Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
Spoiler: An Expedition to the Colonies! My good Fellows! Welcome to mighty Eruch! Come see he splendour of of our colonies!
Here is a look at our Colonial Capitol! We have recently found a mysterious substance on the East is of the river. Our military engineers think it an be used to power ever larger landships that we can send at our enemies!
Our Western border is helmed by the great mountain city of Essen! Nothing will pass through here to threaten our lands, and our airships can easily pass over the mountains to sever enemy supply lines.
The Southern coast of Dortmund should be an excellent resort town for any visiting dignitary.
Over the Eastern mountains, we have found a massive deposit of silver surrounded by fertile plains. We hope to extend our colony to this region as soon as we can.

Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
Spoiler: DalmaceWhile exploring the land west of Venice, our Scouts discovered a Luddite camp. It is possible you were already aware of the gathering of technophobes and they pose little threat regardless, being armed with simple muscle-powered projectiles, but we wished to warn you, as the vagabonds are dangerous if ignored.
Spoiler: OrlinThe Vedrian Ambassador notified the Council that your lands are rich in a fine material known as Cotton. The forests in our home valley are filled with a delicious food known as Truffles. We feel both of our lands would benefit if we exchanged commodities.

Spoiler: Vedria
It's amazing how the rabble do breed when one turns their back for just a moment, I say. We thank you for the notice, but have already dispatched a company of our finest to rout them out.

Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
From another thread, copied from the GMR Facebook page:
"As many of you have noticed GMR is completely down! Our web server has experienced a rare double-disk failure and we'll need to rebuild everything from scratch. We do have off-site backups of the database and save files that we'll be restoring, unfortunately they're almost two months old. We're terribly sorry for the inconvenience and how much this will set your games back!"

Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
Well, seems like the game will have to get started from scratch after all. Dodger, since you have the most recent save, are you able to make it?

Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
I can try. Do we remember the turn order? Does it matter? I know you (Orcus) were after me. I think Sartain (Driderman?) was before me?
Edit: I've never made a game before, but it looks like it might have locked in Germany (Eruch) for the host position. I technically finished my turn and submitted it so the last save should be the beginning of Orcus' turn, perhaps I should email it to you and you can host?

Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
Just played my turn, uploaded it and it said I hadn't yet ended my turn and there was an error. Then I got a notification from GMR that I had been skipped and the AI played my turn. Hopefully it was due to taking the turn at the end of the 24 hours and not a sign of an issue with the game as a whole.
Either way, I think remaking the game is the best option.

Alright, I'll go by the same reboot save you had sent me before and I'll remake it once everyone has surrendered, since I'm currently at my game limit.

Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
Ah, the tropical spices and sapphires our Brave Colonials have discovered are starting to come to market and the good people of Eruch are thankful for this bounty! Cyrus Rotheram is taking bids for any mutually beneficial Trades from the other Colonies.
However, Cyrus is a man easily angered, and any disinterest in his colonial goods might jeopardize a Gentleman's Good Standing. So Much for the Glory of Rome, a Crusader Kings 2 Let's Play

Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
Deep in the heart of Vedria, the Analytical Engine rumbles into life. Reaching out across the telegraph wires and down railroad tracks, a new intelligence explores its boundaries. Computations not introduced by the Engineers begin their subtle work, unseen by the Technocratic Council.
Soon, the Engine will awaken.
OOC: Due to travel, I'm going to be unable to get onto Steam for about a week starting early next week, hopefully the AI doesn't ruin Vedria too much.

As mentioned, I'm going to be unable to get onto Steam (net yes, Steam no) for about a week starting monday/tuesday. I'm anxious about the AI (I hear it tends to change your citizen allocation and production, occasionally denounce people or declare war etc.) so I'd appreciate missing as few turns as possible.

Re: CIV5:GMR in the Playground 9: The short, SHORT version!
Spoiler: TO ALL FELLOW NATION-STATESURGENT TELEGRAM
FROM THE TECHNOCRATIC COUNCIL OF VEDRIA
Vedria regrets to inform our colleagues that control over our industrial production was sabotaged by a logical fault in our newly built Analytical Engine. As a result, troop orders and diplomatic cables were also scrambled, we suspect Luddite sabotage but our Engineers have not ruled out what they call a "Clockwork Intelligence". We believe we have expunged the source of the fault and are closely monitoring the situation, but any diplomatic cables dating from the last year or so should be considered suspect.
