    Default Map Grid size?

In the Players Handbook, it mentions that a square in a dungeon map is 1x1 inch. I do not have access to a set of Dungeon Tiles. Do I need to print out a large map composed of 1x1 inch squares, or will smaller graph paper "said to be 1x1 inch squares" suffice?

It'll be fine. The reason it suggests 1"x1" grids is for people who want to use miniatures and/or tokens at that scale. Just make sure you can differentiate what is where.
