"Ils ne sont pas Anglais. Ils sont Amercaine. " Zebes chuckles.
"Don't know, Geneva. Only one option? I don't know if we can afford to over-order. It's not like the foxes can finish it for us." those silly foxes, not liking things.

Yep, Geneva is frowning now.

Just look at that frown!

Who knew that buying a cake would be such a frustrating ordeal.

"Well, thank you for the information sir," she says, doing her best to remain pleasant. "We'll keep your bakery in mind. For now we'll just buy that creme cake."

She points a claw at the cake ruined by Zebes.

The cake that may or may not smell vaguely of pocket-dragon now.

How would you be able to sell a cake like that to any normal customer?

The chef follows Geneva's pointing and his eyes go wide

Sacre Dieu! Américains Wretched ont ruiné mon gâteau! Georges, collect their monies and bid them good day! Adieu!

And he turns on his heel and stomps back into the kitchen.

"But...Adieu is German. I feel like this joke is confused...

"Well, we'll just find somewhere else. Not a big deal." Nick says with a shrug of his wings.
And off they go?

Off they go.

Geneva pays for the ruined cake and heads bout out into the street, the pastry balanced atop her head. "This is so much more awkward than hands," she complains. "We should find a table and eat this thing. Or a trash can. Do either of you like creme cakes?"

A very important question there.

"Ugh. I wish I could use my psychic moves as a griffin like I can when I'm human," she grumbles, shuffling up along side a table and sliding the cake off onto it. Good thing griffins have the same weirdly cartoonish coordination the ponies have. Otherwise walking around with stuff balanced on one's self like that would be quite a bit easier. "There's a reason why humans figured out the whole walking upright thing. It's very handy."

Oh.

Oh geeze.

That pun was just the worst.

"Ugh, no, stop. No puns like that or you'll be griffin me a headache. Creme cakes are okay, I think?" Zebes retorts, rubbing his forehead.

"Hands are nice, but it's too bad that in getting them they had to give up having feet that work on their own. I don't really know about creme cakes myself." he admits.

Geneva begins hunting through her inventory for a knife. Whilst rummaging through the screens, she can't help but ask. "Alright, so, why are you here Zebes? Teleporting usually requires both you and Jace signing, right? Wouldn't he have come with you?"

That's how Jace's teleportation works right?

Hmm...

Still no knife...

"Or... did Fortuna find you guys and decide to cause some more trouble? I really hope that wasn't it. She's caused far more trouble today than I think she really has any business causing," Geneva grumbles. More chaos events over the past few hours than there have been in the last few months, easy.

Meanwhile, a small dark green and yellow pokemon peeks out from behind a rubbish, eyeing the creme cake enviously. No doubt it means our heroes ill-will.

Zebes shrugs with his wings.
"No clue. Maybe Fortuna just thought you guys needed help with your cake choices. Or needed me to make it clear that that guy was a fraud. Jace and Khannie are buying her new jammies to sleep over Veronica's."

"sounds plausible enough. I expected her to meddle a bit for a while, while she's still in that particular mood." Nick says, not too worried by it.

"Well, I'm glad that Jace and Khannie are safe," Geneva says. Really she doesn't trust Fortuna at all. There's that knowledge that while Fortuna might not intend to hurt anyone, all it takes is one slip-up... "I guess that means we'll be taking you back to he City with us then, Zebes. We should check Carousel Court on the way home. They always have all sorts of sweets. We'll just have to make sure not to mention that the cake is for a wedding and that should-"

Without warning the hidden pokemon ATTACKS!

"Munchlax!" it warbles, leaping up onto the table, snatching up the cake, and swallowing the thing whole.

Geneva glowers at it. "That was rude."

The pokemon belches loudly and slumps over sideways, fast asleep.

Geneva's glower falters.

Just a little.

"No! I'm not thinking about keeping it!" she objects before anything can be said. "But... maybe we should at least drop it off outside the town so no one catches it?"

In no time at all it'll be full grown and slumped across heavily traveled roads blocking traffic, no doubt.

Nick raises an eyebrow.
Zebes shakes his head.
"Geneva, Munchlaxes are drawn to food. It'll just come back to town if you bring it away. Besides, a critter that obsessed with eating is probably better off having some clueless human having to feed it."

Geneva eyes the sleeping pokemon.

The sleeping pokemon continues sleeping.

With a sigh, she gives a little nod. "Fine, fine... we'll leave it here. Hopefully someone will be nice to-"

"Oh my gosh is that a Munchlax!?" screeches a child no older than eight. Not one of the kids that was bugging our heroes, but another little girl in the process of replacing baby teeth none the less. She's wearing a shirt promanently featuring none other than the slothful lump on their table. "Munchlax is my favorite pokemon!"

Geneva glances at her friends.

Then at the pokemon.

Then at the little girl.

With another sigh, she picks it up and hands it to the child, who hugs it with unbridled glee.

"You be responsible with that animal. I don't know if you can feed it. It might be better to see if your town can find him a zoo or something so you can visit him without him eating all your stuff." Nick says gently to the girl.
Responsible pet ownership is important!

"Okay!" the little girl giggles before toddling off. Munchlax is pretty heavy after all.

Geneva watches her go. Cute kid! Maybe some day... She glances over at Nick, smiling bright as she spreads her wings. "Are you guys ready to head home?"

Should the answer be yes, she'll take off!

And remind Nick every now and again to slow down for her.

Because she can't keep up with a real griffin.

Silly Geneva.

Zebes and Nick both nod.
"Yeah, we can go get our cake somewhere else. Somewhere less pretentious." he adds with a small laugh.

And presumably they'll be off.
