored topic of conversation is lightsaber forms, and he has been known to comment on the forms his fellow Jedi use. He doesn't tend to joke around much but when he does it's usually sarcastic humor delivered in a perfect deadpan, to the point where it can be difficult to tell if he's kidding.     Born on the core world of Anaxes, his father a recently retired Admiral and his mother a lecturer at the Republic Naval College, young Orl seemed destined for a position in the Navy. His parents had already begun planning out which academies he would attend and his father was fond of trying to figure out which ship his son's first posting would be on. And then came the blood test results. A midi-chlorian count far higher than average, well above the minimum required to attract the Order's attention, led to a Jedi stopping by the family's home while on business on the world.

    A Cerean Knight whose name Orl knew once, but has since forgotten, informed his parents of the great honor and chance the child was entitled too...and promptly had the door slammed in his face by Orl's father, who didn't want his child to have anything to do with the Order. A debate raged through the household for weeks after that, a simmering anger and raised voices the young child was only barely aware of, and, eventually, his father gave in and Orl was sent to the Order, tagging along with another Jedi who had visited the Core World, a Twi'lek named Aashah'vichof, a name the young Orl had great difficulty in pronouncing when they were first introduced.

    Upon his arrival on Coruscant Orl was impressed by the world, but not overwhelmed. Anaxes was significantly smaller and less populated, but even so he had been exposed to skyscrapers and massive cities in the past. It was the Jedi Temple itself which amazed the child, the sleek and simple design confirming in his mind that this was where he was meant to be.

    Orl's days as a Jedi Initiate passed in a rush. So much to learn, so many new wonders to explore, and so little time given to each discovery. In no time at all, it seemed, he was assigned to a master to learn, and it was quite a surprise for the newly minted Padawan that his master was the Twi'lek who had brought him from Anaxes, Aashah'vichof herself.

    Over the course of his Padawan training Orl learned a great deal from his master. She instructed Orl in Form 3 rather than the less conventional Form 2 she had mastered, having determined that the young man's patience and self-control fit well with the defensive patterns and techniques of waiting for an advantage to strike. Orl took to the form well and mastered its initial stances and patterns quickly. As the two traveled about the Republic Orl was trained in a dozen things he would never had expected to need to know, the life of a Padawan is not a dull one at least. But it was always the styling of the lightsaber he found himself coming back to, eschewing delving deeper into the force or training in the bits of extra-curricular knowledge that his peers preferred to focus solely on his form and footwork. Even after he was knighted Orl continued his focus on lightsaber combat, taking his knowledge of Form 3 to the point where he was considered a worthy challenger to the other masters of the form, and even adapting some of Form 5 into his routine to better counter the blasters that were encountered in the day-to-day routine of the Jedi.

    It wasn't until the Clone Wars began that his skills were truly tested. Deployed alongside the clones on Geonosis, having been denied the opportunity to follow Master Windu to the arena (a personal sore spot for him, as Master Kenobi, the premier Form 3 practitioner alive, was a bit of a role model to Orl) Jedi Knight Orl fought against the overwhelming numbers of droids with calm precision and practiced ease. As the clones he fought alongside began to fall, however, the Knight realized an important point about the defensive style he had not previously grasped, that all the defensive power in the world won't protect others around you. Expanding his reach and pushing himself into the force he began blocking shots for those around him and subtly warning of attacks before they came. It was on that day, on the battlefields of Geonosis, that Orl truly began to understand what he could do.

    When he found out that his name came from the planet that saw the end of the Mandalorian Wars, Malakor fell in love with history. When he got picked up by the Jedi for being Force sensitive, he fell right into the library, though it made him stray from the lightest path into a more neutral path of the ancient Jedi.

    Malakor is a caring individual. He wants the best for people. He's very forward about his beliefs on the free use of the Force, though it usually gets him in trouble with the higher ups. He practices what he preaches when not around the people that could banish him from the Order. He officially trained to be a healer and field medic, though his true intentions are to go on expeditions for lost information, good or bad, and will jump on any opportunity to do so.

    His not-so-secret became known throughout the Order when on an expedition and a colleague was on the brink of death from a monster inside a tomb. Reaching deep with the force, he drained the last bit of life from the monster and gave it to the dying man. The man lived, telling the council of how his inner peace is now tainted with darkness because of Malakor. Malakor argued that his intentions were good, he had since meditated showing that he had not fallen to the dark side, biting his tongue about his true feelings of the Force.

    True to Mirilian culture, after coming back from such a traumatic experience (and only reinforcing his theory even more), he got a tribal tattoo going from the bottom of his chin, down to his chest.

    Education - None outside of the order : Ikshar had none before entering the Jedi Order, given he was four when he was found and his formation began. His togruta mentality helped him to quickly adapt to the hardship of the teaching.

    Recent History - After being recognized as a Jedi Knight, Ikshar went to Shili, first to meet his parents, and second to make what he thought was necessary given what he knew about his folk : he went to hunt an Akul. The hunt was far too easy, and he spared the Akul.

    When he came back to Coruscant he was changed, not really in his way of acting, but in his way of thinking about himself. Before going to Shili he was light-hearted, but that experience made him far more serious, and that was enough to change the opinion of the counsel about him : he was taking his duties far too lightly.

    Ikshar was four when he entered the Jedi Order, and his integration was very quick, given his togruta pack mentality. He even had issues, at first, getting why it was so hard for the others.

    What Ikshar considered his connection to the Force was in fact his (closer than average, but still) natural connection to the other, and he had difficulties using the Force because of that. It's only recently, through his events on Shili, that he discovered that misunderstanding, and began really working on the Force.

    He knows the philosophy of the Jedi order well, it's just the application that's lacking for him.

    Was gonna move into Seek as well initially, but then Mechanics, mods happened, and we have people for whom it's probably more appropriate anyway.

    I definitely will grab more combat prowess as we start advancing, since I've got almost everything I want from the Artisan tree, and I don't absolutely NEED to grab Outlaw Tech right off. Would make more sense to get kicked out of the Order first anyway. :P

    Hey Rakaydos, is there anything in the download that indicates the Order or the Republic has allies, sympathizers, hidden assets, or the such on Corfai or Forvand Station?

    How up to date is the info we received? Also is it just the "Tourist's Advisory Board" level if info that's in the Corellian Sector book or do we have more indepth intell (like local leader's names, criminal groups, etc)?

    Given that the "tourist advisory" stuff is all I as the GM have, I'm going to leave the more in depth intel to knowlege checks later. (with a blue die from the download.) As he said, if it was useful to the war effort and could move, it went to Duros.

    You had the Helmet Comm and Scanner, I figured you had the same thing I did which has a Datapad in it.




    Yes, my character (for having no Mechanics or computers) is a Tech head. She's "one of those" got to have the "latest gadget" without really understanding how the hows or whys or gadgets.
