Streets of the Town XVII

[Rebonack]

Maph’tey steps out of the tavern behind Al and proceeds to glance up and down the Streets.

“So, I’m curious Al, what sort of circumstances surrounded your awakening, if you don’t mind me asking.”

[McBish]

I was awoken to fight in a war. Well someones personal war against a large band of demons. He figured I would be better at fighting if I could think. He was right. The mutt heads off randomly along the streets.

Eric buys an apple and starts to munch on it as he walks around.

[Rebonack]

The Traveler follows not too far behind.

“I was awakened to make me more ‘manageable’, mostly. I guess old Prancibald didn’t like his servants getting eaten,” Maph’tey responds while Rebonack considers the viability of dropping some stock NPC demons into Town to cause trouble.

[Nevrmore]

Adder looks around for Eric, spinning a new short sword between his fingers idly.

[McBish]

So you were awaken to become less dangerous, while I was awakened to become more so.

Eric spots Adder and heads over to him. Hey.

[Nevrmore]

"Still sleeping on the streets, kid?" Adder says as he walks up to him.

[McBish]

The beach actually.

[Nevrmore]

Adder shakes his head.

"Follow me." He says, heading towards the Town Hills Apartments.

[McBish]

Eric follows Adder.

[Rebonack]

“That’s pretty much it,” Maph’tey responds with a smile representing recognition of his own state rather than mirth. “I’ve got some pretty complex wards in place to keep my predatory instincts in check. I’m just glad I didn’t hurt anyone when the crazy dancing guy gummed them up.”

He sighs.

“Fortunately I’ve modified them to stand up against chaotic fluctuations, so they should be able to survive another run-in with him.”

Just for the hell of it, an oddly pixilated portal assembles itself about ten feet above the Street and proceeds to disgorge four vrocs and a few dozen dretches. The pudgy demons begin to terrorize NPCs while the vrocs begin to dance madly.

“Huh… That isn’t any good…”

[McBish]

The mutt just grins this suits his mood just fine. He calls out to the pudgy demon. Hey you stop it.

[Rebonack]

The demons don’t seem to be very keen on stopping. As if to further cement this point several fleeing NPCs are chased down and slaughtered rather gruesomely.

Several of the dretches turn their attention to Al and Maph’tey, seeing nothing more than an unarmed human and his dog to torture. Seven of them surge forward, their icky claws ready to dig into flesh.

The vrocs continue to dance, a slight distortion forming around them accompanied by a crackle of raw profane power.

Maph’tey glares at the encroaching demons and readies himself to show them the result of Prancibald's handiwork.

[Nevrmore]

Adder notes the demons with only a glance as he walks down the streets.

[McBish]

Ok then. The mutt darts foward with a good amount of speed. And with the training of a vertern demon hunter he lunges at one of the demons throat and attempts to bury his +5 evil outsider bane teeth into his throat. Then he will launch at another nearby demon.

((Favored enemy (evil outsider) +6 by the way))

Eric follows Adder. She is at Trog's a lot. I think there is a portal to her plane somewhere around here on the streets.

[Nevrmore]

"As much as herself as a person irks me, if she can do good on her promise to get me some members, I can use her well." Adder says, strolling into Trog's.

[Rebonack]

Four of the dretches find themselves missing a goodly portion of their neck before they even realize they’re being attacked. One of the remaining three is promptly Disintegrated by…

Ruin. Maph’tey’s mismatched wings are clearly visible at this point, one having taken on the appearance of an icy robed figure and the other a molten mail-clad knight.

“Finally I get to enjoy myself a bit,” Ruin comments as another dretche gets obliterated by a thrumming sphere of sonic energy.

With a wave of his hand a sizable construct composed of some strange glassy material pops into existence along with three others exactly half its size. The lot of them pound off toward the dancing vrocs while more dretches continue to pour out of the portal, bogging them down in their advance.

The vrocs, meanwhile, are now wreathed in corrupt power.

[McBish]

Maph'tey close that portal! The mutt charges the vrocs snarling. He tries his best to avoid the dretches for now.

Eric follows Adder.

[Rebonack]

The dretches tear at Al as he runs past them, doing their best to slow him down.

Maph’tey Dimension Locks the area around the rift, effectively stemming the tide of demons.

The vrocs then complete their Dance of Ruin, causing a massive wall of crackling fell power to explode forth and sweep over everything within the evil being’s vicinity.

Buildings are scorched and NPCs blasted into corrupted residue as the wave of destruction rolls out to a distance of about one hundred feet.

“That’s no good,” Maph’tey comments just before the shockwave knocks him off his feet and the evil energy burns at his flesh.

[McBish]

The mutt recives several gashes and drops down low as the shockwave hits him and burns him. But this doesn't seem to faze him. He immeditly stands up and charges the vrocs.

[Rebonack]

As hound’s jaws clamp into the demon’s thin neck the monster begins to claw at Al with its talons in a desperate bit to dislodge him. A second moves in to give its aid, but this is cut short when it gets tackled from behind by the smaller constructs and subsequently gets its head stomped into jelly by the larger one.

Maph’tey darts into close range, Refuge scything through the dretches with his heatless flaming weapon while Ruin manages to inflict one of the remaining vrocs with Irresistible Dance, causing it to spastically disco in place.

The Traveler himself causes a massive spatial distortion to ripple over a mob of dretches, the dimensional sheer rending them apart.

[McBish]

The mutt realeses the demons throat and drops down as it attacks at him. Then he circles around it and goes to hamstring it, both legs.

[Rebonack]

Al’s vroc drops to the ground, having great difficulty standing since its Attellies tendon is currently severed.

The remaining combat capable vroc attempts to take to the air to gain advantage above the deadly hound, but is disappointed when it finds itself suddenly crystallized and crashing catastrophicly into the flagstones of the Street. This causes it to shatter very effectively.

Ruin sends a wave of Glitter Dust rolling over the remaining dretches, causing them to begin grouping about helplessly.

The discoing vroc continues to disco while cursing Maph’tey in fluent abyssal.

[McBish]

The mutt moves with quick and effective attacks to try and finish off a large number of demons.

[Rebonack]

The remaining dretches are dispatched quite easily.

Maph’tey crosses his arms as his wings and tail are once again covered over by illusion.

“What are we going to do with him?” he nods toward the still discoing vroc.

[McBish]

Take him to a cell I guess. Question him. If this was a couple of years ago and I wasn't cheif I'd ripe out his throat.

[Rebonack]

Maph’tey nods and proceeds to incase the demon in a shell of precipitated ether. The material is, as per normal, easy to transport since it and anything in it interact in an exaggerated manner to applied force.

The Traveler levitates the cocoon off the ground telekinetically.

“Should we get going then?”

[McBish]

The mutt nods and heads for the station.

[wxdruid]

Gwen and Hawk walk out of the Police Station. She looks up and down the street before heading for the courthouse.

[Nevrmore]

"Suicide? I wonder how they even managed that."

[Kyrian]

A rocket propelled chainsaw flies from Trog's and nails a NPC in the chest. He screams as it tears him apart.
