Re: Magic the Gathering XX: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!
As a relatively new MtG player, I keep seeing terms like "Rakdos", "Dimir", etc. I know these refer to the various 2-color combinations and I've picked up a couple of those over time, but googling for them is generally singularly uninformative and I haven't figured out any way to figure out from the name itself without just memorizing all 20 (presumably).
Any help?

Re: Magic the Gathering XX: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!
Since you've now been bombarded with links,,, To answer your question a different way, there really isn't an easy way to just know them all, without practice. The names are all random. For me personally when I was learning to memorize what all of them were and the combinations, it actually helped me to learn their keyworded ability, such as raid, outlast, etc. Granted if you are already having trouble keeping everything straight this won't help you much, but if you're like me and it helps you to remember things if you can link with out stuff, the abilities can be an easy way to do that. Also, nice to see you zeal.

Now that I think about it, infinite Emrakuls is viable in Legacy. Slip a second Emrakul into an OmniTell deck and your combo is Show&Tell->Omniscience->Loop(Enter the Infinite -> Emrakul)

Re: Magic the Gathering XX: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!
All you need is a way to produce 15 mana every turn and Karakas, really. There are a few artifacts that can manage it too, but they require more mana.which should not be too big of a deal with cloudpost, Glimmerpost, and Vesuva.

If you really wanted some fun with Emrakuls without needing to recast it, you can mirror gallery, then mycosynth lattice, then emrakul, then infinite reflection, then
llanowar elfemrakul again. Each time you cast something you get an emrakul instead.Avatar made by Bradakhan| Other avatars.

Re: Magic the Gathering XX: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!
easy, 15 mana, emrakul, roaring primadox
cast emrakul, get an extra turn, end turn, second turn starts, primadox sends emrakul back to your hand. rinse and repeat

Re: Magic the Gathering XX: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!
So, I plan on going to a local SCG Qualifier this weekend, after having been out of the game in a serious manner for over a decade. I did some looking around and decided on a deck that seems easy to play and fairly inexpensive to put together (<$150). It's the U/W Heroic that Tom Ross played in Columbus.
I've done some games at the house, goldfished and drew mulligan test hands about 30 times, and watched the streams that several people have put up playing it but am still torn over the inclusion of the two Eidolon's in the main. With their use and inclusion in almost every game post-board, I'm trying to decide if Stubborn Denial or Treasure Cruise wouldn't be better served in the main, with additional in the SB for games 2 and 3.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Have an Animar Commander deck, it sucks.
What are the five (or even 10!) most important cards that every Animar deck absolutely needs to have in it?

Re: Magic the Gathering XX: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!
Fierce Empath is the best tutor in an Animar deck.
Wood elves is mana ramp at no tempo disadvantage.
Mulldrifter is really good card draw.

Re: Magic the Gathering XX: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!
While I personally love it, I felt like the other cards were necessary and Tooth and Nail is just nice to have. It's super good, but you can play an Animar deck pretty low to the ground if you want and then Tooth and Nail gets worse.
I will second all the recommendations though. I personally have them in my Animar deck. Tooth and Nail for Kiki-Jiki and Zealous Conscripts is my favorite way to close out games.Uncle Fong, from Bibliography, and Chibi Fong Avatar By Elagune

Re: Magic the Gathering XX: KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!
The reason tooth and nail is good is because it's a card that singlehandedly closes out games if it resolves. Given that power, it's fine if it sits dead in hand for a bit while you build up the mana.
